Very warm welcome from hosts, apartment well stocked. Cozy and convenient. The shower is a little small if you are tall but otherwise everything was lovely

Easy, comfortable stay. We had everything we needed, cooked a yummy meal in the kitchen and slept well! Easy driving access to Portland for adventures. Communicative, kind hosts and overall a smooth experience.

Lovely MIL set up. Roomy, clean and quiet. Just a short drive to the sights of Portland. Hosts are a great couple and willing to share their ideas and experiences about what to do in the area.

Val and her family made us feel SO welcomed. The accommodations were spacious, and the location was ideal. We were able to enjoy Freeport, Portland, and Falmouth. Truly felt right at home and the dogs were a special bonus! Would stay here again anytime.

Val and Jim's place was absolutely perfect! Clean and well stocked, quiet! The gardens in back are beautiful with the added bonus of 2 delightful Golden Retrievers! They are wonderful hosts. We'll be back for sure :)

The apartment was perfect for my sister and I. It has a nice size queen bedroom as well as a full size bed in living room. There is a very well stocked kitchen and washer and dryer if you need to do laundry. We so enjoyed visiting with the owners, Val & Jim and received awesome recommendations from them on where to eat as well as best. beaches and places to visit. They are some of the best hosts we have ever had and we will certainly stay with them again if we ever pass this way again! Stay here, you will be so glad you did.

Apartment Stay Near Portland

The property was easy to find using our phones GPS and there was adequate parking for multiple vehicles. Check-in and check out we’re easy. The kitchen and dining area offered plenty of room for cooking and eating, and was well stocked with cooking and serving tools. Val and Jim were very kind and helpful. They are very knowledgeable about the area and made some wonderful recommendations for restaurants and activities for us to try. This location was close to downtown Portland (15-20 minutes) and less than 90 minutes from Boothbay (2 of our destinations during our trip). We really enjoyed our stay!

Great place to stay when visiting the Portland area

Despite the attractive location for vacation and fun, I was actually in the Portland area on business, and the Garden Apartment was a perfect home base for me. The location made it easy for me to get to my different meetings/events and was a great spot for me to host a lengthy meeting with a colleague too. The house is located two minutes from I-95/Maine Turnpike, but you would never know it when you are there - can't hear or see it until you are right on top of it. The apartment is great - roomy and comfortable and fully equipped with everything you could ever want/need, and Val and Jim (and the pups!) are wonderfully kind hosts (the whoopie pie welcome was special too ;) ) Thanks for a great stay - hope to have the opportunity to return!

Lovely place

The upstairs apartment has a private entrance with approximately 12 narrow stairs to navigate. It is nicely appointed and has everything you need. Val and Jim have anticipated your every need. It’s was a great location for us. We wish we had more time to enjoy their beautiful garden and outdoor seating area that looked so relaxing We do recommend this property.

A beautiful place to stay in Falmouth

The owner, Val, welcomed us warmly into the well-equipped apartment above their double garage. She gave us lots of information about activities in the area and more, to ensure we had a great stay. Their two dogs are very friendly. And the garden around the house, which we had access to, is very green and home to lots of birds and even a cute little squirrel.

Summer wedding

Ideal location, close to every place we needed to get to. Very informative and wonderful hosts with their furry pets! Fully furnished, even with an iron and ironing board. Stairs are steep, shower door leaked onto floor. Nonetheless, would gladly stay here again! Thanks to Jim and Val.

Fit the bill

Very adequate for our 3 day stay. Garden in back was very pretty and we were able to sit out with our family and visit though not able to use fire pit which was disappointing. Inside right when you go in downstairs door there is a strong wet-dog odor, but once up the steep stairs to apartment there is no odor. Owners had everything we needed in stock including pizza in freezer and drinks in fridge. Beds were super comfortable and firm. Their two dogs were outside often and friendly. Overall, we were pleased with our stay.

Affordable and comfy

We stayed for the weekend and it was very pleasant and comfortable. Rules were straightforward and nothing unrealistic. We felt we had privacy, and it was pleasant to chat with the owners, and as a bonus we got to interact with their beautiful dogs, which made it all the nicer. They gave us great advice on places to go and made us feel very welcome.

Well stocked and comfortable

Our hosts were so helpful in every way, even helping with luggage. And such a beautiful and maintained property. It was a real delight to stay there. Cool comfortable cotton sheets did not disappoint but made us feel right at home.

This is a really lovely, spacious apartment. Very thoughtfully outfitted with everything you would need. Great hosts and beautiful furry greeters! The stairs could be an issue if you had any physical challenges. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Falmuoth escape at THE GARDEN

Jim and Val are great hosts along with there kids (Peanut Butter Whiskey, and Jack Burbon Daniel’s). The apartment was comfortable, clean, well stocked with everything you would need. The grounds are goregous, would have liked to see them in another month. Had a great time, location was perfect for us.
