Dawn is an absolutely wonderful host! Her home on the bay was the perfect getaway. Quaint, cozy, and just a mile from the beach. We especially loved sitting on the porch, watching the ducks swim by. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The location was ideal, and everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. We truly loved it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene escape. We’ll definitely be back!

Perfect getaway!!!

I can’t say enough good things about our stay! The house was perfect and our host was wonderful. Only a few minutes from the beach but located in a quiet neighborhood, seemed like everything was a 5 minute drive away. House is clean and well kept. I recommend this perfect little oasis 100%!!

If you enjoy water views and wildlife this is a sweet place to visit.

First time visiting Virginia Beach. We really liked this home. It was way more spacious than a beach front condo. The private pool and porch were really nice. It was close to everything too. Being on the water and seeing all the wildlife was really neat.

Relaxing getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was well maintained and looked like a remodeled home on HGTV!. We loved having a private pool and found having two sinks in the bathroom very helpful. Dawn was very responsive to our needs and everyone that we met in the area was very nice.

Scenic and relaxing

Very clean and updated property. A bonus that it has a pool and a beautiful view. Everything you need is supplied. I would highly recommend. The only down fall is the very noisy jets, we felt like we were on Top Gun!

Hi David - Thank you so much for the feedback. I’ve built a new patio, replaced the outdoor table, chairs and loveseat and added new blinds to the house. Curtains would restrict the large windows and beautiful water views but I very much appreciate your suggestion. The patio furniture was wet and unpleasant from the storms, but no mold was found. I wish you had contacted me and I would’ve gladly changed out any furniture that you found objectionable.

Waterfront Oasis

Fantastic little bungalow on a quiet residential street, only a 5-minute drive from the beach. We stayed in September and had use of the pool and kayaks - we even tried some fishing and crabbing from the yard. The house was well-appointed, and the host was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! For those looking to see some fast airplanes, this was a good place to be during the Oceana Air Show. We kayaked out on the water and the Blue Angels flew directly overhead!

Central VB location but buffered by nature

This property is on the water which was teeming with water foul of a wide variety. Families of ducks, geese, herons and osprey, are just a short distance from the back door. The house was clean and equipped with everything needed for fun.

Beach haven for a small family

If you are looking for a great place to bring your family this is it. My 5 and 9 year old daughters could not get out of the pool. In 5 days we only went to the beach once which is a 5 minute drive. Kids had so much fun in the kayaks and seeing all of the wildlife the place has to offer. Dawn is so accommodating and when I needed anything she was quick to respond. When we got home my kids asked when we are going back! Definitely check this place out! Thank you Dawn!

Short Stay on Bay Way

Dawn has wonderful customer service. She was very polite, especially when i had to call her at 1am cause we locked ourselves out the house. She wasted no time and had her son there in less than 10 minutes to let us in. the property is very well kept and inside was spotless. i would definitely book again in the future. Thank you so much to you and your family.

Tranquil Stay, Close to the Beach

The house is definitely secluded, as the Vrbo description suggests, but is still only a 5 minute drive to the beach. Anything else you may need, Walmart, Target, fast food, restaurants, are also all nearby. There’s only one bathroom, but it’s located right off the master suite, which is nice. There is also access from the hallway, se easily accessible for all the guests. There is a large in-ground pool, kayaks, and lots of windows with views to the water out back. It is a very peaceful location that is also close to everything. The host was very pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. The only downside, if you choose to see it that way, is the fact that it is very close to the Naval Base, which means there are Navy Jets flying overhead many times a day. We thought it was cool and didn’t mind it at all, but I could see how some people may be bothered by it. We enjoyed our stay very much!

What a beautiful respite during a tough time

We were in Virginia Beach to assist a critically ill relative. We didn’t want to stay in a hotel with the beach and party crowd. When I saw this listing I knew it was perfect. I was not disappointed. The pictures on the listing depict the home perfectly. Clean. White. Bright. Open. Lovely views of the bay and water bird activity. There is a great open kitchen ideal for cooking if you desire. The living room has a comfortable couch and large TV. The bedrooms are nice - especially the one with a view of the bay. Bathroom is very nice with a great shower. Sheets and towels were provided. Also Keurig and a Mister Coffee. If we are lucky enough to return for a vacation, we may not leave the sun porch!

A Slice of Heaven

Our family recently experienced the unimaginable — being displaced from our home due to a house fire. In the middle of such chaos, staying at Dawn’s place for a week truly felt like finding a slice of heaven. It was the perfect sanctuary that gave us a sense of normalcy, comfort, and peace we desperately needed.From the moment we arrived, Dawn was absolutely amazing with her communication. She was kind, thoughtful, and quick to respond to any questions, which made everything so much easier for us. On top of that, she graciously offered us a military discount, which we deeply appreciated, especially during such a challenging time.Her home is immaculate — neat, beautifully maintained, and full of charm. The décor is stunning, radiating a breezy, beachy vibe that instantly puts you at ease. Every detail has clearly been chosen with care, and it all comes together to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.The backyard was one of our favorite parts. The pool is sparkling clean and perfect for relaxing or cooling off on warm days. Beyond the pool, there’s a beautiful lake where our kids absolutely loved fishing and spending time outdoors. It gave them a chance to have fun and just be kids again, which meant so much to us.The location is also fantastic — close to stores and with plenty of restaurants nearby, making everything convenient and stress-free.And the beds… oh my goodness! They are some of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. The sheets are soft and luxurio

Amazing experience

My husband and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and we definitely chose a wonderful serene place to celebrate our special occasion.We absolutely loved it here because it fit us perfectly! The pool was awesome... the scenery was great and all the different birds that we got to experience....what a joy that was! We definitely will be back to enjoy some more of this beautiful cottage! Our host Dawn was amazing and her hospitality was A-1! My husband was getting ready to cook on the grill, but the propane tank was empty. I texted Dawn the situation and she was on it immediately and we had a refilled tank within a half hour! Anyone that chooses to vacation here, hopefully you will enjoy it as much as my husband and I did! THANKS AGAIN DAWN! Regina and Troy Freed

Mini vacation stay with my hubby

My husband and I wanted to get away for a short vaca and decided on Virginia Beach. We chose this home because it was on a creek and in close proximity to the beach. It was also very close to Hilltop which is a very large shopping plaza. We spent some time there checking out the shops and the eateries. We took a few trips on the creek in the kayaks supplied by the owner which was very enjoyable. Unfortunately we were not able to use the heated pool due to the chilly weather while we were there but it was kept very clean. We enjoyed our time sitting on the dock and the deck watching the wildlife and the jets going by! The owner was very responsive and accommodating. The home was clean and had all the necessities plus more. Highly recommend this place!

Relaxing Hideaway

Our mini-vacation stay here was so amazing. There was delightful sensory overload with the beautiful pool, the waterway filled with fish jumping, beautiful birds, wild ducks and gorgeous sunsets. The modern house was something out of a magazine…so clean, bright, airy and beautifully decorated. The beds and bedding were so comfortable and sleep was wonderful. Dawn was a great property manager and quick to respond to the few questions we had. Highly recommend. I just got home and I miss the place already!
