Quiet neighborhood with water view

Everything was as stated. Response to communication was quick, answered all questions about the property. Comfortable stay, easy access to home, directions were clearly written and easily understood. Nice touches were- having coffee and creamer provided as well as clean towels and supplies such as garbage bags.

Family Fun

We had a great stay here with our family. The location is great and the view of the water and sunrise was nice. We loved the quiet street and took daily walks with our children.

Comfortable, clean and welcoming!

Great property that feels like home. Across the street from the lake but very accessible with nice neighbors. Nice sandy bottom at lake access. Kitchen was stocked with all small appliances and cookware needed. Lots of towels and all basic care items. Furniture was very nice and comfortable.

Lovely Lake Home

This was a lovely home for a relaxing family vacation. Open family room, dining area, and kitchen was great for everyone to hang out together. Pool table was a big hit too. Beautiful view of lake from the deck and the dock. Friendly neighborhood. Appreciated the cards and board games along with the detailed informational book about the home/area. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Quiet neighborhood, spacious rental!

We had a relaxing week at this lake house in a quiet neighborhood on a dead end street that is set back from the main road. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable. There was plenty of space for our group to relax. If you are a cook, you will need to bring mixing bowls and platters, etc. If you rent a boat or do water sports, you may want to bring a cooler and some beach towels for this rental. There were many things that needed replaced and added for this rental. I will send a note to owner for these suggestions. I would stay here again! We enjoyed our time here!

Wonderful stay

The home was just as pictured, and plenty of room for all! Very clean! Nice to have actual beds for all guests. Great location. Dock and ladder into the water were nice features, nice sandy bottom for hanging around on floats. Great to have washer/dryer, dishwasher. Only a few things- pool cues needed tips, hard to play well. Bathroom tubs- slippery bottoms and nothing to hang on to- those of us 50-80 yrs need that for safety! Easy fix- tub mats and suction handles on the shower wall. Despite the weather, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home! Great family memories! Thank you for the wonderful location and home

Devils Lake stay

Overall we had a great time. The property worked for us due to size and location. I have a few suggestions. Unfortunately, we could not use the grill. Pretty beat up and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. I didn't bother contacting owners as we made due. Also. I would suggest looking into getting the stains out of the carpet. It didn't stop us from enjoying the pool table just not a good look when we arrived. Maybe keep a leaf blower on property so decks can be blown off. The 3 bathrooms are a huge plus. The dock was as described and the water was crystal clear and had a sandy bottom. Thank you

Lovely and relaxing

We were pleased to find the home even nicer than the photos. Very clean and although not state of the art (who wants to pay for that anyway?) appliances all worked well. We did have to replace a battery in the thermostat but once that was done it worked fine. The home is first floor handicap accessible but the bathroom is not conducive to someone who cannot climb over tub. It wasn't a problem for us but good to know if you need that degree of accessibility. Beds were pretty comfortable and furniture was really comfortable. The lake is wonderful and having our own dock was great! Do watch out for the sandbar that's under two feet at times and runs all the way across from the huge house that kind of sits on a little peninsula to the other side. Hostess was very helpful and responsive. Neighbors are friendly. Marina staff also friendly and helpful. Only suggestions would be key lock box is tricky so might want to replace, tv is very limited but we brought our own travel Roku so that might be a suggestion, and a few larger mixing type bowls would have been useful. Also ad local menus and a place to review to your notebook. We like Two Lakes Tavern and Highland Inn. Also Kim at the Michigan Gypsy Boutique was delightful. Thanks for sharing your home with us. It was just what we needed.

Somewhat disappointing - house in need of multiple repairs

Expected by pictures for home to be dated, but not in barely working order. I asked 2 weeks in advance if they had a grill - she answered yes. When we got there, in the laminated binder, it said only right side and middle worked. So obviously this has been an ongoing issue they chose not to fix. My husband turned the gas on and it was leaking and smelling terribly of gas we deemed unsafe to light. I brought $80 worth of food to grill for 2 days now done inside on stove. Multiple sliding glass doors were hard to view out of due to broken seals/foggy and again in binder we were instructed not to open several and one only part way. Upstairs bedroom railing on balcony was broken and a big safety feature. Refrigerator door handle taped on with sticky duct tape. A big bees nest was inside wooden deck w several severely loose boards. We attempted to sit on the deck multiple times but it seemed to stir up the bees so gave up. House in need of multiple repairs. Not sure if it is the owners, management team or who that is dropping the ball but these issues are obviously ongoing and not new.

Great place and host!

House was "as advertised". Very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Quiet, friendly neighborhood. Plenty of parking space (easily fits 6 vehicles - could fit more). All the comforts of home. Fully equipped kitchen. Has both a standard coffee pot and Keurig machine. Plenty of towels, bathroom handsoap, t.p., etc. Living room furniture very comfortable and the two beds we used were comfortable. Host was very responsive and had great communication. Family members and I used the space for a long weekend while attending a family wedding and it was the perfect place for getting personal time with everyone. The outside deck has seat benching all around the edges (in addition to the patio furniture that we did not use) so plenty of seating for a large group. Had an outdoor gas grill but we did not use. Had a great stay. Others have commented on the TV and we agree - not many channels - but we were not there to watch TV so it was fine for us. We caught the daily news and the World Series Game 6 on local channels so we were set. You'll have to catch other games on your mobile device(s). Internet worked fine - no issues. Overall a nice, comfortable, spacious place to enjoy time with family and friends.

Just like staying at a friend’s cottage

We had such a great time. While it is not on the lake, it is close by, with views from the front of the house and easy SAFE access to the lake. The entire neighborhood is safe and friendly. The cottage is like staying at a friend’s place. Lots of linens and kitchenware and even some kitchen staples. The floor plan is perfect and should be highlighted in the listing. The master bedroom and bathroom are on the main floor and very quiet. My daughter and boyfriend made snacks at 11 pm while watching a movie and we didn’t hear a thing. The upstairs has a bonus family room with enormous windows looking towards the lake and a great spot as a second hangout with multi-generation families. Seriously did not hear a thing. Another great feature is that there is a water softener—what a nice surprise!! Cottages are notorious for having sketchy well water but this water was great! Truly enjoyed this gem and the owners were great to work with.

Another great week at the lake!

Many thanks to Sue and Family for opening up there home for others to share. This is our second year staying at their place and we appreciate everything about it! We have no client complaints about anything, from Check in all the way to check out. I’m sure we will be back again next year!

Lake Week

We had a wonderful stay at this property on Devil's Lake. It was the perfect spot to be at with our littles. I loved that it was not directly on the water (for safety), but had a great dock with water access. Everything went smoothly and the house fit our needs well.

Perfect Memorial Day Weekend

My friends and I had a great time relaxing at this beautiful home. The upstairs porch had a gorgeous view and the water access was so nice! Things were exactly as described and the hosts were very fast to respond to questions! You won’t regret booking this gorgeous spot!

Weekend at the Lake

Susan was a pure pleasure to work with. She responded quickly and helped with all the crazy questions I had!! We loved this quiet location with lake views and access and rented a boat which was a blast! Highly recommend for a nice getaway!

Great Staycation!

We booked this property for a staycation with family and it turned out great! There had been a pretty big storm prior to our arrival, and there was no power in the area. But the Thompson’s were great property owners, who offered us options and solitons, and went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. The property was exactly as advertised and we had a great time on the lake. Thank you Jeff, Sue and Austin for being part of a great trip!

Fabulous Week!

We had a great stay at Susan's place! While we never met the family, the process to check in was so easy and efficient, there was no need to. The house was spacious and clean and had everything we could possibly need to ensure a great stay. I love the kitchen/great room area as we were all able to be together instead of me spending time isolated in a separate kitchen. The master bedroom is huge and has an attached full bath. The house sits across the road from the water, but thee is a dedicated dock (left side) that is shared with a neighbor (right side). Large decks surround the house with additional decks off the rec room (upstairs) and a second bedroom (upstairs) as well as the master. There is a very clean shed (this family is organized!) and mudroom/laundry that we were happy to have. This is by far the nicest home we have rented on DL!
