VRBO is still actively investigating the host with the volumes of text messages and photos I gave them. I am not sure if I will get any compensation or not, but I feel regardless, I have to warn other families of the dishonest host and her property that is dangerous for small children and pets due to the poison in the home. This host also asked me to pay the pet fee using another payment site and then tried to charge me again on VRBO site as if it was not paid. She asked me to use her personal email or text only to communicate with her as she "was in the Caribbean" so, VRBO cannot monitor the conversations to make sure the host and guest are following policy and to negate oversight. In 0ver 10 years of renting, no host ever asked me to do this. This is why I had to spend HOURS to email pages and pages of text messages to VRBO. No bars of soap were in the home, and a lighbulb was out in one of the upstairs bathroom and the pilot lights in both fireplaces did not work and was a pain to repeatedly light manually. The power went out a full afternoon, yet no portable generator. Poison has been left in the home by "an exterminator" due to a "mouse and droppings issue" We found a dead chipmunk in the couch, then a dead squirrel under the master headboard on the last morning of our stay, which our two small dogs were repeatedly and 1of my dogs became ill for two days after. This home has poison in it and in the dead animals. Host offered to extend stay by 1 day, Really? YUCK!
