Ilikai condo

Location/hotel itself was great. As for the unit itself I was a bit disappointed. I’ve stayed in lots of rentals over many years. This was more of a hotel on a budget. No welcome package with things to do or recommendations (PS the Hilton next door has a massive fire work show on the beach on fridays that we missed :( ) I haven’t stayed in a rental yet that didn’t have this. There was only sheets on the bed, so when pulling out the blankets from the closets they were dirty and/or stained. The kitchen Reno was very nice. The bathroom, closets, baseboards, floors and walls need a major deep clean. Black finger marks on light switches and corners. There was hair in the drain in the shower. Dirty/dusty Nooks/shelving, hair/dust in corners of walls. The amenities were also VERY slim. The beach chairs were rusted, and ripped. There was 1 garbage bag, 1 dishwasher pack, 1 paper towel roll. I pack of coffee with 2 sugar bags. Not so bad if your there for a night or 2 but we stayed 10 nights. I don’t expect to have everything, but I have never stayed somewhere with so little. No beach towels, had to buy our own. And only 2 sets of towels in total. We payed a cleaning fee and we’re still asked to do dishes. Loud AC unit. Nothing very basic for cooking, salt/pepper etc. Rentals are becoming top dollar accommodations, the basics are a wonderful thing. I’m now staying on the north shore and this condo is MUCH older and run down, it’s clean, and has everything you need.

Excellent spot

This location is great. The condo was clean and stocked. Guest passes to the gym in the building would be an added bonus although I was already told that it wouldn’t happen. Other than that, the view was great, communication with host (company) was good. No issues with this stay.

Good stay

This condo was nice and spacious. I think a few things could use attention. Shower curtain liner had a lot of soap scum and I think that should have been replaced. Paint is worn in some areas and for me personally the a/c is super loud. I had to turn it off at night in order to sleep. Also noisy is the fridge but couldn’t turn that off so I was stuck with the hissing sound it made. I’m not sure why such a high cleaning fee is charged when you have to do some of your own cleaning at check out - throw all trash and clean all used dishes. Aside from that, the location & property is nice. I enjoyed the coffee shop downstairs however that has to be timed right or the line is very long. I booked last min so this was a good option for a last minute booking when few options were available. The view on the balcony at sunset & evening time is gorgeous!

Great stay at Ilikai

Very nice room & property, great views, roomy, close to everything. Could use better instructions on access to parking and getting from parking to property entrance with luggage. The drop off area was backed up onto street in pouring rain.

Very enjoyable stay in Hawaii.

All the comforts of home. Attention to detail by providing beach chairs, lots of hangers and basic amenities. Kitchen had everything we needed including small appliances. The view was fantastic overlooking the harbor and Ala Moana beach. Close to Waikiki beach.

15th Anniversary Waikiki

Overall a Great 8 Nights and 7 Days spent all over Oahu. We returned to Waikiki after 15 years from our Honeymoon in July of 2006. A lot has changed around the areas since then, but still an awesome experience! The Studio Condo was just what we needed while we stayed. 2 different pools to choose from, short walking access to the piers and beach. Access Hilton Hawaiian Village with a very short walk. Really can’t go wrong here!! Valet Park and make it easy on yourself!! We look forward to coming back again very soon !!!

Listing accurate. Closets were missing doors as pictured. Well supplied, listing did not mention hair dryer & convenient laundry basket.

Great stay with great view

Place is nice and clean with great ocean view. You can get great view of sunset from balcony. A bit away from heart of Waikiki, but not too far off (about 15 minutes walk). Access to coin operated laundry room and garbage disposal was easy as well. I didn't mention it during my stay, but TV has horrible display and should be replaced immediately.

Great Location and Views

We enjoyed the location of this property on the north end of Waikiki, slightly beyond all the crowds, but still easy to walk to heart of all the action. Views were amazing and the balcony is great. Many tours and transportation options pick up/drop off in front of the property, so that is convenient. Only complaint is there are no great food/drink options on the property and there are many chain restaurants in the immediate vicinity. We did easily utilize the restaurants and bars at the Modern hotel next door, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Good value for Waikiki.

My stay at the Ilikai

I stayed at this property 41 years ago when I was 7. It was great to revisit it - it brought back many great memories. We usually go to Maui, but Honolulu was a nice change. This unit was clean, updated and had a great view of the marina. The restaurant downstairs was good for breakfast, and drinks too! We both enjoyed the property. My only complaint would be that we were only there for 3 nights and the nightly rate seems reasonable until you add all the fees.... We arrived at 11am on Friday and couldn't get into our room until 4pm... and had to be out by 11am Monday so we weren't even in the room for 72 hours and the room cost $768 US. ($404 for the room and $364 for fees). We would definitely consider going back, however would maybe look at a hotel situation instead to avoid the extra costs.... Maholo!

Love the Ilikai

We love staying at the Ilikai. Tradition for Transpac racers. Love that we can now rent studio apartments to have a full kitchen for breakfasts and having a few friends over for appetizers. Only issue with this particular is that the tile floor was filthy! Our feet were black after walking around the unit unpacking the first day. Luckily there was a mop and I was able to clean but had to go over the floors 3 times to get up all the dirt. It's a shame since there is a $300 admin/cleaning fee.
