Weekend away

I want everyone to know what a wonderful, large family came to us as guests and treated our home like their own! The home was left spotless. There were 10 guest in our home, which had enough room for all ages and sizes. It is a pleasure renting to large families because we know that there are not many places available for bigger families to stay that have the amenities of a home on the water with a dock and built-in swimming pool.

I have asked several people who live in the area to tell me what smell they smell inside the house. One person said there was a faint smell of mildew, which is common in the summer in the water. But no one said anything about a dog urine smell. And, there is no dog even living there. I am sad you did not have a good time. Barb

This property was very nice. Had a great pool and a dock to park our boats at. We fished and hung out at the dock. Took about 15 minutes to get to tge lake by boat. We were all very comfortable there and the offsite owner was very nice. We hoghly recommend this place for a fishing adventure!!!

Fishing getaway

This is our 3rd time staying at this property. The home is always clean and well equipped. Pool is well maintained . It is so nice to have after a long hot day of fishing. The boat dock is great to have for our boat. The grandkids love the fishing deck. Mrs. Barb is an excellent host. She is always easy to communicate with. She has a nice surprise delivered on day of check in. It is greatly appreciated. We will definitely be staying again. Great place to stay for fishing the canals and lake. Thanks again

The hosts went above and beyond for our stay!! Everything was as perfect as we could have asked. The pool, the dock and the home met all of our needs. We truly were able to unplug and relax. Thank you so much Barb!!

Called owner twice and left message because I had questions about checking in and out. We eventually found the key outside. Hope we done everything correctly when leaving. Great place and location.

I did not see Jerry's phone message until one day after he left. I spoke with him this morning, and I apologized for the lack of communication. I am not sure why I did not see that phone message until this morning. This has never happened to me before, but I own it as it was inexcusable that it happened. Jerry was so forgiving, and I really appreciate his kindness. I am glad he still had a great time, and I will be watching my phone with more diligence! I try to make my guests feel at home. Once my guests have spent time at our VRBO, I consider them to be my guest friends! Try our place when you have a chance. It is clean, located perfectly for fishing, swimming, barbecuing, and relaxing - and, I give you my word that I will watch my phone the whole time you are there! A shoutout to Jerry: Looking forward to seeing you again!

Great place

Great place for three family with kids and dog. Plenty of sleeping, storage space. This is great vacation property - nearby Walmart; farmers market). We had our boat so we use the boat dock. Great view for canal with lots of birds - pelican, cranes .... Kitchen - coffee maker, lots of plates, bowls, utensil - not so much cups for coffee, tea. We visit - Everglades NP, Biscayne NP, Legoland, Jensen Beach, Jupiter Beach .... The worst for us was weather - we cant use pool - not heated- water was cold.

We enjoyed having you as guests. I will be sure to stock the cabinet with more coffee cups. I appreciate the comment. Not being a coffee drinker, I definitely overlooked that item. I always feel bad for those who must endure a week of less than perfect weather. The pool is definitely colder during the winter season but comfortable from April to November. Spacious home

The owners are very responsive. Anything we needed they promptly responded and resolved. The 2 bedrooms are very large, one has bunl beds in it with another large pull out bed in living area. Lots of different areas to hang out with family. The pool was plenty big for our size family. Some pool toys available and we also bought some extras at the local dollar store. Everyone loved sitting and fishing off the covered dock. The owners left lots of snacks and goodies for the family which was super sweet. We would definitely stay again

The two larger bedrooms do sleep lots of family and friends, with the smaller room with bunk beds creates a great, private place, including for the kids being in their own area but close to adults. Fishing Vacation

Barb, our host is awesome. When we arrived we were met by a delivery of groceries, fruit, snacks for the kids, water. That was a pleasant surprise. This is our second stay at Taylor Creek. We will definitely come back again. There have been some improvements made to the property since our first visit. There were 5 adults and 2 children. We had ample room for all. The home had everything we needed for our stay. The only thing we missed was the fish cleaning station that was on the dock for our first trip. My husband is a mechanical engineer working on equipment that goes into space, and he is also a church pastor. We run a small, Christian school, food and clothing pantry, thrift store, and benevolence program for people in the Glades communities. Our church is small, but we give out over 500 boxes of food every week in our small town of Pahokee, FL. I am the principal of our school and earned my bachelor's and master's degree in New Jersey. We both grew up at the shore - he is from CT and I am from NJ - and we love the water.

My husband and I have guardianship of three grandchildren, ages 17, 15, and 10, and we have seven grown children; one is a professor in technical theater at a local university, and one of our daughters is an elementary school teacher in Palm Beach County. Our blended family began 20 years ago with two boys and five girls.

In the past, we have rented other places along the eastern seaboard with our children and had wonderful times with them. We always had fun, and we are here to help you have fun in Okeechobee. We live 30 minutes away from the property and have a son who lives in Okeechobee; so, if there is ever an issue, we are right there to get it taken care of quickly.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We bought this home for our retirement (but not sure we will ever do so). Even so, our grandchildren enjoy the pool and the water - fishing and boating - as well as playing on their phone (ugh!). It is relaxing to get away from it all. And, since we are not able to use it on a regular basis, we thought we could share it with others who are in need of a peaceful place to relax as well as enjoy the scenery. It's a great place to write a book! The neighborhood is quiet (except for our grandchildren) but filled with friendly people. Lots of the neighbors are only down during season. We like it because we can get here in 30 minutes and not have to spend hours traveling with children who continually eat, need to go to the bathroom, and want to know, "Are we there yet?"

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We both grew up on the water, so this is a place we can afford. We love the pool. We love fishing off the dock. We love the ambience of the water. It is even a nice place when it rains because we can go out to the screened porch, play games, and not even get wet! We love having the whole city of Okeechobee just three minutes away from the house yet not feeling like we are in the city. Of course, Okeechobee is not crowded like Miami, but for people who like to be outdoors, this is a great place to vacation. Rent a pontoon boat; take a ride on an airboat; have a captain take you out fishing; visit Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee about 45 minutes away; take a day trip to Orlando and enjoy all its amenities. Certain times of the year, you can watch a rodeo in person, wait for Santa Claus to come down the street, or visit the thrift stores and craft stores all over the area.
