Fantastic Thanksgiving!

We were able to be with our family for the holiday and still have a lovely place to relax! The house is beautiful and has a wonderful kitchen as well. We’ll keep this on our favorites list!

Two families in town for a wedding

This was a great location, only a few minutes away from a wedding my family and I attended. We had two families in the house. It was clean for an older home. Well stocked kitchen. Big refrigerator. Plenty of room. The house was quiet in spite of so many people and kids.

Hunters Paradise and Nature Lover's Retreat

Wow! This was everything we were hoping it would be. Five large bedrooms on two floors, lots of space to gather and lots of space to be alone. You do have to share three bathrooms, but you are family, right? Great space for family reunions, parties, holiday gatherings. Owner/manager is very responsive to needs.

Hidden Gem

We stayed here for the UGA graduation events and had a great time. Owner was very accommodating as we had to change dates due to schedule changes, and all worked in our favor. House had so much space it was nice to spread out and relax after all hoopla with the grad events. We didn't get to explore the property, but that is why we will go back. Perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

UGA Graduation Weekend

We were celebrating our son's graduation from UGA and wanted a place to stay where we could enjoy family and some close friends. This home was exceptional for that purpose. The multiple porches and seating areas provided ample room for us to gather and mingle about. The house is very well furnished and has a well stocked kitchen. Everything was clean and cared for. The distance from Athens was perfect... just close enough to make quick trips as needed and far enough away that the setting is very quiet and private. The host was quick to reply to any questions we had. We truly enjoyed our stay here.

Cool, Unique Southern Experience

It's like taking a step back in time to be here. Fun location, lots of exploration to be done. We enjoyed the outdoor firepit, game room downstairs, plenty of room for our large group to eat together and play games. Spent time hiking around the property and following the stream. Great place for star gazing. We only had one issue with some doors not closing and the owner responded immediately and had them fixed that day. Would stay again. *Note on the driveway: it's a gravel driveway that's well kept but a low riding car (sports car, etc. will not be a good car to bring).

This is our second time staying here, everything is as expected per the pictures. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is because the water pressure is very low, and we came from some ATV riding where we wanted to get clean and it took a while with the lower pressure. Outside of that, great house and hosts!

Fabulous house for family Thanksgiving.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this property. We rented last minute, so our family could spend Thanksgiving together. Plenty of room, well appointed kitchen, a yoga porch, a game room, and lovely babbling brooks made this the perfect place. Jamaica was prompt, accommodating, and kind. We will be back!

Nice house with fun game room

There was a game room in the basement, so that was fun for us to wind down. The home was beautiful as well. We didn't get to experience the outside of the home, as we were out riding ATVs from morning until evening, but it was very secluded and private. The only exception is there is someone who lives in an RV by the house who maintains the property (from what I gather), thought we did not see him anytime we were coming or going.

idyllic remote getaway

Beautiful, well-maintained property with lots of space. Jamaica was an excellent host. She knew we were arriving late and had the lights on and door unlocked when we arrived. Quick to respond to any questions. We will definitely be back!

Great place to relax

It's a large property with a multistory old south style house that isn't really old, it was just designed with that architecture. It has all the modern conveniences and everything works, but staying there is like going back in time and entering another world. We spent a week while visiting with family who live about 20 minutes away, and thoroughly enjoyed returning to the house to chill out and "decompress" from all the visiting.

Fantastic holiday with family

Really great property to bring family to. Plenty of beds. Kitchen is the best stocked I've ever stayed at. Outside you can hike around in the woods or play ball in the massive front yard. Property owners are extremely courteous and helpful. The three different porches are all fun. The interior is cleaner and more bug free than most places we've ever stayed in Georgia. All appliances worked great. Well stocked bathrooms that had tons of towels and already well stocked laundry and garbage which is highly appreciated when you have a lot of people. Would recommend to others and stay again if we have a future reason to gather in Georgia. This was in the very top of places we've rented before.

Serene country home perfect for a family gathering or a work retreat

This old farm house is the perfect retreat to rejuvenate, have some focused time to work on a project, or gather family together for a reunion. We used the house as a retreat to finish writing a book. It was the perfect place. The description doesn’t include all of the amenities, such as a large screened in yoga porch as well as a basement game room with pool table, dart board, and large screen TV. The property has tons of acreage and there is a lovely walk through the woods. The gravel and dirt driveway leads to a stately home with a large front yard. We saw deer gathering on the green every evening. The kitchen is very well equipped, appliances are new, dining areas include a cozy table on a screened in porch. Jamaica and Milton were immediately available to answer any of our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

3 Night UGA Football Weekend

The property was awesome. Very clean and spacious. Stayed with a large group, and given what it would have cost to stay much closer to Athens it was a great value. Owner was in constant communication with us to see how our stay was going and having someone near the property in case of any issues arising was very convenient. We had some friends show up after we had already left for Athens and having that local person there, he was able to let our friends in. Overall it was a great experience. Would highly recommend this property.
