Shenandoah Riverfront - Happy Peach Cottage

Ven a relajarte y disfruta en The Peach! Ubicado en la base de las montañas de Massanutten en el Tenedor del Norte del río Shenandoah (100 pies de frente), esta acogedora casa es la base perfecta para aventuras o una escapada tranquila. Pesca, senderismo, rafting, compras de antigüedades, degustación de vinos, explorar cavernas o visitar sitios históricos son solo algunas de las posibilidades. Nuestra casa de 2 dormitorios es una escapada ideal para un grupo pequeño o familiar y está a solo una hora y 20 minutos en automóvil de DC.

La casa está en un terreno arbolado cerca del final de una calle tranquila. Un gran porche cubierto frente al río es ideal para cenar, juegos de mesa o simplemente relajarse y escuchar los sonidos de la naturaleza. El porche tiene iluminación y ventiladores de techo para mantener las cosas frescas. Hay asientos al aire libre adicionales en la cubierta y un pozo de fuego justo bajando los escalones. Abundan las especies silvestres, que incluyen ciervos, una variedad de aves, nutria de río, rata almizclera y oso.

We booked this trip very last minute and we had excellent communication throughout the process. We were looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway and that’s exactly what we got. The house was immaculate. It was very roomy yet cozy and comfortable. They provide literally everything you can think of and some things that you wouldn’t think of. We even cooked dinner at the house one evening. At one point, we lost power and the host was in constant communication regarding the issue. We made the most of it. They provided a battery operated lantern and board games and we had a good time. We saw lots of wildlife, but honestly just watching the water go by was so peaceful and relaxing. A all around. Absolutely zero negative things to say. The beds were very comfortable as well. Plenty of outdoor seating. They provide everything you need to start a fire in the pit. My personal favorite thing was the screened in porch. It was so nice to bundle up and have coffee in the morning while watching the birds and we even saw an otter! It was just a very nice getaway.

Excellent stay

Excellent place to stay, peaceful, quiet, can easily relax here. Still was able to drive to do some sightseeing. This has been one of our favorite places to stay. Hopefully we can come back some day. Highly recommend staying here.

Little Oasis

The Happy Peach is perfect for a getaway. It’s spacious and warmly decorated, welcoming everyone to spread out and relax. The view of the river and the feeling of seclusion yet just 10 minutes outside of town is unmatched. We enjoyed a day downtown visiting the brewery and antique shops, of which there are plenty. We also enjoyed a day watching the snow fall and cooking, reading, and just relaxing. It’s a perfect location and perfect place to find a little peace and time to connect with your partner/yourself/nature.

We loved our escape to the Happy Peach

We are repeat guests and we keep coming back for the excellent service, charming home with all the necessary comforts, and location. It’s a fantastic escape from the hustle and bustle. Callie is an excellent host and the process from booking until check out is easy and clear. Make sure you read through the binder that they leave out for you. It’s got lots of great info on local restaurants and activities!

Shenandoah get away

This is a great property a short drive from many of the popular western Virginia attractions. The house has everything you need and the host is very accommodating. We had some concerns with bad weather and the host helped us resolve with no issue. This house is a short drive to several towns for dining and exploring. It is fully equipped if prefer to cook for yourself. The screen porch was our favorite feature and we loved watching the river and the wildlife. Recommend to anyone wanting a comfortable getaway!

Relaxing weekend at the happy peach

We had a great time at this property! Nice and quiet, secluded enough to feel disconnected to the world but close enough to Town to get almost anything you needed. We enjoyed the river and the firepir here, and the wildlife that paid us visits.

Tranquil and bucolic getaway!

If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with excellent access to the Shenandoah Valley, the Happy Peach is a fantastic option! It’s a cozy cabin overlooking the Shenandoah River that feels a world away from everything but is only minutes from downtown Strasburg, I-81 and I-66. The deck, screen porch, outdoor fire pit, and grassy flat area by the accessible river offer lots of options to enjoy nature. Easily navigable deep steps make accessing the river or the flat adjoining river bank area manageable (though there’s no handrail). The home is clean and comfortable, with lots of considerate touches (information on area attractions and restaurants, games, a well stocked kitchen, lots of extra pillows in the closet…) that make for a great visit. The primary bedroom and attached full bath (2nd floor) were very generously sized with plenty of space for luggage. Callie was prompt and thorough in all communication, offering helpful advice to questions before and during our visit. We’d love to visit again! Thank you for hosting us!

Tucked away, but not too far!

A truly unique cabin/home that blends in nicely with nature and it's surroundings. Ultra clean property that is well taken care of, the new steps to the waters edge are a nice touch! Off the beaten path, but minutes from all the necessities. This is a great place to get lost, or go exploring on foot, bicycle or by car.

Loved it!

First, I have to say that Callie is a wonderful host. Snow was expected the night before our arrival and she texted with us to make sure we wanted to keep our reservation and then kept us up to date with the conditions of the roads. She even had the wonderful neighbor clear the driveway and porch. We felt welcome the moment we arrived. The reason for our visit was to enjoy some cooler weather. Be careful what you wish for because it was in the single digits! We loved it. While it was a little too chilly to enjoy the beautiful rocking chairs on the porch or the firepit by the river, we loved staying cozy by the fire inside. The property was beautiful covered in snow. We enjoyed walks at the River Walk in the park and at Seven Bend Park. The house was very clean and was stocked with everything you might need. These Floridians felt so lucky to be there during this snow! Look no futher. This is a great place to stay. I would love to come back in the summer also!

Quiet winter weekend

River Recharge

We booked the Happy Peach for a relaxing weekend getaway for our family of 4. We had a rainy few days, but enjoyed every minute of our stay. The property is amazing and Callie was a wonderful host. A great spot to stay put and unwind, but also a short drive to hiking, dining, and shopping.

We LOVE the Happy Peach

This is the ultimate place to relax and unwind. We love that it's off the beaten path and in such a quiet, calm setting. We kayak, fish, tube, hike and just sit on the screened in porch and read. The communication with Callie is excellent and the house amenities are fantastic. We will certainly be back.

Relaxing home away from home

Our family really enjoyed being here. The house had all the features we loved and more. We especially enjoyed sitting by the river and the screened in porch I’m the evenings. The house was very spacious yet cozy. Like home away from home. I especially want to say our host was so attentive and easy to contact if needed. We look forward to going back again.

My husband and I brought our 5 month old for a little getaway and we were not disappointed! Callie was so accommodating and easy to get in touch with. We felt right at home in the master bedroom—it was extra cozy. The master bedroom and screened porch make this getaway 5 stars alone. Add in the river, the wine berries around the property and the surrounding beauty and you have it made! The Mountain View on the way to and from the property is breathtaking. Watch out for the gnats in the heat of the summer (mostly toward the road where the forest gets really dense). They tend to want to fly straight into your eyes and I had one stuck in there for a few hours (thankfully got it out). This is basically on national forest land so there’s nothing but forest for miles if you’re looking straight out the front of the property. Beautiful stay! I can imagine the fall would be equally as beautiful here. We will be coming back.

WONDERFUL PLACE

Nice clean place that has a great location and really everything that you need. Kids loved fishing and tubing and we had a nice relaxing get away. Definitely recommend.
