Great home, but a few issues
The home was nice and well stocked. The quality of dishware, glasses, silverware, cookware, bakeware, and utensils were very good. Having a gas stove, basic staples and ample spices was great! The home was further west and a ways from shopping, restaurants, and activities than we expected, even after seeing similar comments in other reviews. The reason we accepted the location was because our primary focus was to have a heated pool. Upon arrival, we found the pool heater was not working properly and the pool was too cold to use. Although the owner was responsive and tried to get his pool company to fix it, it took 3 weeks (75% of our stay) before we had our heated pool, thus the 3 rating on listing accuracy. We requested a partial refund of what we thought was a reasonable amount based on research, but the owner offered less than half, which was extremely disappointing since we rented for a full month and it was the primary amenity in the decision for this property choice. VRBO did give us additional compensation for our inconvenience. The home was clean, the beds were comfortable, but the couch was not as the cushions do not stay in place. The other disappointment was the condition of the grill. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months and even after trying to burn off the layers of char, we ended up purchasing copper grill mats to cook on. The owners response was that his cleaner was great, just didn’t clean grills.
