The unique location of this gem makes it so very special. The landscape and surroundings are a Adirondack dream. The beautiful appointed interior with all the necessities gives the space a luxury vibe. Walkout the door to be in nature or walk into town, makes this property a wonderful choice.

It’s a terrific area and a lovely setting among the trees. The hosts are phenomenal. They were very accommodating and thoughtful leaving all kinds of treats for snacks, and beautiful luxury soaps! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Impeccable!

Pam and Jim left no detail behind! The amenities, decor, comfort, they really did a fabulous job; right down to water/food bowls for the dogs. We have stayed at many five star resorts and this stay was right up there. The fact they accepted dogs to stay was a huge plus. Can't stop telling our friends and family how wonderful this property was. We look forward to a return stay the next time we visit the area.

40th Anniversary

We were very fortunate to book this vacation rental on short notice because am told that it is usually booked up. We were able to meet Jim and Pam and they could not have been more gracious and accommodating. The rental was immaculate and we marveled over the attention to detail and the amenities. My wife and I would both highly recommend it.

We loved our stay!

Bear Cottage was so cosy and comfortable, we had a relaxing stay. There are lots of beautiful trials nearby and Whiteface mountain is a 15min drive. Its a short walk to the town and some very nice restaurants. Highly recommend!

The Coziest Cabin EVER!!!!

If you are looking for a winter getaway, the Bear's Cottage at Mirror Lake is PERFECT! The pictures dont do this cozy cabin any justice as it is SPECTACULAR in person! (I really wanted to move in!) The details of this farmhouse chic Lake Placid vacay look right out of a magazine! Pam & Jim are just the sweetest hosts, giving recommendations for dinner & activities and their personal touches go above & beyond. The conveience of the cabin to downtown Lake Placid made for an enjoyable walk daily around Mirror Lake. There's so much to do here and just outside of town. And if it snows, just take a drive to enjoy the beautiful scenery!!! I can't wait to go back!!!

Another lovely ADK vacation at the Bear's Cottage!

The Bear's Cottage was literally better than ever! The hosts made a few upgrades that were so seamless that we didn't even notice they were new! This was our first time visiting in the fall and, oh my, was it a treat! Even our dogs enjoying running and playing on the property. We are really looking forward to another fun and rejuvenating stay here in 2024!

Fairytale cottage in the woods with complete privacy, an absolute gem. The space is well appointed, clean and as charming and beautiful as the pictures on-line. The location provides easy access to all activities in the Lake Placid area. Easy walk to town along the waterfront.

Very Nice quiet Location Close to Lake Placid town

We enjoyed our stay at Bear Cottage and would stay there again if we were in the area. It was a quiet, secluded location. Close enough to Lake Placid that we could walk there but far enough that noise and traffic were not and issue. It was fun taking our dog for a 3 mile walk around Mirror Lake in the morning. The town was very dog friendly. The cottage was supplied with everything we needed. A more detailed list of what was at the cottage would have been helpful. We could have left a lot of stuff home. The cottage looked great inside and out. A little less decorative things would have made it easier to sort our own stuff out. We automatically bring a crate with us for our dog but found out, when we got to the cottage, that one was required. Something in the Cottage listing instructions should have mentioned that a dog crate was required.

Wonderful Cottage

We really enjoyed the location of beautiful Bears cottage. The grounds are gorgeous and you are so close to everything in town but yet have your own tranquil retreat. We walked around mirror lake, hiked, biked and took our pup swimming in an area that was a doggie swim beach on Mirror Lake. Lake Placid is super pup friendly. Jim and Pam are wonderful hosts and very communicative with any questions we had.We would love to visit again.

Don't hesitate to book

If the Mirror Lake Inn had a special hideaway cabin, this would be the place. It's charming, painstakingly clean, off the beaten path but within eyeshot of Mirror Lake Drive. Too many amenities to mention, even toys and a water bowl for our dog. You really feel like it's an annex of a 5 star hotel. What I don't like about many rental properties is staying on the property as the homeowner. I always feel like an intruder rather than a guest. The cottage is on the same property but separate building and driveway entrance. Easily the nicest place I've stayed at in Lake Placid.

Amazing Getaway with Amazing, Kind and Thoughtful Hosts

My Wife and our Dogs spent (3) nights at the Bear's Cottage and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Pam and Jim's attention to detail regarding how the Cottage is designed is second to none, and their their 5-star Concierge Service was so comforting and extremely helpful, too. The Cottage was stocked with so many amenities and thoughtful gifts, and really made for a wonderful setting. Without hesitation, we highly recommend the Bear's Cottage!

Pam and Jim have owned commercial real estate for 25+ years. They have resided in Lake Placid since the late 90's and have owned and resided on the property on Mirror Lake Drive that the Bear's Cottage sits on since 2003. They thoroughly enjoy meeting and hosting the guests acting as their concierge in helping them to have a memorable visit during their stay in Lake Placid and the surrounding Adirondacks.

The Bear's Cottage provides luxuries and a 5 Star, first class accommodations that most top flight hotels used to supply pre-COVID. The Cottage is in a secluded, solitary living environment in a park-like setting and a short walk along Mirror Lake drive to the Village center of Lake Placid.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

On occasional Saturday nights throughout the summer from June into September we host singer/songwriters from around the country to play in our backyard amphitheater like-setting to sing and tell their stories behind the songs that they have written. Many of these songwriters are from Nashville and have written #1 or top of the chart hits and/or have opened for top artists while they are touring. This is an opportunity to be in an intimate setting up close and personal with these artists.
