Only two 1/2 blocks to the beach. Close to the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, Virginia Marine Science Museum and Water Park and Golf Courses.

Great Dog Friendly Beach House

Property was clean and only a short walk to the beach. Beach was only crowded on 4th of July, but nowhere near as crowded as the resort area. We will definitely stay again in the future.

Love this place

Location was perfect. The lake joining the back yard was perfect. Walk to beach was short. neighborhood very quite and peaceful. House was great with plenty of room for our perfect vacation. Highly recommend this home for a family vacation.

Comfortable and cozy

Really nice accommodations. Less than 5 minute walk to the beach. Had high expectations and they were met. Small recommendation would be to replace the mattresses before too much longer. But I'm a really picky mattress person so wouldn't mark it down for that.

Beach house

It was a really great location. House is a little dated, but it was just the right amenities. The cleaning company used needs to be changed. They could have done better. Overall, it was a great place. Bring your own linen. Rental does not provide.

Wonderful family vacation

The house was a bit bigger I than expect. My kids loved the “hidden” bunk room. The back yard was a piece of Heaven overlooking the lake. A nice place for my kids to play in the shade. The neighborhood is wonderful, peaceful and safe. Everyone is friendly. 5 minute drive to the boardwalk. A two minute walk to a private beach. One of my favorite vacation spots yet. I hope to visit again.

Disappointed

I will start with the positive. The location is excellent. Lake in the backyard and just a couple of blocks from the beach. We were disappointed in the property itself and our contact with realtor who was over seeing this property. This house is very dated and we knew that coming in but we were not expecting it to be rundown and not clean. There are stains on the carpets, cobwebs everywhere and the down right filthy air filters and returns for the HVAC. The utensils in the utensil drawers( which were completely unorganized and just thrown in) had to be rewashed because they had food stuck to them. The coffee pot had a filter in it that had not been thrown out for weeks based on the amount of mold growth. The garage door opener was broken (my husband fixed it) the toilet in the downstairs bathroom wouldn’t flush unless you held the handle down ( my husband fixed this) the dryer in the garage also did not dry our clothes at all which made me wonder how they were cleaning the bedding. The vanity in the downstairs bathroom had a door that would not close. I sent a message to the realtor, Cindy, and the only thing she addressed was the vanity door which was really the least of our issues and sent a man out to check it out. He couldn’t fix it. There were no apologies for the state of the condo or any of our concerns. She actually didn’t respond at all when I sent her the message about the coffee pot. I wish I could post pictures. I ended up booking this property based on the reviews and figured the one bad review was just a picky person. That is not the case. Dated I can handle but it was dirty. The sad thing is with a little bit of effort and very little money they could make this place great but they are making money without putting in any effort and it seems, based on zero comment from the property manager, that they don’t care to change that.

Croatan beach and lake

An older yet comfortable property, plenty of space for 5 adults and an infant. Large deck lakeside. All the comforts and conveniences of home; no curb appeal but very liveable. Reasonable walk to the beach. Quiet, except when Oceana pilots are on flight exercise. All of us enjoyed the stay from grandpa to infant.

great beach vacation

Had an excellent family beach vacation here. Short walk to a beautiful beach. House was spacious and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, beautiful views overlooking the lake. No dog smells! If you want luxury pampering look elsewhere, if you want a great beach vacation this is the spot.

Great location

The house is located away from the main area of Virginia Beach and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. The house has has scenic back yard because it's right on the lake and is a few blocks from the beach which was nice easy walk everyday. We rented bikes and had fun riding them in the neighborhood (it's nice and flat). The house was adequate for the 6 of us.

Not what I was expecting

I knew it was not the most up to date property when I booked this but I was not expecting it to be dirty and smelly. It was dark, dingy looked like the furniture was from a second hand store. The place smelled like wet dog and urine. I gagged when I went into one of the rooms when the bedspread was covered in dog hair and dog snot, crust (?) or I don't know what it was. So gross. Watched a snake slither into the gutter. Not much landscaping happening either. I'm surprised no one complains because the other properties in the area seemed very well kept.
