There was no heat in the house our first night. I called the owner the next morning and he started the in wall gas heater in the living room. Later that day I had to ask for space heaters. With that and the fireplace we could heat only the living room and one of three bedrooms. As a result one of our daughters didn’t make the trip.

Peaceful Relaxation!

Our stay at Cottontail Cottage was wonderful. The hosts have thought of every detail to make this cottage cozy and relaxing. The view of the mountains from the screened in porch is awesome. We so enjoyed our stay and hope to return one day. We were welcomed by our host Peter with all info we needed for our stay and fresh flowers! He and his wife also brought us cookies!

Perfect getaway

We loved this perfect secluded cottage! The view was fabulous, the cottage well kept and clean with lots of peace and quiet! The walk to the nearby lake with trails was wonderful! We'll be back.

My husband, his brother and his wife and I enjoyed our getaway after their mother passed away.

Very well maintained, beautiful home, no house right close to you. Owners had made fresh homemade cookies and fresh cut flowers for us upon arrival. General location to go visit different towns.

Hiking destination for Spring Break

The property was very well maintained, excellently appointed with everything you might need, and very welcoming. We walked to both the Black Rock Mountain Lake Trail and the James Edmond Trail and enjoyed a picnic lunch at the state park visitor center. Great location and will definitely stay again!!

Simply the best

We had stayed previously and wanted to return. This home is so clean, cozy, has the most awesome screened in front porch with a beautiful view, and an abundance of games for entertainment. My grandson enjoyed playing with his toys on the front porch and learning to play Uno. We built a fire in the fire pit for roasting marshmallows as well as building a fire in the fireplace. Truly felt like home without all the responsibilities!

Family Mountain Exploration & Relaxation

A great time with our high school & elementary-aged sons and our fury baby! We hiked Black Rock Mountain, Mud Creek Falls, and Tallulah Gorge! Enjoyed a distillery for just mom & dad, fun factory for kiddos, and the Dillard House restaurant just to name a few of the great ideas that Peter & Debbie so thoughtfully recommended thru their provided pamphlets! Thank you for a lovely stay, the cabin was cozy, we enjoyed puzzles, games, lots of family time with our precious boys! Backyard may not be suitable for very young children, as it’s partially fenced with a cliff. Overall, lovely stay! We appreciate your hospitality which overflowed with generosity!

Thanksgiving at Cottontail Cottage

We LOVED our stay! Cottontail Cottage was everything we hoped. Our children are getting older and finding time to get together as a family is hard. This was the perfect place! It was spacious but cozy. The cabin was spotless. It had everything we needed to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner and spend time together playing games, watching Christmas movies, reading, and taking walks. The cabin feels isolated in all the best ways but is still easy to get to and a short trip to town. The owners were welcoming and kind. Everything was so easy! I didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back! For whatever it's worth, I am a researcher by trade, and I spent a lot of time selecting a cabin, reading reviews, studying pictures. You can trust that this is where you want to stay!

Great mountain cabin

The host were very kind. We had cookies and fresh flowers on arrival. The cabin is a great location and easily accessible, good parking and few steps. The house was well stocked and very clean. Screened porch had a pretty view. Easy check in and out.

Peaceful and cozy cottage

This was a delightful cottage. It was warm and inviting. We loved everything about Cottontail Cottage. Our host, Peter, was very charming and went out of his way to welcome us. He even returned a sweater I had left there. This cottage was so close to everything we were interested in. The farm across the street was very enjoyable to watch. The flowers blooming everywhere were just lovely to see. We loved sitting on the front porch for morning coffee and watching the fog lift. The warm blanket was a welcome comfort in the evening sitting on the porch. This was a very much needed getaway for us. We look forward to returning again. Also, the cookies were scrumptious!!! Thank you for opening Cottontail Cottage to us.

Little Mountain Gem

We had so much fun staying in this cottage. It was convenient to access property(no steep, curvy roads or small parking places), very clean, and everything you need to enjoy a mountain stay. Our favorite parts were the screened porch with beautiful view, the short walk to and around Black Rock Mountain Lake, and the matching recliners!! The location is great. Brasstown Bald, Ana Ruby Falls, Talulah Gorge were three places we visited and enjoyed hikes. Black rock Mountain has great trails, too. Peter met us and showed us around the cottage. Can’t wait to visit again.

Absolutely Awesome

This cottage is one of a kind. We have stayed at many VRBO rentals and this one was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked like no other, the rooms were clean, the screen porch was a great way to start our morning especially since it rained the whole week. All of the personal touches were remarkable. The information manual was so well put together. We will return to this cottage for sure.

Winter weekend in the mountains

Peter and Debbie are wonderful hosts and the cabin is lovely. It has everything you need with lots of attention to details. Peter and Debbie met us at the cabin for a late check-in and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

We came to the North Georgia mountains for a visit and fell in love with the majestic beauty of these Blue Ridge Mountains but we moved here because of the people! The good folks here are so friendly, warm and caring. We have been renting Cottontail Cottage for more than 20 years and based on customer reviews, we have always maintained a consistent 5-star excellent rating! We treat everyone who stays at our cabin as if they are a guest in our own home. We have met some truly wonderful guests and lucky for they have become cherished friends. Just being in our Mountains makes you feel like you've found a little piece of heaven! Cottontail Cottage has been an extraordinary and wonderful experience, beginning with your warm welcome and gracious hospitality. Our weekend in Rabun County has been memorable beyond all expectations! We enjoyed the full moon rising through the gap on Friday night and the heavy morning mist on Saturday. This has been a perfect getaway in the mountains! Rabun County and Cottontail Cottage are absolutely gorgeous! Our favorite moments have been sitting on the front porch rockers taking in the gorgeous view and sitting in front of the fireplace each night. We took a few day trips which were wonderful. I think I took 3 rolls of film in the 4 days we were here. We will have to save the rest for next year when we plan on coming back to Cottontail Cottage! Thank you for your hospitality.
