The upside-down layout of this property means that the open-plan kitchen diner on the first floor boasts views over the historic cobble-stone Church Street through the large box window. Spend your evenings with your feet up on the leather sofas in this tranquil neutral-toned room and dine with your loved ones at the wooden table with seating for four. Continue into the homely and bright kitchen with shaker-style cabinets and plenty of surface space for preparing a home-cooked meal. Down the handcrafted staircase on the ground floor is a bathroom, a single bedroom and an outside utility room. The second floor contains another bathroom plus two bedrooms – a double and a single. Outside is a small enclosed patio with a picnic bench.

During your stay in Whitby’s old town, you’ll be within easy reach of a small sandy beach, a handful of eateries, a tea room, an art gallery, cafes and plenty of quirky shops (within 500 metres). Climb the 199 Steps to reach the ruins of Whitby Abbey (less than 0.5 miles). Cross the River Esk to reach the centre of Whitby (0.5 miles). Spend an afternoon on Whitby Beach (0.5 miles) and stroll along the seafront to reach Sandsend Beach (2.5 miles). Delve into the history of the town at the Captain Cook Memorial Museum and brave the Dracula Experience (both within 0.5 miles).
