Gulf Dunes

The property was clean on arrival. Check in instructions were given upon my arrival. The host said she sent them on May 8th. Maybe they went to my junk box but I didn’t have them. Could not print parking passes. The front desk refuse to help because I didn’t book through them. The check on instruction said that no necessities would be provided but I didn’t know because I got them on the way there. I think VRBO should communicate through the website to check email when instructions are sent. Host should be required to let them know. Trying to pay was another issue. I tried several times but with little instruction on how to navigate. I had to reach out to host to confirm she received payment. We enjoyed but very little hospitality shown.

Be aware

Multiple things wrong in the unit from the time of check in. We were very disappointed in this condo and would not come back to this condo even at a cheaper price. One thing after another happend. Starting with cleanliness of the unit. The master bathtub had a lot of hair in it, the couch had alot of sand on it. The back sliding door was off track and could not open/shut easy, when the housekeeper came back to clean the tub she said she already knew about the back door and reported it to maintenance. We also showed her the vanity drawer facing that was hanging and falling off that she said maintenance would also take care, also alot of burnt out light bulbs. The maintenance guy did not show up until the next day at 10:30am. He did fix both issues after 2 adults had already been hurt in the unit. One smashing fingers in the sliding doors just trying to get them shut and the other was the vanity drawer fell off on my mother's foot while she was drying her hair hitting the bone right on top. The AC unit ended up going out and it was almost 80 in the unit, the humidity level and temps outside were extremely high so it was very uncomfortable in the condo. The maintenance guy came back and changed filter and said nothing he can see was wrong with the unit on his end but he would call it in to hvac guy. We ended up leaving the condo to go eat to get out after waiting for the hvac guy for a long period and not hearing from him. We get back to the unit and it's still hot inside. Next

Great getaway on the beach

We had a variety of ages, from 7-70, and we had an amazing stay on the beach. The condo is set up to hold multiple families and provides quick access to pools and the beach. Great place and I highly recommend.

Fun time

We enjoyed the condo. My only complaint is that I couldn’t see the ocean from the balcony, all we could see were the dunes. But, we knew this when we booked the condo. It was very convenient walking from the first floor down to the beach with a handful of kids.

Our family vacation

I bought this vacation for my children for Christmas last year and we were all excited to get to spend the week together. The only problem we had was the two bathrooms had drainage issues. The tub wouldn't drain and we stood in water up to our calves every day. In fairness I didn't report this issue to anyone and we just dealt with it through the week. Overall it was a good experience.

Vacation 2023

Beautiful condo. Great location. Only negative was the thc smoking on the balcony above us and on the beach. We didnt sit close but the wind blew it everywhere. Couldn't stand to sit on the deck other than this it was a great vacation.

Housing for regatta

We raced sailboats at Fort Walton Yacht Club nearby so this was a great place to stay.

Perfect location

This location is perfectly located. Near all restaurants in Ft. Walton but close to Destin, also. We were a little disappointed at the repair of the unit. The ceiling had some areas falling off and the curtain rod for the patio door was falling off. The unit is nice, just needs some TLC. The kitchen was well stocked, plenty of towels, blankets and pillows. The view was actually nice bc you could see some sand, mostly water but the balcony was fairly private. We overall enjoyed our stay! We LOVE Ft. Walton Beach.

Great location

We enjoyed our stay very much. Being on the first floor and on the beach with great proximity to the pool was perfect for our group. The unit itself made a really nice stay, we didn't mind the view id the dunes rather than the beach at all you could still see the ocean and the pier and it was quite nice. Our only tip would be to add blackout curtains in the front two bedrooms because the lights from the walkway shine in very brightly.

Comfortable stay

Condo comfortable and nicely decorated. Plenty of sleeping room. Only downfall was being on first floor with only a view of the sand dune. Can’t see the beach and barely The ocean from the balcony but convenient for A short stairwell walk instead of waiting for elevators. Overall great stay!

Showers took forever to drain.

The condo was beautiful. The only thing we didn’t like was the drainage problem with both tubs in the bathrooms. When anyone had to take a shower it took a minute for the water to drain out. We went to the store and purchased Drano but it didn’t make it any better. When you have eight to ten people needing a shower twice a day made it a horrible experience.

Perfect for our family, but

Overall we really enjoyed our stay .. however there was a leak in the fridge that needed constant attention, we immediately notified the agency. They made us aware that there was also a problem with the dishwasher too. On the 4th day a repair person came and said that he fixed the problem, but he actually just made both issues worse. After contacting the rental company again , we never heard back from them. Washing dishes for 9 people all week was a major pain and sopping up water out of the fridge several times a day was something I never would wish on anyone.. I refused to let this ruin our time with our family.. I just hope that the problems get resolved for the next family who stay there..

Issue in the beginning

Initially when we got there (around 5:30pm) the entire condo had not been cleaned and was still obviously untouched from the previous group. This unfortunately put a big dent in the plans we had for that evening, as we had to leave the condo for several hours until it was cleaned, and weren’t allowed inside. After being in a car all day traveling 8 hours, we couldn’t get in to change or freshen up for dinner/shower or anything. That being said, after that hiccup was fixed, the condo was beautiful and we had a fabulous time. It’s right on the beach and the water was perfect. The master bathroom had the most wonderful bath tub, and the bed was super comfy. Also the staff were very quick to get in contact with the maid service to have our problem fixed.

Cousins week

9 cousins from 6 states met up in Florida and thoroughly enjoyed this condo on the beach. Great access to the gulf, excellent food, and shopping. Would definitely recommend!!
