Bienvenido a The Dragonfly Ranch

Imagínese despertar a una visión de la belleza tranquila ... Al salir a una gran terraza de 3.000 pies cuadrados como sus ojos captan la vista exuberante de caballos pastando, flores silvestres en flor, cielo sin fin y una vista al mar con no otra casa para ser visto. Sólo tú y el mundo natural enclavado en las colinas de la costa central ..

El Dragonfly Ranch fue originalmente una parte de un 6,000 acres rancho español histórico llamado Asunción (o al levantarse), el Asunción tomó su nombre debido a su gran altitud (1800 pies). La vista es muy similar a la del Castillo Hearst es, ya que es la misma elevación, a las montañas más rodantes. Lo sorprendente es que la mitad de los 6.000 acres ni siquiera está vallada por lo que se puede caminar durante horas sin tener que tocar el pavimento o simplemente caminar por la 3. 5 millas camino privado sinuoso.
Esta propiedad es tan único que es verdaderamente algo que uno tiene que experimentar para creer lo mágico que es.

Dragonfly Ranch was magical!! Part ranch, part nature reserve, and part museum with all the amazing antiques! We were blown away by the warm decor, breathtaking views, and total seclusion without a house or car in sight. This place is special, truly in a league of its own. We can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful house and setting

Beautiful House full or character. We had a very relaxing time with wonderful views and hot tub over looking the hills and ocean. Our three girls loved feeding and petting the horses and the cat.

If you want to experience the definition of quiet…

Just me and a friend went to get away. This house is down a very remote road four miles from an entry gate. Only two other houses in the area but you cannot even see them from the deck. Everything everyone says in reviews is right on, the only thing that confused us was the hiking trail. There’s a sign a bit down the road that says hiking trail and when you start on it, you get about 40 feet and someone has put wire across it with a sign that says no trespassing no hiking, so that was confusing. I don’t know why the hiking trail sign is still there then. We did want to try to hike down to the pond that you can see from the deck, but all access looked a little too steep for us. We did spend time on the deck which was thoroughly enjoyable, and the silence is deafening. In this plugged in age, it was such a relief to not hear a thing. Feeding the horses every morning was great and they are down to one cat and he’s super friendly. The house does have everything except Kleenex, so bring your own Kleenex. I wish the doors had screens on them because the air quality is so wonderful. I wanted all the doors open, but there are no screens and bugs would get in and the cat would get in. A note to vegetarian‘s, this house is decorated as a ranch, so there’s things that might upset you like an animal hide on the master bathroom floor, horns on the wall, etc. also, the closet in the master is not available for use. You must use the closet in the hallway. And no house keys, country living!

Such a cool place

It was just me and 3 kids. We all spent most of the time outside. The view is incredible. The house was clean and comfortable. We highly recommend it!

A soul rejuvenator

The property is nicely perched on a hill in a vast ranch surronded by rolling hills and a grand view of the ocean to beat. The property has two lovely horses in the attached barn and we had a blast feeding and petting them. The place boasts of a massive deck and simply lounging out was a peaceful expereince. The ranch house itself is very tastefully decorated and comfortable. The host was kind and very willing to be of assistance. Overall loved the solitude and this property sure has some healing qualities.

Looking for serenity? This is your place!!

We couldn't have had a more perfectly wonderful get-away ... It was just what we were looking for (and then some :)! The property and the area are just breathtaking; especially after the excessive rainfall this past season brought. Looking out from the deck at the rolling green hills, and listening to nothing but the sounds of nature, it was easy to feel that we were the only living souls on the planet; the serenity was bliss. We did a little hiking around the ranch, had fun feeding the horses and the resident cat, cooked a couple of great meals, enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets and stargazing in our sleeping bags on the deck lounge chairs (my favorite:). The host, Kristine, was fantastic! Good communication made check in a breeze, and was available and responded promptly when I messaged with a question....very pleasant and friendly person. The house was welcoming with sparkling windows, beds comfortable with quality linens, the decor was fun and interesting, and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need. Thanks for sharing your wonderful place! It was perfect.

Third trip

This was our third stay at the ranch. We had an amazing stay and saw so many hawks, and a golden eagle flew right in front of our car with a poor rabbit in his talons!! Saw many deer and a couple coyotes. Always love the kitty and the horses at the ranch! We just love the beauty and environment and we will definitely be back!!

Truly amazing spot

Vast views, private, quiet, spectacular sky and all you could ask for in Old California land grant experience, on a hill, surrounded by fields and trees with a distant view of the fog above the sea, with every modern touch; and a couple obliging horses for the kids with you - or in you - to feed.

Magical ranch for stargazing

We loved this ranch! Super private, nobody around. Two very friendly horses. Very comfortable bedrooms. Excellent kitchen. Best of all, a huge deck overlooks the rolling hills and the ocean in the distance. At night the stars come out and we can see the milky way clearly too. We will definitely return!

A wonderful family getaway!

This was our second time staying at this gorgeous property and it was just as magical as the first one! The beautifully decorated home, the breathtaking view and, highlight for our family, all the animals made for a magical stay for kids and adults alike. Booking, checking in and out is extremely easy, the host is very friendly and ready to help with any question you might have! Highly recommend!

Amazing

We cannot recommend this property more if you are looking for a peaceful relaxing stay. It is so quiet, and the scenery/view is amazing!! The horses and kitty were so sweet!! The house is decorated perfectly and you have everything you might need in the kitchen! We are plotting when we can go back and stay longer!! Kristine was very friendly and so responsive to our inquiries.

Unforgettable stay

Gazing at the beauty of the surroundings was the highlight. The views from the ranch were outstanding and it was fun feeding the two horses. The property owner was available with a simple phone call and very cordial. Her house was well stocked and clean. She made us feel like family!

Beautiful Getaway

We couldn't ask for a more perfect getaway than this gem nestled amongst the hills. The home is beautiful and fully stocked with awesome amenities (organic shampoo, conditioner, body wash, kitchen supplies). Kids had an awesome time playing on the deck, going on hikes, and feeding the horses. Parents were nice and relaxed on the huge deck overlooking the incredible view. We did not want to leave. 5 stars!

Nice place to stay with families and friends

We really enjoyed the stay during spring break time with families and friends. This place is very special and the host is supper helpful. Our kids love to play with horses and cats, they are so friendly and easy to get along. Wild turkeys love our car's color (red) and like to visit every morning. Kids are very excited to see deer, turkey vultures in the 320 acre field and play with salamander and tadpole in the pond.

A Very Special Spot

We've enjoyed Central California a lot these past few years (coming up from Los Angeles) and Dragonfly Ranch looked so interesting on the website. We were drawn by the description of it and the very positive reviews that emphasized things that were important to us too. Imagine our delight when we arrived and saw that it was so much more than described. Words can’t completely convey an experience like it. It started raining just after we settled in the first night (a lovely sound). We awoke the next day to a rainbow in the sky and a visit from the local wild turkeys wanting to check us out. As far as you can see there is just nature, trees, grass, hills, horses grazing, birds in the air, the ocean in the distance and the most wonderful two cats who always knew when to come over and visit us. The sounds are so peaceful and rejuvenating. The house is a delight. It's very spacious and Kristine has anticipated what might be needed: such comfortable beds, towels, toiletries. The kitchen was well stocked and had every utensil or appliance we wanted to use. We'd brought our food up for the whole week and it was a pleasure to cook and then eat outside to catch the light and changes through the day. The huge deck was wonderful for reading and sky or star gazing and there were great hiking trails (to work up an appetite). There are lots things to do in the nearby area but we never ventured out, deciding that this special spot was all we needed. And, now, we are making a plan for our return this fall!! Thanks so much Kristine for all of your attention to detail and quick responses when we reached out.

Charming vintage home with killer views

Went for a weekend with family. The patio overlooks a spectacular view of rolling hills, we spent a lot of time sitting out there. Children loved hiking on the property, feeding horses and playing with the cats ! Remember to bring milk and other supplies, it's 20minutes drive into town.

Gorgeous location

This was an amazing stay for our group, grandma and grandpa (us) and our daughter, son in law and two young grandchildren. Hiking was challenging enough to make it feel like being in the wilderness at times. The views from the deck are inspiring. The home is like a live in museum, with books and memorabilia to explore in every room and every nook. The two horses are friendly and the kitties affectionate. The little ones were enchanted. We really relaxed on the deck lounges. Went out wine tasting twice accompanied by our winemaker son in law, and really enjoyed that, but always looked forward to returning. Our host, Christine, was great and answered our many questions Hope we are able to come back again.

I love it when guests arrive at the ranch and they call me, sounding mesmerized and almost speechless. It makes me feel good to be able to share such an amazing place.

The relaxing quality that the ranch has is unlike any other place. It is the perfect Central Coast getaway, a meal for your soul. One can't help but feel the strength of the land when they are there and everyday problems seem to not seem so important. It is a private getaway that will take your mind off anything in 'real life'. The only problem is, you won't want to go back.
