The perfect family rental on Kauai's north shore

We loved our stay at the Cliffs in Princeville. The apartment was spacious and clean and easily housed our family of 5. It had all of the amenities we needed including a fully stocked kitchen and laundry. The resort has a great pool that the kids loved playing in, as well as super fun tennis and pickleball courts! It is the perfect jumping off point for unforgettable adventures in Kauai!!

perfect paradise

This condo had everything we needed for an easy relaxing stay in the north of Kauai. The kids loved the pool and play areas. The condo was clean and well stocked.

Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time. The condo is well furnished, very functional kitchen with everything we needed. It is on the third floor, which was fine because we are athletic people and can Haku luggage, groceries, etc up the stairs, but I wasn’t aware of this when I booked it. This also gives you a nice view of the ocean from the deck.

Perfect Getaway

Kauai offers a low key island experience. People often go there to get away from the more commercialized feel and bustle of other island communities. The Cliffs plays into this strength so well. It is tucked away up on the north side of Kauai in the midst of sleepy towns and condos. It offers a beautiful location with all the amenities you could want and more. Off campus, you are a short distance from the beach or river kayaking or hiking. The unit has a sprawling master bedroom, a cozy living space, a helpful loft for more sleeping area, and a full kitchen. We felt very comfortable and satisfied with our experience. I highly recommend the unit and this management company!!

Happy with the stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My only complaint with the house, i felt like on the add we were going to have the condo that was ocean front over looking the water. We were behind other condos. Not a huge deal. they had good beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and body boards for us to use. We loved that. The house was great and the resort has a nice pool/hot tubs. We also enjoyed the sports courts and the playground for the kids to play. id go there again. Last note. They said the would come in and clean once during out stay and never did.

Everything we hoped for

This condo was perfect for our week long vacation to Kauai with our daughter (age 6). We felt like it was the perfect location, with the best amenities. We took advantage of the pool/hot tub, grills, cliffside chairs and rental check-out items (masks, beach toys, etc). They provided plenty of beach gear in the condo, as well (chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, cooler). Despite some reviewers complaints about the lack of a/c and views, we did not feel the same. The views were beautiful on both lanai’s (despite one facing the parking area), and you can even see the ocean on the kitchen lanai. It was great for morning coffee and breakfast, or dinner. With the doors and windows open, we felt very comfortable in the evenings due to a very pleasant breeze. The only (very minor) issues we encountered- the tub drain stopper was broken so our daughter was forced to take a shower. Not a big deal for us, but I imagine you’ll want to verify if it’s been fixed if you expect to use the bath. Also, we had to go to the receptionist for coffee filters, since there were none provided. There was a place labeled for them in the kitchen, so I assumed it was just an oversight. Lastly, there were no kitchen cooking essentials (oil, salt, pepper, etc). I understood this during COVID, but it seems silly anymore. Resorts seem to do this more often and we came in expecting none. Overall, we’d highly recommend this place and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I hesitate not to give this property a 5 star rating but there are a couple things you should know:Location is amazing!! I will stay at the cliffs again but in this particular unit probably not. The tennis courts, pool, BBQ grills, bikes, and overall neighborhood were beautiful and well maintained. However, there is NO A/C and this unit is located on the 3rd floor which makes it even hotter. After a long day at the beach I wanted nothing more than to come home and cool off. Opening windows at night does help but not also enough. Also was slightly disappointed in a few of the amenities. As a family of 6 staying for 10 day I expected more than 2 laundry detergents before I had to start paying for my own. Also with 6 people there was not quite enough silverware.

The unit has no AC but even the loft was comfortable at night with the fans and slider open. Not sure where the waterfall views come in as there aren't any. No easy beach access and no walkable dining available. Would have been great to see a few food trucks like they had during covid. You can buy ground coffee at the front desk and the prices were reasonable. The pool is small and seemed sort of murky so we stayed lounging on the chairs. Bikes are free for 2 hour rides.

Summer Family Vacation

We stayed at this property for two weeks and it was perfect. Every morning and evening we would walk over to the cliffs to enjoy the views. The pool was fabulous and we loved that there were different options. My boys had fun playing basketball, pickleball, and riding bikes. This resort had it all. The condo was a perfect size for my family of six. I was a little worried about not having ac in July but with the trade winds, it was fine. We even got a little cold at night. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Relaxing Vacation Rental in Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had never stayed in the Princeville area on our previous visits to Kauai and we wanted to have the northern island experience. The apartment was on the 3rd floor, which is a must for us. Because of that, the ceilings were high and we had the fans on most of the time we were there. We love the views. The area was a little difficult to find our first night there as it is a community of condominiums. But once we got to the apartment it was a delight. The apartment is roomy (for us), nicely appointed with bamboo furnishings and Hawaiian prints used through the decor. We loved the breakfast patio and every morning, we were joined by a friendly cardinal, who actually grabbed some of my breakfast out of my bowl. The two patios (off the bedroom and off the kitchen/livingroom) mean there is a nice cross breeze. The kitchen was well appointed for our needs and we chose to eat most of our meals there. We visited the Foodland Grocery, very close by, almost every day, getting fresh papaya daily. The pool was a nice touch and although I didn't play, there are tennis and racquet ball courts on the property. There were also some basic beach supplies in the closet and we packed the chairs and some towels for any stops at the beaches nearby. Hanalei Bay is about 10 minutes away. What a beautiful little village and beach area. We went each night it wasn't raining to catch the sunsets. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. It did rain more than we are used to and on one trip to a local Tropical Botanical Garden, we just took umbrellas and had them up and down while we hiked the garden trails laid out in the forest. We were very happy with our time there and a lot of it had to do with how nice the accommodations were.

They provided a large beach umbrella, beach chairs and boogie boards - which came in handy. There was a nice breeze going through the place at night - since it was on the 3rd floor - which really helped cool it down. The pool and hottub really came in handy after a long day of hiking and just fun on the beach. We enjoyed it daily. Can't recommend this place enough - it was perfect for our family of 4 - everyone had a bed. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the top of the cliffs - it was amazing.

Loved the Cliffs!

Wonderful stay! My husband and I stayed for 8 nights with our two girls (ages 1 and 4). Beautiful grounds and pool area, playground was a bonus for the kids! The unit was clean and had everything we could need - including beach chairs/umbrella, cooler, pack n play, and a high chair - our on island host was very responsive with all requests! While we did not have nire than a "peak" view of the ocean, the place was fabulous all the same. We enjoyed the two lanais and they allowed a nice breeze to move throughout the condo. Our only complaint would be the master bed - not very comfortable at all, while the beds in the loft were very comfortable. We would definitely stay again, it made the perfect home base while we explored and relaxed!

Nice place

We thought the unit was perfect for 2 couples. We’ll equipped. Nice pool & hot tubs. Better tennis facilities than nearby resorts. Nice entertainment system with all the streaming services. We especially enjoyed the gazebo with grills on the cliff. We would stay again, but maybe upgrade to a unit with a seafront view.

Absolutely awesome place!

Beautiful place, clean, in a nice community near the ocean. Nice pool and hot tub, close to a grocery store and lots of things to do. Perfect breeze blows 24/7- just leave the windows open. Use earplugs as the roosters start about 4am, but that’s everywhere on Kauai.

Family vacation

We enjoyed our time in Princeville. Our condo was great! Very spacious and clean. The property grounds were always well kept. Our only “complaints” were the pool area didn’t live up to the expectations. It was small and disappointing. Limited seating. We only went 1 time. We loved the shuffleboard/pickleball courts, we just wish there were lights so we could play a little later. It was dark before 10:00 pm cutoff so we didn’t get to go down and play much after dinner. When it had cooled off a bit.

The Perfect Getaway in Paradise - views of the ocean and sunsets

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have two teenagers making this two bedroom perfect for the family. It has a beautiful open space floor plan with a large master. From the kitchen and patio - there are peekaboo views of the ocean and sunset. The TV is Roku with Netflix and other streaming channels. All items are high-end with chairs, umbrellas, and a cooler for the beach at your disposal.The grounds are stunning with every inch perfectly manicured with deep lush tropical foliage. The pool is awesome with three sides. The front is loud and family-focused with two waterfalls. The back is quiet for adults also with waterfalls - surrounded by jungle plants. Our favorite location was the lawn overlooking the ocean and sunset. There are also several BBQs and tables to have a sunset dinner (which we did). There's even a path to the water on the other side of the hedges.Lastly, they have bikes at no cost to ride around Priceville with. Outstanding experience. Highly recommend.

Great! Very organized!

We loved this location, and I loved how the kitchen was labeled and organized. That made me very happy. Everything was clean, and we enjoyed the pool and all the beach supplies. The only thing that freaked me out a little was leaving all windows and doors open all night due to lack of AC. The backdoor wouldn’t lock. We were on the 3rd floor, so I got over it. It is fun to watch the sunset at the end of the property. Don’t miss it. This is the best place to stay on the island as it is SO beautiful. My last thing is that the $500 deposit was steep. We should get every penny back, but it shocked me. Finally, we did love this place. It was great with a family.
