Great house within walking distance of L&N. This house is super cute, clean, and has ample parking. Host was accommodating and friendly and the place was in great shape. The pictures don't really do justice to how much space there really is. We would definitely stay again. The outside area is fantastic and we didn't get to use much due to the weather. It would be wonderful to stay here when it's warm.

It was a wonderful stay. There was enough room for all of our family and friends to have their own space. The kitchen was well appointed and the accommodations were in a wonderful location. The neighborhood was quiet during quiet hours. It was wonderful.

The rooms were clean, theonly thing i did not like was that all the cookware and utensils were non-stick teflon coated with a million scratches on it and the cutting board was also plastic.

The place was perfect for our family of 5. Incredibly convenient to Churchill Downs and the Expo Center. It’s basically 2 properties combined into one…upstairs and downstairs units each have 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a kitchen. Very clean and well decorated. We will definitely stay here again if we ever come back. Thanks!

Perfect for the Derby

The perfect location for the Derby! Our host was amazing - lots of special touches and gifts - everything we could have wanted. It is on the backside of the track so definitely best for people who are attending events at Churchill Downs or love racing, but it's such a retreat inside - decorated beautifully, outfitted with everything we needed. We loved it.

Charismatic and perfect location

This place was perfectly located for our volleyball tournament at the expo center. We could see Churchill downs from our window and we enjoyed running around it! It was clean, spacious, and allowed space for each of mother/daughter to have its own bedroom and bathroom. We would highly recommend this place and will be returning next volleyball tournament!

Friends Trip

Enjoyed the property and the stay. The only complaint we had was al lack of pot for cooking. We were 4 couples that enjoy cooking meals. It was a struggle, but we managed.

Second Stay

It was our second time staying in this beautiful apartment. We come annually for the bourbon tours. This has always been our favorite spot. The photos dont lie. I wish we could stay here every single time!

Great House for Couples Getaway

Great house for our 4 couples to stay at for touring The Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Close enough to downtown, walking distance to Churchill Downs and Kentucky Derby Museum. Very clean!! Buff was very responsive with our questions before our trip, and she was very responsive while there. Had a little hiccup with the heater which she saw to very quickly and even left us a nice bottle of bourbon for our inconvenience. Gave only a 4 star for location and neighborhood due to looks of nearby houses and yards. Overall, a great experience and I would recommend this house for couples' getaway!!

Beautifully Renovated Historic Home

We loved all the room! We used both the upper and lower units and it was great. The bedrooms are large with comfy beds and beautiful decorating. 4 bathrooms are not an easy find for vacation rentals so this was a PLUS. I can't say enough about this great house, we loved that they remodeled, but kept the brick walls in tack, keeping the historic vibe. The parking in back was a great feature. I think the house is actually better than the pictures portray. You won't be disappointed in renting this house. We will definitely rent again if we come to Louisville!!

Basketball Trip

We had a basketball tournament at expo center and needed a break from hotel stays. We loved the house and it was perfect for our group! It was so convenient to be so close to the Expo Center where we were playing. Buff was an incredible host and so quick to respond to any questions!! Would recommend staying here!

Repeat Guests - Love this House!!

This is our second stay at The Churchill Backside and it was fabulous, again! The house is incredibly well stocked and has all the amenities you’d need for a comfortable stay. I love the extra touches like oscillating fans in each room and high thread count sheets. Highly recommend!

Cozy home, lots of space

We spent a long weekend in this home with some friends. We all had plenty of space to spread out. The house has been renovated and is very well appointed. The beds are comfortable and the living spaces are cozy. We had a couple of questions during our stay and the property owner was very responsive. Great stay!

I have lived in Louisville all my life and grew up watching my mom and dad with her sisters in hats go to The Derby! Then out to a locally owned restaurant for dinner. Fast forward and the traditions continue! Louisville is a great place to live and fun place to visit. We enjoy all the local restaurants, outdoor activities, sports, concerts plus The Bourbon Trail. My husband and I enjoyed renovating The Backside from an empty shell and bringing it back to life as a Vacation Rental in 2018. We are excited to host and look forward to your visit! Buff

Long weekend with relatives
Awesome place. Close enough to downtown to make for easy trips to/from dinner. Also just far enough away to shave off a little time for several distillery tours we did. Home was absolutely perfect for the 4 of us, exceptional/intuitive security system, squeaky clean, simple parking, great outside area. Great fit for us

This property is stunning!! Duplex with easy access to both levels, all the amenities and super freaking clean!! Close to the campus of Louisville, within 15 min drive of downtown and some awesome neighborhoods!! Had a couple of questions that were answered immediately and they even purchased a pack n play for my niece to sleep in. Property says it’s not child proof but the downstairs level was perfect for a 18 month old to have room to play.
