Matt, I do appreciate your feedback even though most of what you are saying is untrue. There was a miscommunication between the property manager and the cleaning company which resulted in the unit not being ready when you arrived. I am thankful that you were able to reach me at 3 am my time. Regardless of your bad behavior I do feel terrible that the unit wasn't clean when you arrived. Short of you sleeping in your car that night I was able to find you a hotel room after 5 places I called were fully booked and put you up at my expense. The property manager advised that she would allow you to use the pool& hot shower in her own personal rental unit until the cleaners were finished cleaning.She advised you are refusing to leave because you have already moved from the hotel to her unit and you are not moving again. You also advised her that the whole experience has left you traumatized. I advised her to call the police and have you arrested for refusing to leave. I also advised her that your tramactic experience statement is offensive considering what the unfortunate people of Lahaina just went through. VRBO received 2 calls from you, both times you wanting out of your booking reservation and trying to escalate the call to a manager because you didn't get what you wanted which was a shorter stay so you could visit another island. My unit is booked out a year in advance for a reason. I changed property managers in March 2023 and u received an email with her contact. Since you booked in March 2023 you and I corresponded 22 times with multiple requests to change dates. I accommodated all of your requests with the exception of the change 60 days prior to arrival which is in my booking policies. My unit received over 125k in damage from a flood from the property owner above me in 2022. The unit has been professionally rebuilt is less than 2 years old and gets quarterly maintenance checks to ensure the unit is perfect. When you arrived, with the exception that it wasn't cleaned, the unit was in new condition. I suspect your negative review could have something to do with the fact that I made you accountable for your booking obligations. Being accountable is what honest people do. Maui is a place of amazing beauty with positive energy and a way of life that is unique to most visitors. It is a place that only the privileged few get to experience and should never be taken for granted. You would do all of Maui a service and not return.
