Wonderful Stay in Las Terrenas

We absolutely loved the condo! We arrived late but had thorough instructions for entering the property and the condo. We were welcomed with a platter of fruit which we were so grateful for after the long trip from Texas. The condo was just as pictured online. It was very comfortable. We had plenty of bath and beach towels. The king bed was comfy and the air conditioning worked well. The view from the beautifully decorated balcony was amazing to wake up to each morning. We've stayed at the Playa Bonitas residences twice previously but found that the privacy and view from the second story made all the difference. Last but not least, Nathalie was the best. She was very responsive to any questions we had, and she really went above and beyond for us. Las Terrenas is a special place. The beach is beautiful and usually calm in front of the complex. There are lots of chairs and umbrellas available. Also, the boardwalk is so convenient for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktails. If traveling to Las Terrenas, it good to have a car so you can explore the area. There are so many fantastic restaurants and beaches to see. This is our go to place for rest and relaxation. We will definitely be back and hope to stay in this condo again.

Très bel appartement sur Playa Buonita

appartement moderne fonctionnel bien équipé avec un excellent emplacement sur la plage dans un condo stress bien entretenu L'assistance sur place réagît rapidement mais les problèmes rencontrés ont été nombreux ( climatisation en panne, rideau d une chambre cassé, robinet du lavabo non fixé, toilettes HS..) La procedure d'arrivée est trop sommaire : on ne reçoit les coordonnées que 48 h avant ce qui inquiète car on est sans nouvelles et se résume au code de la boite à clé sans un accueil montrant comment utiliser les différents appareils et vérifiant leur fonctionnement Un appartement de luxe meritant un suivi plus précis

Playa Bonita Beach Residences - Nice with Caveats

10 - location is beautiful and away from the noise and fumes of Les Terannas. 8 - cleanliness of the unit was ok. If you are from Canada or USA and expecting 5 star hotel cleanliness for the price, this is not the place. We swept the place twice and still needed to wear socks or sandals in the place. Dishes appeared clean, but we rewashed everything.7 - we had issues with the fridge hour zero (it was not working as in melting ice from the freezer and pool of water on the floor). It took a tech to come in and reset things7 - a coffee maker we were told did not brew coffee??? Ended up doing a pour over the filter with hot kettle water for the rest of the week. Grrr6 - the main contact was responsive at first, but when we had further issues or questions, disappeared. We had to go back to the owner for final check out informationI would rate the place 7/10 and my wife 8/10. We are not high maintenance folks, but the fridge issue right off the start set the tone and it went a bit down hill from there.The area is beautiful, but there is no Uber and taxis are difficult to get.Police love stopping gringos, so if you are driving, stay below the speed limit and keep a couple thousand pesos for shake downs (we were stopped even though cars were passing us… when I asked how much it started at 2000 DR pesos but we paid the nice police officer 1000 DRP). You can ask for a ticket apparently, but no idea how that will go.Enjoy!

Beautiful location and place

The condo is spacious, clean and the location is perfect on the beach walking distance to nearby restaurants and amenities. Hosts were responsive to some minor issues during our stay and were very friendly. Would book again.

Can't Wait to Return

We recently returned from our trip to Las Terrenas. The condo, Playa Bonita Residences, and beach are all incredibly beautiful and well taken care of. We enjoyed floating in the ocean in front of the condo, long walks on the beach/path, and walking to the many nearby beach restaurants/bars. We took the moto taxis (moto conchos) into the heart of LT, and it was a blast. We felt safe and had no issues. We also ordered groceries, beer, and champagne for delivery using the Komida app. The hosts were very attentive and easy to work with. They provided us with easy check-in (which was late at night)/out, scheduled airport transportation, and promptly answered our questions. We love this location and are returning in a few months.

Best on the beach!

We stayed in two properties at Playa Bonita Beach Residences and this was by far the best! We saw a few others where friends were staying none of which had this one beat! We awakened to an incredible view of the ocean, not to mention the calming sound of waves. This condo has the reputation of being best designed and most comfortable among the regular renters. We will be back!

Beautiful beach

The listing is accurate. The apartment was very nice. The beach was perfect with soft sand, plenty of shade, great waves for boogie boarding. There are several restaurants where you can eat out. Going in to town was expensive in the taxi ($40 roundtrip) so we only did it once to get groceries and cash from the ATM. We also used the delivery service (Komida! App) once and it was quick. We had what we needed in the kitchen to cook - a few spices but no condiments. We slept with the doors open for the breeze and to hear the ocean. It was very comfortable without the AC. There were not enough beach towels for all of us so maybe bring your own. There is some construction going on currently in some of the other apartments which was loud but after reaching out to Mauray, she was able to speak with them and the noise improved dramatically. Overall, a great stay!

Great place to relax

We enjoyed our stay at the Residences in Playa Bonita the property was beautiful and the condo was 1st class, as advertised. The Playa Bonita area is perfect place to kick back on a sunny beach watching the surfers, going for a walk on paved beach walk or enjoying the sunsets with your favorite beverage or meal at one of the many restaurants along the strip. We look forward to coming back again soon!

Playa Bonita is a treasure

We had a wonderful time in Las Terrenas and in this apartment. It had everything you need for a great stay. We especially loved the outdoor space where we had breakfast each morning and even did some grilling for one lunch and a dinner. It was perfect. Plus the proximity to the beach was perfect. The beds were comfy, the layout great - all was good! I would 100% recommend you rent this apartment...we hope to again next time we come to Las Terrenas. And there will definitely be a next time!

Beautiful but...

Everything about the location and the experience was amazing. The apartment was beautifully decorated and very well kept. Our only issue was the cleanliness of the kitchen and bathroom. Some of the clean dishes had food on them. The white towels looked brownish and the bathroom floors where dirty. But those only appear as flaws in context of an otherwise pristine experience.

Idyllic Retreat

The adage “you get what you pay for” certainly applies here. Before we even left home, we were in contact with Property manager Nidia (through WhatsApp). She provided instructions for accessing the unit, arranged a taxi to pick us up at the airport and was very responsive to any questions throughout our stay. We arrived very late at night and our taxi was waiting for us, as promised. There is a lock box which contains the front door and safe keys. We found it handy to leave the key in the lock box when we went out. The unit is very clean, beautifully decorated (exactly like the pictures) and spacious. The kitchen has everything you would need and everything works. Drinking water is plentiful and easily accessible from a large container under the sink that is hooked up to the water dispenser on the refrigerator. The beds were firm but comfortable. It is very humid, but we kept the fans on and the patio doors open when we were in the unit and the temperature was very comfortable. We didn’t find it necessary to use the air conditioning. As the picture shows, you can see the beach (and hear the surf) from the unit. The entire complex is very quiet, very safe, very beautiful. There is never a lack of chairs at either the beach or pool. The water is warm and the sand is soft, the beach is clean. You can walk along the beach for miles (and we did walk to Playa Coson). We did not rent a vehicle and didn’t miss having one. We got a motorcycle taxi (motoconcho, 300RD, one way) to get into town. We went into town only a couple of times for groceries and to eat, but we found it wasn’t really necessary. Downtown is very busy/noisy. Lots of vehicles and exhaust fumes. There is a great app called Komida which will deliver groceries, liquor/beer and takeout to your door. It was great! When you don’t want to cook, there are also a number of restaurants on Playa Bonita that we frequented. The property owner, Mauray, gives yoga classes near the pool. Can’t say enough nice things about her. If you want a relaxing holiday, quiet and safe location and all the comforts of home in idyllic surroundings, this is the place. We can’t recommend highly enough.

Clean Condo, Lovely View, Poor Property Management

This is a clean, well appointed condo with a decent view of the beach/ocean. The porch/patio was very nice to dine and relax on. You can see and hear (slightly) the ocean, although you're not overly close. But, it's just a short walk down to lounge in one of the property's lounge chairs. The property that the condo is on is well maintained and security is abundant. The condos are all clustered together, and you need to walk a bit to the pool, which was pretty vacant most of our stay. There is a small bar at the pool - if it's open. The rest of the property looks like it might be undergoing some construction. The condo/property is at the end of a paved walk which is lined with bed-and-breakfasts, other home rentals, a surf shop, and several beach bars. It's lovely. Our only issues with the condo had to do with the property manager. We arrived to a home that had not been fully turned over. The welcome packet was no where to be found (so not suggestions on where to get groceries etc - we had to wing it), the internet password was not posted, and the water supply was low. We contacted the property manager, Sophia, but she couldn't be bothered to come locate any of these things or re-supply the water. We were out of water after 24 hours and ended up needing to go purchase our own from the bar at the pool (not expensive). A day and a half later we found Sophia at our door coming to drop off water (but we'd already bought our own). Not a huge deal, but obnoxious - especially after needing to search for quite a while for any info on how/where to get water as we couldn't get a response from Sophia. Upon checkout you will need to do a walk-through with the property manager (Sophia). She arrived late, but we waited for her. As we were getting ready to drive off to the airport she showed up. She then let us know that she hadn't checked the electric meter before we came - so she just charged us the base rate, which was crappy as we had intentionally been conserving electric. The interactions with Sophia all revolved around "sorry, but not my fault", which was a very strange customer service tactic. But, again, the condo itself was nice. The cleaning woman did a great job cleaning the house, even if we were still in the unit. We probably wouldn't stay here again as there are so many other options with likely better hospitality - but the condo itself isn't a bad place to stay.

Wonderful Playa Bonita Condo

We spent five weeks in this great condo and the experience couldn't have been better. From our first contact with owner Mauray everything went perfectly. The condo is really comfortable and well furnished and equipped, the whole of the Playa Bonita Beach Residences facility is maintained to a very high level, and the setting is idyllic. Nidia, Sofia and Ramon (who take care of on-site management for Mauray and numbers of other Play Bonita property owners) are all extremely efficient, helpful, prompt in responding to any questions and also just interesting to talk to. Anyela, the cleaner, was unfailingly cheery -- as well as trying to help me improve my terrible pronunciation of Spanish :) Outside the complex, the beachfront walkway offers a variety of restaurant picks from charming Coyamar to lively Acaya at Mosquito to our favourite Chef Ney and Jimmy's newly opened Ney's. As for the beach, the end by the condo is great for swimming and ideal for kids while further along where it's steeper with big breakers it's good for surfers.

Beautiful place, the best ocean view,amazing apartment! You will fall in love! We spent 3 nights around New Year’s eve. The apartment is incredible! You will feel at home, so comfortable, extremely clean and has everything you need! Everything ! Even screwdrivers, cross and flat! :) Fully furnished kitchen! 1 kW/h of electricity costs about 15 Dominican pesos ! $ 30 that we paid in advance is enough even though we used an oven and a dishwasher! Check the power meter on Check In and Check Out! Gas boiler works perfect! WiFi . Smart TV. Cable channels! The owner of the apartment is a very kind person ! Always, quickly and with understanding answers your questions! Highly recommend!

Beautiful!

Mauray's condo is beautiful!! We more than enjoyed our stay. Daniel, the property manager, was great. He checked us in and out and was available in between for any questions we had. The housekeeper did a great job of tidying up after us every day. She did leave the AC on one day in one of the bedrooms, but I just turned it off when we returned. The last days we were there, we were practically the only people on the beach or at the condo!! The location is perfect; The condo is brand new; and Playa Bonita is gorgeous! We hope to return again!

Playa Bonita beach residence the best kept secret in the Dominican Republic!

We loved our stay at Casa Bonita Alena. This new beachfront apartment was only 100 steps from the surf and sand. Every day was an adventure watching the ocean change to all different colors of blue and green. We love the cool breeze and the sound of the waves rolling on the beach and crashing on the picturesque rocks. It was truely a magical experience. The apartment is Elegantly decorated with all the comforts of home.

My name is Mauray campagna, I am a 550 certified yoga teacher and founder of Yoga Life Villa Retreat Center and Exhale Yoga and Aireal Studio in Las Terrenas, a short 10 minute drive from PBBR. I am a US citizen from California and a residence of the Dominican Republic. I came to this beautiful country 10 years ago. I made Las Terrenas my home in January 2021.

I purchased this property before it was even built. I loved the position the views of the famous rocks of Playa Bonita beach along with extraordinary ever changing sunsets and cooling ocean breezes.

May 2025 the apartment has been remodeled to include additional amenities such as wine cooler, icemaker, and a TV in the master bedroom. Evening views of the beach and walking path are the most beautiful and the Los Delines Development
