Summer Vacation

Had a great time on our family vacation. The house makes it very easy to have a relaxing vacation with the beach and the lake located just a short distance away. Washer/Dryer make it very easy to pack knowing it is easy to do laundry on the trip and the spacious home is great and definitely comes in handy on rainy days so no one feels cramped. Would definitely come back again

Overall a very good time. Fun house for friends to hang out and relax. I'd consider installing A/C. Very hot in there and the humidity is destryoing all the nice woodwork. No real complaints though.

Would not stay there again...

Good evening, Just returned today from our trip. For the most part we enjoyed out stay. There were few cons to our stay which I would you to point out. The most disappointing part was that the house had mouse infestation. Mouse excrements were in the kitchen drawers and cabinets. Unfortunately we used utensils and then we noticed mouse excrements in the drawers. Looks like cleaning service did not notice that, so I want you to make aware of that issue. I hoped you are able to waive the cleaning fee due to this problem as well. In attachment please find the pictures . In addition coffee maker (black one) is not working. The power is on but water doesn't flow to the pot. We were most of the day out (skiing) and only returned in the evening and only 2 people were able to shower in the hot water afterwards hot water was gone and we had to wait like another 2 hours for the hot water to be back . I emailed the owner in private message 5 days ago with no response and again 2 days ago... After I did not receive the response I am posting on public forum so people are aware what sanitary conditions are up for. I was trying to attach pictures but there was no option. If you guide me how to attach pictures I will gladly provide evidence.

Great location

The location of the home is great, and the home itself is very nice. Its unfortunate they took a home that could sleep 10-12 and restricted it to no more than 6, raised the rate and removed the water craft usage. The grill out back is charcoal and disgusting, the vents are rusted and the grates were caked with old grease and filled with ashes. We ended up cleaning it as best we could. Also the fire pit once again this year was full of ashes amd garbage, bottles etc. We again cleaned it out ourselves as it is never checked. Other rentals generally supply firewood for at least one small fire especially at the rate that is being charged but this property does not. There was garbage service that was added this year which is a great bonus however we only found out by chance because the maintenance person had to come to replace burned out bulbs put back. Otherwise we would not have know amd would have paid to go to the dump. Poor communication there.

Friends Lake house

This house was so perfect for my family, the lake just a few houses away, the great backyard and firepit, the open airy floor plan with kitchen and living room, close proximity to Lake George, white water rafting on the hudson, restaurants, just perfect. We would stay here again for sure!

good value, some inconsistencies

Overall, this place is a good value for the money -- three adult bedrooms and a kids' room with four solid bunk beds, two bathrooms with showers. The area is very quiet, in the woods but only 8 minutes from a small town. The backyard is nice. There are neighbors on all four sides, but it still felt private. There were some inconsistencies in the listing, though, that made it a little less than perfect stay. The listing made it seem like we would be in a very isolated area and need to bring in all groceries on arrival, as well as taking our trash to the town landfill before leaving. However, like I said above, the house is 8 minutes from a Tops grocery store and has regular trash pickup, so you can just use the outdoor trash bins. The booking said that Google maps lists the address wrong and to follow directions in the booking, but it did not include directions; it took three attempts to get a response from the property manager, who did send directions a few days before our trip, but it turned out that the Google map was actually correct after all. The listing did not include a grill but did include a pantry; there was a small charcoal grill alongside the fire pit (a nice option to know about), but there were zero pantry items, not even salt or pepper, and no trash bags. Finally -- and I say this as someone who grew up in a very rural area and dealt with a lot of critters -- there were an inordinate amount of spiders in the house, enough that they built webs in several places along the hallway at night.

Great home, very clean, awesome location

Home was very clean and was perfect for us with large bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathrooms. Second time renting and will continue years to come every year. Highly recommend this home.

This is a great house, very spacious, comfortable and clean. Booking process was very simple and well organized. I highly recommend this house for a great location and lake near by. Will book again in the future.

Going downhill

We have always loved this home and have rented several times over the years. Great location and beach as well as other property owners. But each year we have to purchase even some very basic items..ie we have bought amd left behind ice cube trays two years in a row and a juice pitcher, a cutting board etc. Now this year we had the reduced number of 6 people and there were only 5 plates, forks, and spoons. The smoke detector in the hallway was missing with just wires sticking out. There is a large water leak mark in the one bedroom that the plaster is missing and looks terrible. The fire pit was not cleaned out, second year in a row and had trash in it. The grass was not cut second year in a row and the picnic table was broken and could not be used. And to add insult to injury we were told by vacasa they were bringing and extra place setting and smoke detector and never showed up and said we would get a credit and we did not.

Spacious Retreat

House was a lot bigger than expected and the front living room being connected to the dining room/kitchen made the house relaxing and comfortable. Washer and Dryer was a big plus and helped to not have to over pack. Lake is only a short walk down the hill.

Nice Family Getaway

Our family wanted to getaway to Lake George for the weekend and ended up renting for an additional day. The house was very clean and spacious. I appreciated the extra towels and linens found in the bathrooms. I loved the open floor plan and high ceilings. There were some areas that were in need of repair (ceiling in one of the bedrooms had a hole where it looked like someone tried to tape a seam but failed to finish). There was a short walk behind house to a private lake. Neighbors seemed friendly. The back yard was small but cozy and we especially loved the firepit and charcoal grill. Some suggestions for management to improve the property: -Install a dishwasher: We wanted to be on vacation from doing household chores. -Fix the hot water: Our family of 5 had to take short 5 minute showers because the hot water was constantly running out. -Add more seating: We are a family of 5 but there were only 4 chairs at the kitchen table. It is probably a good idea to add some bar stools around island and adding two more chairs to the dinner table for extra guests. Some suggestions for guests: Purchase all necessary items (food, wood, charcoal, etc) before you arrive. The house is located in a rural area and stores are quite a distance away and close early. Check to see when the local landfill is open. We cleaned the house after our stay and when we were leaving we were surprised to learn that the Chestertown Landfill was closed on a Tuesday morning. Important to note: Lake George is about a half hour drive away from this house. Special thanks to management: Thank you so much for making our family feel at home! The special memories we created during our stay will not soon be forgotten.

Great house for a stay in the Adirondacks

Decent getaway.

The house was very spacious, beautiful kitchen. The area was very quiet and nice for wanting to get away from everything for a while. The only thing I can say is that the place was not properly cleaned. There were on the shower curtains and comforters. There was also dust on a good portion of the house. The window hardware was not working on certain windows. Other than that, great experience.

Weekend away

Quick weekend with my son and some friends. Great location. Enough room for all. Had trouble with the Tv and was fix within 24 hrs. Great communication with property management. Great place. Would stay again.

Great stay

Enjoyed the stay. Close to chestertown and the amenities. The only downside to the property was the mattresses. Overall a great place to go.
