Comience sus vacaciones en Shades of Summer, ubicado en los hermosos Outer Banks, NC, con una taza de café en la terraza superior disfrutando de un impresionante amanecer OBX mientras disfruta de una vista panorámica y sin obstáculos del océano. Nuestra casa está perfectamente ubicada a solo 2 minutos a pie de la playa y es conveniente para ir de compras, jugar al golf y muchas otras actividades emocionantes. Después de un ajetreado día disfrutando de las atracciones locales o de un perezoso día en la playa, es hora de relajarse y disfrutar de la puesta de sol desde la cubierta superior con la familia y los amigos. Un día perfecto en Corolla!

Shades of Summer es nuestra hermosa casa de vacaciones familiar de 6 dormitorios, 6 baños (4 completos, 2 medios) ubicada en la sección E de Ocean Sands. Queremos que nuestros huéspedes se sientan como en casa en el momento en que crucen la puerta principal. Nos esforzamos por brindarle todas las comodidades y comodidades que usted merece.

Nivel 1:
Dormitorio con baño semi-privado (1 Queen); sala de juegos con mesa de billar y bar con refrigerador de tamaño barra; Área de lavado con refrigerador grande.

Nivel 2:
Suite familiar con baño compartido (1 King con acceso a la cubierta, 2 camas individuales); dos habitaciones (1 King con acceso a la cubierta, 1 Duo Litera, 1 cama nido); baño completo Medio baño; jacuzzi en la cubierta trasera.

Nivel 3:
Dormitorio principal (1 King con acceso a la cubierta) con baño privado y bañera de hidromasaje; gran sala (1 sofá cama Queen); Cocina con encimeras de granito, dos lavaplatos; Medio baño.

Extras:
Porche delantero cubierto con mecedoras, entrada sin llave, mesa de picnic, parrilla a gas, dos refrigeradores y una ducha exterior cerrada.

Actualizaciones planificadas para 2019:
- Actualización de medio baño en planta superior.
- Sofá y sillón nuevo en la sala de estar
- Nuevo microondas.
- Vuelva a pintar / redecorar los pasillos, la suite familiar y los baños en el segundo piso.
- King colchón mejora en el dormitorio "Breeze" (para un total de 3 camas King!)
- Nuevos ventiladores de techo en las habitaciones del segundo piso.
- ¡¡Automatización del hogar!! (luces, cerraduras, etc.)

This house had all the conveniences that you need and was especially clean. The beds were very comfortable and the set up was nice. It was a close walk to the beach and for ice cream in the evenings. I can’t think of one thing we needed that wasn’t there. Perfect for our family of 12!

We would strongly recommend this host and rental! Close to the beach and plenty of room for a large extended family vacation! Check in was self check-in and was quick and easy! The Host texted when check in was available and it was well before check in time. The house had many items to use during our stay. The kitchen was fully stocked and had many items beyond the standard! Wonderful trip and Wonderful memories!! We would definitely recommend!! Thank you to our hosts you were exceptional!!

Family Vacation Retreat

Our family had the best time at this property that was exactly as advertised. The interior is beautifully decorated in a beach theme making for a very relaxing stay. The surrounding neighborhood was quiet and we never felt the beach was ever crowded. This house really is a plus stay for a great family beach get-a-way.

Perfect Stay

We had a wonderful stay. The house was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The walk to the beach was very easy. Communications with the property owners was great. We had no complaints, and this was definitely one of the best houses that we have rented.

We loved staying at this property in Corolla, half a block to the ocean, nature scape in the back, 6 beds, 6 bathrooms. This was great four 3 generations annul trip to the ocean and converted us from Delaware beach goers to already planning next years trip to OBX.

Amazing vacation!!

We had a wonderful time this week at Shades of Summer! The layout of the house is perfect for big families to spread out and relax. The owners responded quickly to any questions we had and were incredibly helpful. The location is amazing, so close to a beautiful uncrowded beach. Highly recommend this property!!

Great vacation

Shades of summer was the perfect spot for our large family of 14. We had an extensive range of ages - 20 months - 85 years old and everyone was comfortable and happy. Communication with the hosts was easy and fast. I would definitely recommend the property looking for a fun family vacation!

We were very pleased with this property. We finally figured out the best bedroom/bathroom assignments and everyone was happy. The kitchen was well-stocked with equipment. 2 refrigerators was excellent as we were eating in for all meals and there were 14 of us.

Wonderful property. So well maintained. Beautifully appointed. Wonderfully located. Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying at shades of summer. We especially appreciated the fact that there were ample dishes, cooking utensils, and tableware. Can’t think of anything we needed that was not provided in that kitchen! It was so wonderful to be able to watch the sun rise from the back porch each morning as it came up over the ocean. Love the fact that we were walking distance to a really great Harris Teeter, and to a fun ice cream store. Also loved having a traffic signal where you come out of the neighborhood so that we had no problems getting out when it was time to go somewhere. Would love to come back.

The word that keeps coming back to me is Wonderful!!! Our family of 6 had plenty of room and enjoyed the deck and common areas together, watching the waves and playing games and doing puzzles. The house was spotless and is beautifully decorated. The kitchen had everything we expected in a rental house, plus more! The beach is a very short walk, and we spent hours on the wide expanse of sand, walking and collecting shells. We took advantage of the many shops and restaurants in Corolla and Duck, the latter of which is a just a 20 minute drive away. We stayed with our adult children and their significant others, and it was such a comfortable place to relax and spend happy times away from home and the daily grind! I would recommend this house 100%!

Great vacation home!

Our family of 14 enjoyed Shades of Summer! The large kitchen is well stocked as we cooked a ton. We love to gather for dinners and enjoyed having the huge dining table. Bedrooms are well decorated, and all enjoyed the hot tub and pool table. A short walk to the beach, the sunsets and sunrises were beautiful. Grocery stores within minutes of the house, always a plus. Their house information page was super helpful to know what to bring and what was provided. Would definitely stay again. Tod and Joanna are pleasant to work with, and always a quick response to any questions prior to and during our stay. Highly recommend for your family vacation!

Lovely and Comfortable on the Inside

This a well appointed, spacious and comfortable property. Excellent beds and plenty of seating in the living areas. Owners were quick to respond and gracious when the questions could have been answered by their helpful manual. I would give the property five stars but the decks and sliding doors were covered with dead bugs and the deck furniture too dirty to use. Bring your own chairs and umbrella but be warned that the beach access has a lot of very steep stairs.

We are sorry to hear about your experience with bugs on the back of the house and deck furniture. Unfortunately, this year has been particularly bad for the midges that visit the OBX every summer. We could have arranged a power wash of the deck and furniture if we had been notified of the problem. We always do our best to address issues quickly when we are made aware of them. The beach equipment that we provide for use by all summer guests does get well used during the season! :) We refresh beach chairs every year but we agree that if you are particular about your beach equipment, you should bring your own. If the high beach access steps are an issue, the public beach access ramp at Corolla Village Rd. offers a parking lot with accessible parking, a paved walkway to the ramp from the public bathhouse, and an ADA-compliant dune walkover directly onto the beach. Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and we hope you would consider us for future vacations!

Wonderful Stay!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shades of Summer! We had 12 people including 3 children and everyone had plenty of space. When we arrived the house was clean and had all the necessities of home. Two dishwashers was so so great! Everyone loved their bedroom spaces and felt well rested. The tvs in each room were a hit for the little ones as well. There was plenty of beach equipment to use and an outdoor shower for rinsing off. The location is fantastic with close proximity to the beach and across the highway from a Starbucks, Duck Donuts, and Island Smoothie! Thank you for sharing your home with us and we look forward to booking again in the future!

Great Time!

House is in good condition. A few houses from the beach which was very convenient with a bunch of kids and beach toys, umbrellas, chairs, etc. The grocery store, ice cream shop and Duck Donuts right across the street. Walking/bike bath right around the corner. There is a nice view off of the back deck. We enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend Bob's Wild Horse tour. My only suggestion to the owner would be to update some of the old pans and add some plastic cups for kids in the cabinets. Communication was great and all of the directions for the house were well organized and easy to follow. If we go back to Corolla we would consider renting again.

Great Family Reunion

Great place for our family reunion. Home was clean and well furnished perhaps a little dated furniture but not dirty or in disrepair. The home had 5 recliners in the common living spaced which was great for our adults to sit back in the evening and enjoy our recap of the days events. Kitchen and dining area was sized just right and contained all the cooking utensils needed to make our daily meals. Very responsive homeowners who addressed every question we had about our stay. Very close walk to the beach no difficulties accessing the beach. The deck on the back of the house made watching the sunset a joy each night. Wide open view of the evening sky. There was a nice big BBQ grill on the deck for cooking evening meals. Would stay again with no hesitation.

Home away from home

Our time at Shades of Summer was perfect from start to finish. The house was beautifully decorated, clean and had more than enough space for our clan of 12. We loved the floor plan and ALL the bathrooms. Our families fit nicely in the house and had a great time. The kitchen was stocked nicely with plenty of pots and plans as well as storage containers for leftovers. The huge dining room set was perfect for our gang too. We noticed that because of humidity, sometimes the doors would not close all the way and we had to pull them shut and wait for the lock to engage. It’s wasn’t a big deal, just an observation. We enjoyed the Corolla area and the beauty of the beach. We ate out a few nights and enjoyed Bernie Brothers and Cravings. Duck Donuts and Harris Teeter were right across the street so that was a few added bonuses. We’d definitely recommend Todd and Joanna and their home to anyone looking to visit the Corolla area. We are Tod and Joanna Daniels and we live in Landenberg, Pennsylvania. We chose to purchase our vacation home in the Outer Banks after our very first visit to Corolla. We had been dreaming about one day owning a home at the beach but never found a beach town that matched exactly what we were looking for – until we discovered the OBX! Corolla has it all – spacious sandy beaches, the ocean, the sound, wildlife and more. We love being able to share our vacation home with other families!

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe a beach vacation rental home should be so much more than a place to sleep and drop off your things while you sit on the sand. It should be a piece of the experience -- a comfortable, well-furnished oasis from which to launch your excursions and a well-appointed retreat for rest and relaxation on days when you just don't want to do anything. We value design and amenities with a focus on the little things because if we're paying attention to detail, then you know we've got a handle on everything else.
