Amazing Family Vacation!

Our days here were wonderful and truly unforgettable. The home is very comfortable, practical, and cozy. From the moment we arrived, we felt at ease. Perfect Vacation Villa

This villa was a perfect place for us to relax and have all the comforts of home while exploring Antigua. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space to spread out. It was generally quiet at night, which was great for sleeping.

Our new favorite place!

We had a delightful stay at Pelican View in Jolly Harbour. We fell in love with the area, and the condo had everything we needed for our trip to Antigua. It’s in such a great location, it was easy to walk to the beach every morning, visit restaurants and load up on supplies at the Epicurean store. We rented a car and had fun exploring the island. We can’t wait to return!

Very nice villa Property was exactly as presented. Gated community, beautiful landscaped. Everything you need for your stay within golf cart distance. Both beaches beautiful. North beach very quiet , Elton very responsive. Manager just a few doors away. Worry free vacation

Great Location, Great Home

Really enjoyed our stay at your home in Jolly Harbour. Upon our arrival we noted that it was clean and tidy. The home had all the necessities that we required. Wonderful view of the hills and the marina from the master bedroom. The Housekeeper was very pleasant and checked in on us to see if we needed anything. Great place to stay, will definately be staying here again on our next trip to Antigua. Would recommend a rental car or golf cart rental.

Your advice on having a rental car or golf cart is very good as Jolly Harbour encompasses a large area. There are also very many activities and sights to see and take advantage of when vacationing in Antigua that a rental car makes it much easier to access. We look forward to hosting you again,

Excellent location with attention to detail

The most relaxing vacation for years. The owners have covered every thing from detailed instructions from the airport, to milk and cold beer in the fridge on arrival. This made the experience seamless. The villa is very comfortable with everything you could need. We really enjoyed the community feel of Jolly Harbour which is ideally placed for pristine beaches, restaurants at all price points and a good supermarket. We just can't decide which is our favourite beach - Darkwood or Ffryes.

Very comfortable stay at Jolly Harbour

Our 5 night stay at Jolly Harbour Villa was all we could have asked for a base from which to explore the western side of the island. Everything we could have needed was available, even down to the beach tote cooler bag. I appreciated the note book with local info. The new italian restaurant was very good, Castaways, though on the right beach was a bit overpriced. We enjoyed the deck for breakfast in the morning, and all the Johnny Depp pirate movies with some local rum in the evening. Thank You j&j

Jolly Good!

Everything at Elton and Jayne's place was as advertised. Communication was great. Weather was great. Hiking was great. Antigua was great. Driving a rental car less than great (left side of the road, potholes everywhere). And the speed bumps wore us out (not E and J's fault obviously). The North Beach is close by and wonderfully quiet...a night time dip in the moonlight was special. Just a great time.

Great Holiday

Our trip was fantastic,The country is beautiful.Your villa was really nice,clean and spacious.It was perfect.We rented a car and saw much of the island.Shirley heights was beautiful,those mega yachts were something else.We circum-navigated the island on a catamaran,that was awesome.Everything wen't according to plan,so it was a great holiday. Getting away from the British winter

The villa is beautifully located on the waters edge at Jolly Harbour a 5 minute walk from North beach approximately 15mins to the nearest restaurant and 30 minutes to the main shopping centre. The villa is getting on a little bit, but is well maintained, painted and clean. Everything that is supposed to work, works. The description was accurate and we would most certainly consider returning for another visit. A car or electric buggy is desirable. Elton and Jane were very helpful in all our dealings with them.

Lovely Antiguan Townhome

We really enjoyed our stay in Jolly Harbour at the Ash's home. It was very clean and the decor was very beachy with lovely art work all over the house. Enjoyed sunrises on the balcony with our coffee in the morning. It was in a nice peaceful area and you could walk to the the north beach We love walking so this was a perfect location for us. We also rented a golf cart to go to the grocery store and many restaurants in Jolly Harbour. We took the golf cart to the other beach twice. Mary gave us a nice island tour one day. We took the bus into St. John to shop. We had lunch in there at Cuties, which was one of our favorite meals. The house was a very nice place to call "home" while we were in Anitgua.

Cozy and Clean

Our stay was comfortable and peaceful in the villa and definitely was a good value. Communicating with Elton and Jayne was easy. We did have an issue regarding the security pass. The directions stated it was left at the security gate. We went to all three security gates and no one had a clue. We were still able to access all the amenities on the premises without it. All in all, it was reassuring to return to a quiet, comfortable villa after full days of enjoying the beaches and visiting all of our family and friends who reside in Antigua.

Review

The villa was very clean when we arrived. The information we received before our arrival was very helpful to prepare us for our vacation. The book Elton & Jayne prepared was very helpful. We especially appreciated the information about the artwork and furniture pieces. The view from the deck was awesome. The only issue we experienced was when town did water repairs. Water didn't come back on. I contacted Elton and plumber arrived within half an hour and corrected problem. Awesome response! Wish our plumber responded that quickly:) Our experience at Pelican View in Jolly Harbor was excellent. We highly recommend the villa.

Great Villa - Excellent location.

Great communication with the owners since the day we booked the property. They provide a lot of information about the property and what to do around the island. We were received by the Shari, the property manager, with beers on the fridge, crackers and cheese, chocolates and fresh local fruits on the kitchen counter. She answer all our questions during our stay. The property is located in area that you have to access thru a security gate. A lots of services around including a supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants and more. Also in the same area a beautiful beach. Did I said that the property is well located? Plenty of beaufifull beaches at 15-20 minutes by car and also at 20 min of the main village/city, St. John's. The property is really confortable, two bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a terrace on the main bedroom and a patio on the back with a BBQ. We had a really nice time at Barbuda. Thanks Elton, Jayne and Shari. We are looking foward to come back!

Great place, great location

Elton and Jayne's sweet little place in Jolly Harbour was lovely. It has nearly everything you need for your holiday away from home, from maps and recommendations to coolers for the beach. We've been to Antigua four times over the years, and we feel the location in Jolly Harbour can't be beaten: close to restaurants and groceries, and convenient to many of the best beaches. We rented a car at the airport (expect a well-used model), so we had lots of opportunities to explore. The beds were comfortable, and you truly didn't need the AC except when it rained. The voltage converters were a new thing for us, but we only needed them for a few items. We would definitely recommend to anyone, especially a family with 2 kids like ours, as the layout was perfect. Elton even took the time to call us at home before we arrived to make sure we didn't have any last minute questions. And, did I mention the welcome goodies in the fridge? Nothing like a cold Wadadli after a hectic day spent in 2 countries, 2 airports and 2 different sides of the road...

Everything we needed

The house was everything we were looking for. Traveling with 2 kids (9 and 2 years old) the house was spatious enough so kids had their own bedroom. Both bedrooms had private bathroom plus a toilet downstairs. Very nice view over the mountains. Well furnished kitchen, made it easy to cook our meals all week. BBQ grill on the patio was a must! Trading with mr ash was easy. He was very helpful and all transactions went smoothly. We definitely appreciated the little attentions like the drinks in the fridge on arrival (even milk for the baby)! You have to know that this house is a bit far from south beach, restaurants, bars and grocery store (you gonna need a car or golf cart). But this being said, we liked being close to north beach (very quiet and almost private) and far from noise at night (whistlering frogs kingdom:) the house was clean and full of linens and towels to use. Full cable tv and free wifi. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. Jolly harbour and jolly beach is a very nice and safe place. thanks again to let us share your home!

Great Villa and Great location

Our stay during the month of February 2015 was simply put 5 stars!! Upon our arrival at the The Villa it felt like home. The villa is two stories with a foyer, powderoom, kitchen, dining area and living room with a wall mounted TV in it. Off the living room are two oversized sliding glass doors which open on to the well appointed patio that overlooks the water of the harbor. When you go up the stairs there are two large bedrooms each with an ensuite…the showers have great pressure and lots of hot water and the beds are comfortable. The master bedroom has a patio door which opens to a second story balcony also overlooking the harbor. There is also a washing machine on the second floor which works very well. Whiling staying at the Villa we rented a car to use for the month (you can also rent golf carts). You will need one or the other to get to the grocery store etc. However you have an easy 5min walk to the North Beach from the villa. The grocery store has everything you will need including wine, beer and other alcohol. There are also a number of good restaurants rights there…a 5 min drive from the villa. You can also drive to the pool and the south beach…5- 10 min. There they have tennis courts and a squash court. You are only a short ½ hour drive to St John’s where there is lots to do. There are also boating excursions which depart a short distance from the Villa. All in all you couldn’t ask for a better Villa or location…we have already planned our return trip!

We enjoy the opportunity to share our vacation home with people from around the world. Antigua and Jolly Harbour have a tremendous number of advantages allowing many to enjoy a great vacation; whether that is actively involved touring the sites or enjoying a good book at a quiet beach, you will not be disappointed.

A pleasant and quiet location. A great holiday base.

The information pack provided was superb and especially the driving instructions from the airport to the villa. We hired a rental car at the airport and drove with no problems whatsoever - and that was after an 8 hour flight from the UK. The villa itself is about a mile from the main commercial centre, with its bars and shops - about a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive. Would it be better to be closer? Well maybe but I guess it would be a lot noisier. As it was the only sounds we heard were the pelicans diving into the water for fish, the little birds coming to our breakfast table for crumbs and next door's fishing yacht (once a day, if that). The villa has a well equipped kitchen, lacking nothing in terms of cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and pots and pans. The kitchen units were a little "tired", but its a vacation villa not a luxury condo. There is a comfortable lounge/diner with TV, DVD & ipad dock. Wifi speed was acceptable rather than mega quick, but we still managed to watch tv shows over the internet.The terrace/deck is plenty spacious for four people and has table, chairs and loungers and is right over the water! Even better the terrace faces east and so gets the cooling prevailing easterly winds, and shade in the afternoon. Phew! There are two en suite bedrooms that are spacious and comfortable, and plenty of towels were provided for showers. The master bedroom has a large terrace facing east but no chairs or loungers were available on this terrace. A pity but no big deal. The aircon and fans were both acceptably quiet and effective - during the day we didn't need the aircon as the easterly breeze and the ceiling fan were quite sufficient downstairs. For beach days the owner provided fold-up beach chairs and beach towels. It was a pity that there were no beach parasols provided as many of the smaller beaches had no loungers or shade and so weren't suitable for pale Brits who sizzle even with factor 50!!! Having said that I looked around and couldn't see any for sale. However the fantastic, quiet North Beach is a 5 minute walk away and there is plenty of shade under the trees, marvellous sunsets and thousands of beautiful shells - far better than the more commercial South Beach. The villa has a "rustic" feel to it. Think plaster applied with a trowel rather than fine skimmed - and this is complemented by the owners' art collection which is best described as vibrant vernacular and very Caribbean. We had a great stay, you will too!

As you mentioned, there are trees, close to the water, that provide some shade. We are happy you appreciated our art collection. We have tried hard to collect Antigua specific artwork to give a full appreciation of the island and its people. Hopefully, you can return and enjoy more time on the island.

Wonderful

This is our 2nd time at this villa, the first time we were visiting friends that had rented it for a few months...Booking Elton and Jayne's villa was easy and Elton was quick to respond to any questions I had. We were there for 2 weeks. The directions Elton gave us to drive from the airport to Jolly Harbour were great. Crazy driving on those Antiguan roads! The villa itself is clean and has everything you need. If any problems there is a property manager to contact. There is a washing machine in the villa. I used it and learned that I should have run an empty load through before putting any clothes in as there is iron or something in the water that stained our clothing. I ran another load and most of the stains came out except for a couple of T shirts. Also, bring your own detergent pods, there are none in the villa and expensive to buy at the store. There is air conditioning in both bedrooms and the living room and it works well. We would turn it off when we left in the morning. We would arrive back at the villa around 5:00 and found just opening the patio doors would be all the air we needed. We did leave it on during the night in our bedroom. One thing I would do if going back would be to bring my own sleeping pillow. The bed itself was fine. There is a patio off the master bedroom but no chairs to sit on. For us this didn't matter as we "lived" on the main deck which is on the canal. There's a table and chairs there and 2 loungers. We did really wish there were pillows for the loungers. There is a BBQ which we used most nights and it worked well. There are 2 foldable beach chairs to take to the beach with you as well as beach towels and pool noodles. I wish there was a beach umbrella, this would have made such a difference as you can't always get shade on North Beach if you are not lucky enough to find a vacant palm tree and never on South Beach. You can rent loungers and umbrellas on South Beach. We left JH and went to many of beaches and they are all wonderful. If you want to leave JH you will need a car. We rented one at the airport and it cost 691.00 Canadian dollars for 2 weeks. If you don't want to leave JH you would need a golf cart to get around to the grocery store, restaurants, etc.(15-20 minute) walk. The walk to North Beach is only about 5 minutes from this villa. North Beach is very quite, South Beach is where to go if you enjoy a populated beach and people watching. All in all it was a great villa to rent and we would go back again.

Beautiful

The property owner made sure we had all the information needed to have before we arrived, Shari, his property manager was excellent with information and checking in. The villa was well equipped with everything needed. The location was perfect with grocery store pharmacy and restaurants. We had the beach to ourselves most days. We rented a golf cart from Jolly cart rentals, Wayne was superb. The only issue was the mattress was a little hard for us, but we are super picky on this. Overall excellent

We love Antigua and the friendly laid back lifestyle. Jolly Harbour is the only resort of its kind in the Caribbean where you can tie your boat right outside your patio. We also enjoy golf and can take advantage of the golf course along with the terrific community atmosphere.

Jolly Harbour has everything you need from a fully stocked grocery store to several restaurants and bars along with shops, banking facilities, pharmacy, medical offices and rental companies.

The North Beach is only 2 tenths of a mile away, a 5 minute walk from our villa. It is very quiet and secluded. If you want more action the South Beach has a Beach Bar along with beach vendors.

Our villa faces east so you can enjoy the morning sun with your coffee overlooking the harbour from the patio, then enjoy the shade in the afternoon. Due to the orientation with the flow through breeze, we rarely use the AC, enjoying peaceful evenings and restful nights.

We collect art with some beautiful pieces in our villa for our guests to enjoy. We have owned in Jolly Harbour for over 20 years and are are constantly updating our vacation home to provide a luxurious and comfortable stay.
