Quiet Week

This house was great for a quieter week away. Recently updated with great attention to detail. The boys in the group were able to fish to their hearts desire. Short drive to beach (we preferred not to walk because of the heat) for sand, sun, and waves. The porch was great for early morning coffee!

Wow!!

The house was absolutely beautiful! Right on the bay, good fishing a crabbing. We couldn't have asked for a better setting for our family vacation. The beach was a short walk or drive away. It was not over populated and so beautiful! The house was clean, comfortable and just perfect! Plenty of space for our party of 12, which included our kids and grandkids. The master bedroom's bed was oh so comfy! Kim, the property manager, was responsive and very helpful. Thanks Kim and thanks to the property owners for making our memorable vacation possible!!

Loved it!

This house was perfect! We loved it and the location. The beach was just a short walk away. We fished in the backyard almost everyday. The view was beautiful! We would love to go back again.

Relaxing views of the Bay!

House was super clean with a well appointed kitchen. Perfect for a group who wants to come and relax by the bay. The white sand was great for that beachy feeling. Kim was very helpful and super responsive to our needs. Would definitely stay here again.

This house is awesome, but nature is not!

This house is beautiful, well kept, and in a quiet location. We only got to stay 2 nights because of hurricane Sally, but would definitely stay again. Kim, the property manager, is amazing.

Loved, Loved, Loved This Place!!!!

We rented Baycation at the last minute, and really weren't sure what to expect. We're so glad we did! What an awesome place! There's nothing like rolling out of bed, and looking straight out over the Bay. The most relaxing place we've ever stayed. It is a little older, but it's extremely clean and very well furnished / stocked. I make my living cooking, and I never find enough pots, pans, etc in places we rent. Baycation had everything, and then some! This place even has it's own little private beach! We did not want to leave! Kim, the property manager was very nice, and a HUGE help from the get go. We loved this place so much, we're already planning our next trip!

Great vacation house on Mobile Bay

Great veiw of Mobile Bay with access to beach, short drive to Fort Morgan State park and ferry. Very peaceful and relaxing.

Fabulous Vacation!!

Loved the house!! The view was amazing!! The whole family had a great time, from sitting on the deck enjoying the breeze to fishing right from the yard, it was the perfect spot for a family trip. Kim was a dream to work with!! We will definitely be returning for our next beach trip!!

Wonderful Baycation!

The Baycation was perfect for our family of 10. The property manager Kim was helpful and responsive. The check-in was seamless. The kids really enjoyed the fishing and crabbing from the dock. Only 30 minutes from Gulf Shores if you want a little more entertainment.

Amazing vacation at Baycation

The house is exactly as pictured. The white sand in the yard was amazing. We also enjoyed the crabbing and fishing in the Bay. The beach is close but we drove to haul our chairs and beach toys and there was always parking. The neighborhood is very quiet and we loved it. We highly recommend.

Baycation was awesome

If you looking for a clean and very roomy house with a beautiful view this is it!!! Baycation was everything we wanted in a bay front home. The hammock under the house was very very nice!! Kim was so helpful and answered all of our questions. I would definitely recommend this house!!!!

Best Bay/Beach Vacation Ever!

As they say "location" is everything. House is on the bay (fishing, crabbing, sunsets, watching dolphins, birds, canoeing/kayaking from your own yard, jet flyovers a few times a week "very impressive to watch"), the beach... short walk to white powder sand with great waves, fishing and shallow for swimming, clear water. House is large and private and the deck has incredible views of the bay everyday, would never tire of this view. Sand yard and plenty of room for the whole family on this property. Also great for relaxing and doing nothing too ;-). We hope to be back soon. John, Gwyn and family

We had the best time at Baycation. The location was perfect! It was quiet and relaxing!

The home was clean. Kimberly was great to work with and easy to get in touch with at all times. This was the perfect family spot. The beach was an easy walk or drive across the street. The kids loved the sand behind the home and all the sea life. They caught blue crabs and hermit crabs by the dozens and named the blue herring, Harley. Everyone enjoyed the hammock! The view was gorgeous . We can’t wait to book another stay here!

Pros & cons

PROS: BEAUTIFUL VIEW/SETTING, mattresses, neighbors, safe road to walk 0.4 mile to beach, clean bathrooms & grill, kayak CONS: • Sand on furniture in multiple rooms found by first morning. Lifting sleeper sofa only a foot revealed lots of sand, hair, & popcorn. • THICK dust on blinds & window sills. Counters not clean & lots of crumbs & splatters in drawers & cabinets. • Only few pcs. of cheap silverware, rusty, old kitchen tools (inoperable can opener), 50+ knives but none sharp enough to use (used our pocket knife). • Cold H2O barely worked in master shower so they were all piping hot – bad for sunburn or kids. • No privacy in master - door doesn’t lock & is a pocket, so chair can’t be used to keep kids out. • All 3 doors for master area are old pockets operating LOUDLY on tracks so wakes those sleeping in the curtained area and vice versa. • Many bad deck boards & nails sticking up. Cut-open foot led to a shoe rule. • No hair dryer, games/movies/books/entertainment, kayak paddle, extra blankets, sheets for sleeper sofa unless you book for 11+ (Had folks who don’t share beds – adult opposite-sex siblings, dating teens, & a vulnerable T1 diabetic, so needed all beds in ad.) Extra bedding brought once quoted line item that said it’d be there, but was told in same text contract to be revised immediately. Simply put- NO extras here. Other than sheets/blankets, the listing didn’t mislead, but other homes we’ve rented for decades are way better equipped, incl. adjacent house we rented during this same stay. • Dishwasher full despite multiple warnings day before of consequences if it weren’t emptied. Have to handle it or worry you’ll receive the consequences. • Microwave is in state of disrepair. • Many totally broken beach chairs, kayak paddles, etc. - renter could be held responsible. • A sign has been added to pillar by boat ramp since listing pics to warn to “stay away from the water” due to “alligators & snakes in the area.” Informed at 7:52 p.m. the night before check-in of actual recent gator at property, & asked to agree to water-use terms separate from terms on VRBO. What choice do you have at that point? Again, the setting is beautiful & some folks care less about swimming, doors locking, etc. This review is long because I appreciate being able to read details & determine if a neg is a neg for US. Couldn’t find a way to just post screen shots or pics of all this stuff or would’ve said less & let them speak for themselves.

Great vacation stay

Had a great experience! Highly recommend. Bay fishing just steps away and the beach is an easy, short walk. Very peaceful area. My whole family enjoyed the stay. We will return!

Winter Getaway In Paradise (Jan & Feb 2020)

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Baycation. Check-in was a breeze and the owner offered great ideas for places to eat, activities, etc. The pics portray the house accurately. We spent many hours relaxing on the deck watching dolphins swim right up to the seawall. Public beach is just across Ft. Morgan Road which is a short walk. I did bring a couple of my own iron skillets but there are plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses, etc. Owner also provides starter items. Be sure to bring your binoculars. We would definitely stay here again and can't thank the owner enough for the wonderful southern hospitality.

Very Relaxing

Great place (quiet) and very relaxing with an easy reservation process. Plenty of room at house. Pictures are accurate, what you see is what you get. Our family plans to rebook this property in the future.

There are so many reasons to select Baycation, but let's begin with the relaxing sound of the water. Enjoy your coffee from the deck or an afternoon nap in the shade or a mid morning tanning time in the sun!

Who can resist that beautiful white sand in the front and side yards for the kids to enjoy right at the house while you relax on the hammock below the home. There is a propane grill and outdoor shower and a two person kayak for your family to enjoy!

Then there is the amazing treat of being able to fish and crab from your front yard! There is nothing like it!
