Beautiful central Edinburgh town house in the heart of the city.
Built in 1820 by celebrated architect William Playfair, our elegant four-bedroom Georgian townhouse offers a rare chance to stay in the very heart of Edinburgh — while enjoying the peace of a quiet residential street.
Everything is within easy reach. The tram is just three minutes away, Edinburgh Waverley Station is a short walk, and you’re moments from theatres, wonderful restaurants, Valvona & Crolla, Topping & Company Booksellers, and the vibrant St James Quarter. At the end of the road, majestic Calton Hill offers panoramic views across the city skyline.
The house unfolds over several light-filled levels. The spacious principal bedroom features a king-size bateau-lit bed, with a bathroom next door crowned by a cupola above the bath — perfect for stargazing. Three further bedrooms provide flexible and comfortable accommodation. There is a grand drawing room, a cosy snug, and a large fully equipped kitchen with Aga and American fridge, opening through French doors onto a charming walled garden filled with flowers, fruit trees, and Daffodil our resident tortoise.
Beds are dressed in fine linens and bathrooms are stocked with luxurious Ortigia toiletries, so you can settle in immediately. As this is our much-loved family home, available only occasionally, we enjoy connecting with guests personally to ensure a warm and memorable stay in this beautiful city.
