This is basement apartment listed without air conditioning. I don't understand how much clearer you can get, honestly. It was built in a mountain town, over a hundred years ago. Most people, including my. family and our businesses survive easily without it. To install air conditioning would include a complete reconstruction of the home, which is shaded by enormous trees. This would obviously change the price dramatically from $49 a night. Keeping doors and windows shut during the day, open at night is how we all (or most of us) manage and mitigate temperatures here. Nobody was deceptive. The upstairs, with air conditioning was available for $10.00 more per night. You get what you pay for. It seems a bit unfair to complain after solutions have been offered. We will continue to offer this apartment, for those traveling on a limited budget. Eventually, an air conditioner will be invented, at an affordable price that doesn't require an outdoor air source, special window unit or complete reconstruction. Believe me, the subject has been thoroughly researched. I don't have the budget to do what you're asking, and as it turns out, neither did you. We are all in the same boat.
