Nice quiet location, really nice swim area for kids with the sand bottom lake. We enjoyed our stay. Good response time with property management.

Awesome place but needs some help

The place was awesome, loved the location. However, it was pretty dirty on checkin with mouse feces present on counters and tables and lots of cobwebs about. Recommend having cleaning come before new tenants. Windows need some blinds, curtains, etc. would be nice if garage was clean to park trailer and/or boat.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was clean and very spacious for our family of 11. The only 2 problems were that the fuse blew for the water pump and we had to go into the basement to reset the first day we were there. A few days later we plugged the vacuum into an outlet in the Livingroom entrance way and it blew the fuse, which had the water pump on as well, and had to be reset again. The house had mice, with visible nesting and droppings in the stairway closet. We actually saw the mice on several different occasions.

Disappointing

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The lake is beautiful, the deck is beautiful and the cabin is rustic and charming. However, this is our first time renting in over 23 years renting from a rental company vs VRBO or directly from the owners and I can say we will not do that again. The company was slow to answer any questions regarding the cabin prior to the trip (in fact still waiting an answer from an email for a few questions I had prior to the trip...and I am home now) from the company. The cabin had a leak, we contacted the company, little to no concern or care was expressed as this issue. Also, please note this cabin does not have AC. I only hope the owners of the cabin know how poor the representation of their property is. We even spoke with a neighbor and they confirmed the poor management. Our group made the best of the trip but would not recommend working with these property managers.

Awesome time

Reviewer Comments: First time since 2017 that all 3 of our children, their spouses and the grandbabies were all under one roof. The cabin/home was clean and gave us plenty of space, the barn was a great addition for our daughter with 3 children. The lake was beautiful - the area on the left side of the pier was sandy and shallow (about 3ft) so the kids could jump off the pier, wade, look for sea shells etc.... weather cooperated. The cabin felt warm and comfortable. Neighbors were very nice and gave us some background info on the original owners. Being approximately 2 1/2 miles to the Michigan border we were able to visit the Casino in Watersmeet - with which we were impressed. When our youngest grandson asked what you call where we were staying - We simply replied "God's Country" - because it is a bit of a rural area- not a lot of traffic or noise. The level frontage to the lake was great for the kids to play catch, football, etc.... also good for fires and smores. Our vacation turned out awesome .There were a few glitches with the internet/WIFI but personnel at Hiller were able to quickly help us correct the situation. The Sand Pub off of State Hwy 17 and Grosser Lane has excellent food - service was quick and courteous. Eagle River is about 16 miles away with a Pick-n-Save (Kroger) grocery store. We have rented from Hillers before and we have never been disappointed. We will definitely be a return.

The only complaint I had was the water heater wasn't working in the main cabin so I called to inform Hiller's about it and it was never fixed. Didn't end up being a huge deal because the water heater worked in the other building so I didn't bother calling again.

Very nice place to stay for a quiet getaway. Clear water and nice sandy swim area by the dock. The dock was a bit shaky and had a few questionable boards

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: overall we had very good time, we were isolated so we had no worries about the pandemic. There were some problems, the screen door going into upstairs barn had nails sticking out, luckily none of the children had to go in there, I myself scratched my arm. The front door off the deck and the screen were very hard to open and was tearing up the floor. We were told there would be a gas grill but we found a charcoal weber grill, could have brought charcoal from home. we were told that towels were included had to go and buy enough for ten people. There was a musty smell in the living room and some of us had a reaction to it. Also, (this is petty) but there is NO ""sandy shore line", only grass, more rocks than anticipated. With the price of rental why were we instructed to wash and sanitize all the utensils in the kitchen?

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was very rustic and had a lot of great character. The second sleeping area above the garage is nice for extra family or guests. A few things to be aware of with this property. There is no cell service inside the cabin and no Wi-Fi. In order to make a call or get data access for emails or maps I had to go out to the end of pier. Might not be a concern for some, but with small kids that was frustrating to me. Also, there is very limited parking and if the neighbors are at their cabin the road is filled as well. We were unable to park a medium sized fishing boat at this location based on the long road, tight drive, and limited space.

Fun In The Sun

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great week, the yard and lake area was perfect for little kids. The accommodations suited us perfectly, the rooms were clear and plenty of space to get some peace and quiet. We ate supper every night on the deck and later in the evening a camp fire. All of the kids caught some nice sized sunfish out on the lake and they made a great supper for all of us one night. The only thing that I would suggest is that the out side of the buildings could use some stain or paint.

The updates are fantastic. We love the rustic look of the cabin, but the updates are even better.
