Esta casa de nueva construcción es espaciosa y luminosa, apta para niños y perros, con una acogedora sala, una cocina completa y un porche cubierto. Es un gran lugar de reunión para que amigos y familias escapen de la velocidad y el ruido de la ciudad y encuentren la paz curativa de la naturaleza y el silencio.

Hay una cocina completa diseñada especialmente para personas que quieren cocinar sus propias comidas. La casa está en un nivel por lo que no hay escaleras para negociar.

Los huéspedes tienen acceso a toda la casa y pueden pasear por la granja o pasearse por Crippen Creek.

Nuestra casa está en las instalaciones y estamos disponibles para los huéspedes según sea necesario. Los huéspedes pueden solicitar información sobre las comidas opcionales que podemos ofrecer, así como clases de cocina y talleres.

We had a wonderful stay and would book this place again without hesitation. The listing photos and description were accurate — the home was clean, well-maintained, and felt like a real home instead of a sterile rental.A really nice touch: homemade cinnamon rolls and cookies were waiting when we arrived. It immediately made the place feel welcoming and set a great tone for the trip.

Aug 1-14, 2026 This home was a real joy to us ! The 3 most important things were the quiet, the solitude and the peacefulness that this brought us ! The house is modern with modern appliances in the kitchen which is fully equipped for cooking meals in. The beds were great ( our backs never hurt ) ! Also plenty of good lighting throughout the whole house. The area is surrounded with American history and you are also only 1 hour from historic Astoria. Our hosts were the greatest, the best we have ever had over the years. We really loved it here and plan to return if we can !!

We stayed here while playing lucky mud disc golf course. It was a perfect location. Great space, super comfy!

The location was beautiful and secluded, away from busy roads and traffic. A perfect peaceful escape for my wife and I, and our two Great Danes who for as big as they are, are traumatized by the seemingly endless fireworks on and around the 4th of July in Vancouver, Wa. From the evening of the 3rd, through the morning of the 5th, I think I saw maybe 3 cars pass the house on the long dead end road. The soothing sound of a nearby creek, some wandering deer, floating butterflies, forest, a mountain hike and tranquil fields were our main companions. At first our two pups didn't know what to make of all of the beautiful and uncontested scenery, but they quickly settled in peacefully to their new environment. The house was perfect, with plenty of space for our 4 granddaughters to sleep, when we plan on returning with them later this year to watch the salmon run in the nearby creek. The house was spotless, 3 bedrooms, two large baths, a fenced patio with a grill, and the A/C really came in handy when things heated up on the 4th. Don and Kitty who live about a 5 minute walk away are wonderful, friendly folks, who let us know we were welcome to say hi if we chose to visit. I couldn't have asked for a nicer place to visit to get away from the noise of Vancouver. I am already thinking about the fun and relaxation we will have when we go back!

Beautiful get-away

This is a purpose-built home with vacationing friends or family to enjoy. It is beautifully appointed in a tranquil setting just 5 minutes from the Columbia river. The hosts are warm and welcoming. I really couldn't have asked for anything more.

Independence weekend

This house is so lovely, I would recommend! Upon arrival there were home made brownies made which I thought were very thoughtful. My family and I enjoyed staying here and the beds were so comfortable! Thank you Kitty for being so responsive and for everything!

Amazing, quiet and relaxing.

We loved every minute of this place. First morning we woke up to baby deer just outside our front door. The house is spacious and fully stocked. Owners were great to work with and responded to all of our questions quickly. We will be back.

Ease and Relaxation "TOPS"

The whole layout of the places was easy to get around and relaxing immediately upon entering. Two full bathrooms a plus for the five adults the were us. Having a sound and bug isolated veranda was just the place to escape into a book while the others watched television inside. We really enjoyed our stay and will likely return. Deer grazed in the surrounding fields at night. Just beautiful!

Wonderful!

We had a great time at the Roadhouse! Kitty and Don were perfect hosts. They gifted us with delicious cinnamon rolls and farm fresh eggs upon arrival. The house was super clean and set up well. We enjoyed exploring the creek and walking around to see the chickens and cows. The screened in porch was perfect in the evenings. The house was relaxing and had everything we needed. We hope to be back soon!

We will definitely be back!

Our family stayed for 5 days, and we had a wonderful time. The place was very clean and beautifully decorated. It had everything you need from cooking to laundry. The owners Kitty and Don were very nice and friendly. Their house is in walking distance if you need anything, yet you still have privacy in a separate house. There is a little creek you can explore and a hammock by their house, and they also let us pick blueberries in their garden. We went to Long Beach and Astoria during our stay (Both about one hour drive - nice day trips). Longview is also about one hour away if you want more stores/restaurants. The best part is that this place is dog friendly. It’s hard to find a nice place that allows dogs so we were very thankful. If you are looking for a nice place in a quiet small town just to relax and spend time with family/friends, this is a perfect house!

Great peaceful home surrounded by fields and trees

Beautiful quiet area with lots of wild life. The creeks run all around the property and its very peaceful to sit in the screened in patio, listening to them. Deer came right up to the fence line, and we watched heroin fly into the creek area. Tracked some elk on the local trails in the snow and found them down the road eating out in the fields. Plenty of wildlife even during the winter and lots of forest roads to explore. I agreed with another review, a few more window treatments could be used in the dining room and kitchen windows as well as the narrow windows above the beds. I also think some sort of heater out on the patio would have really put it over the top as during the colder months that area doesn't get much sun and its an amazing place to be. There isn't many movies so bring your blue ray or dvds, otherwise the internet was plenty strong for us to stream things from our media laptop and hook up to the TV. Something I have found at many rentals is a lack of good sound systems with Bluetooth, I'd highly recommend that for this place to stand out. We bring our own travel speaker and the internet allowed us to also stream music just fine. Another thing we find missing a lot is a water filter system, that would be another thing to put it over the top. We've already planned the next trip back here and am very thankful for the dog friendliness, its hard to find good places that don't discriminate against dog owners. This place is easily in the top 3 best rentals we've stayed at, thank you for an amazing experience and excited to come back soon!

Thank you for your kind words and suggestions. We have thought about a heater for the screened porch but have decided that it would be too much of a liability with different guests every week. Not all guests are good at turning things off. We are working on the window treatments but with Covid, it has been a bit of a challenge with so few items available in the stores. Also, we will look into your idea about the Bluetooth sound system. Our water goes through an elaborate filtration system. Did you find a problem with it?Thanks for your wonderful suggestions. Well stocked escape from the city

This place is nestled in a gorgeous area between the river and the coast. A creek runs past and it’s quite lovely. Our family was very impressed by the care that Kitty & Don put into making this a cozy getaway. They’ve prepared everything you could possibly need and more in this space. Puzzles, books, kitchen gadgets, and very comfortable furniture. Highly recommend taking a vacation at their space!

Cozy and Quiet

We enjoyed our stay at this sweet cottage just outside Skamakowa, WA. The hosts were kind and welcoming. We found chocolate-peanut butter bars and cinnamon rolls in the 'frig, and Don baked us two loaves of his special "Tartine" bread. We loved the end-of-the -road location--a perfect place to take walks with our two young energetic collies. They loved romping in the pasture, too. Quiet and peaceful--we were relaxed and well-fed by the end of our stay. Highly recommend!

Lovely home in the country- so relaxing & quiet!

What a wonderful week we had at this great home! The owners are so friendly & hospitable, simply the best hosts we’ve had the pleasure to meet at any rental. The house is very well equipped and a great kitchen to cook in. The beds were so comfortable and the fireplace really cozy. Nestled in a quiet location, with the sound of the creek running nearby, be sure to step out at night to see the glory of the stars. Peaceful, quiet and all of the above.

Peaceful and relaxing retreat

This is a home away from home. It's easily the most well-kept VRBO we have ever stayed in. It's been a great place to go to relax and get away from the hustle and noise of the city. We've seen lots of wildlife in during our stays - deer, elk, birds, even a coyote. The electric fencing keeps the latter away from the house. One thing I would recommend is a few more pots and pans in the kitchen for making meals, since there are no places to get prepared food nearby. Other than that, the house has everything you need - and more! Plenty of puzzles, games, and books to keep you entertained. We also had Kitty and Don prepare dinner for us the night we arrived and it was amazing! Everything was delicious and there was enough food for leftovers. We can't wait to come back!

Nice house, not Astoria as listed.

Remote and secluded. more window coverings would have been nice. Beautiful and comfortable home. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Annette, I am so sorry that you thought the Roadhouse was in Astoria. I have looked through our listing and am not able to find where it tells you that we are in Astoria. Our listing says Skamokawa, WA. If you could let me know where it says we are in Astoria, I will change it. I am so sorry that you were disappointed. Thanks for letting me know.

On our secluded 15 acres we attempt organic gardening, raise our own meat and passionately pursue a more contemplative life. We enjoy hosting guests in our small country inn. Kitty beautifies our home with her fiber art -- needle-pointing, rug hooking and knitting. The kitchen is Don’s domain where he loves preparing classic dishes from around the world and teaching cooking classes.

Our main house has only 2 guest rooms and was not conducive to children and pets. We built the Roadhouse as a family friendly gathering place in order to share the beauty and peace that our property provides.

We are nestled in a quiet valley that feels remote yet is a perfect location to make day trips to the Washington or Oregon Coast. Hike or bike our nearly traffic free country roads or relax by the creek with a good book. Just minutes away from Vista Park where you can play on sandy beaches of the Columbia River, fly kites or just watch the ships go by. Be sure to check with us about cooking classes or optional gourmet dinners.
