Out of this world!

Staying in a cabin with Vacasa was an amazing experience! We tried to stay longer but the cabin was booked! I highly recommended this cabin and the next time I book we will stay definitely a week! The highlight of the week was the hot tub and the fire pit and the beautiful walk and scenery.

Great Thanksgiving Trip to Blue Ridge

Place as advertised. Great location right on the river. Everything worked as it should. The kids want to go back in the summer when they can jump in the river. We’ll be back.

Disappointed

Great location on the river but this place needs a lot of TLC, (maintenance), We received a message that we could get into the cabin earlier than the normal check in time, Great, but when we called about a major problem , the lady told me to vacate the cabin promptly. The code to the front door did not work. wrong code, wrong instructions, not sure. But we could still entered the cabin thru the unlocked sliding glass door. Next day we received a new code, with new instructions. and easy to enter the cabin. I may well be better if we could talk with someone who can actually correct sone issue with this cabin. We still had a good time In Blue Ridge and we usually do. We have stayed in many cabins thru the years and will continue to do so. Alex

Perfect Location

Pretty cabin in a beautiful location. Cabin was pretty and comfortable. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was that it was an older cabin. We will definitely stay in it again on our next visit.

Pros: The house was clean and decorated as described. The location was wonderful. We enjoyed the sound of the river, nature and the deer who appeared daily at the river’s edge or crossed right beside the cabin. Loved the screened in porch. Cons: The house is VERY dark. The pictures make it look very bright, but that is not the case. The hot tub needs a major overhaul it to be completely replaced. Many jets don’t work and the water turned cloudy after one use. The major complaint we have is that we did not receive the code to enter the house as indicated when we rented. I texted them and was given a four digit code, but it’s a 6-digit code, so….could not get in. Management contacted us timely, but their 6-digit code did not work either. They also could not remotely access the lock box. Still unable to get in. The property manager said that the key in the lockbox would open the door. Nope!! Still waiting on the deck to enter. The property manager did come to let us in, but this is not a good way to start. Also, Vacasa gives a Wi-Fi name and password, but it is not what the one in the house is called and the Wi-Fi is not password protected. Not good. Waited an hour to get access to the rental. It’s good thing we did not arrive late at night. Seems that there are some things that management needs to address with this house.

Nice cabin - needs some work though.

Let’s do the bad first: Hot tub did not have proper chlorine levels and was not shocked upon arrival. Smelled swampy and pungent. I fumbled around and found the shock treatment and that seemed to help some. There were chlorine granules in the storage closet but no way to measure the chlorine level in the hot tub so I didn’t add any. Also, the hot tub was leaking and dripping below underneath the deck/porch. Serious wood rot concerns here as well. A few Kitchen drawers were just broken and off the rails. Also, the temperature control knob was broken in the fridge. We stocked it and opened it a few hours later to get some beverages and realized everything was basically still lukewarm. I used a screwdriver and was able to turn the metal piece the knob should be sitting over to make the fridge cold and it worked after that. Bathroom towels left you COVERED in fuzz...so bad we just went to Walmart and bought 2 bath sheets lol. Parking. The only parking spot is under the deck and it’s not super convenient to get to. There’s no circle drive like the cabin next door. You have to pull up and back in at an angle. No problem, just a little inconvenient if you have a bigger truck and you’re trying to get out. Now - the good. LOCATION!! This was nicely secluded and right on the river which was awesome. The fire pit and picnic table are nice additions as well. The living room and gas fireplace was nice. Speaking of fireplace, the original photos I saw online were of a wood burning fireplace, but it’s gas with a timer switch on the wall which is really convenient. The living room and bedrooms were nice. Beds slept well and pillows were quite comfy. Bathrooms were also very nice and clean. Only a 10-12 min drive into town as well, so you can be anywhere pretty quickly. If the nagging issues listed above could be corrected, this would be 4-5 stars easily.

Nice cabin

This was a very nice cabin. The good - The cabin was small but spacious and the access to the river was super close. It was nice that gas was provided for the grill and the hot tub on the covered deck was really nice. The not so good - There was a problem accessing the WIFI that never did get resolved. Also, there are some pans in the kitchen that desperately need replaced. The neighbors next door were pretty loud one evening so that was kind of annoying too.

The mountains are calling

We like the comfortable bed and river views. Floors should be cleaned better and outdoor plastic chairs near firepit are dangerous on slope down to river. Otherwise overall a good stay.

The view is amazing.

Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. We took the scenic trip suggested by a booklet the owner had left in the unit and once we got back to the cabin and sat down by the firepit with our little fire going, we said, "this is the most perfect view there is". We also really enjoyed the suspension bridge, a must if you are there and make sure you go to Mercier Orchards and pick the apples!
