Great getaway on Ambergris Caye

Nice modern two bed, two bath condo in a quiet area of Ambergris Caye. Good size living room, full kitchen & large balcony viewing the beach and waterfront.

We Enjoyed San Pedro

The condo was sufficient to sleep in. Some things would be greatly appreciated like tp holders, towel holders, salt, pepper, cooking oil and a blanket for the beds. We were really, really cold during the rainy nights.

Best place to stay in san pedro!

The place was wonderful, great location and a gorgeous scenery both towards the sea and the mangroves across the street, there was not a single hassle with the checkin and checkout process, we just simply got the password to retrieve the key from the lockbox, and left it there when we left. The complex was really clean and well equipped, the concierge was really helpful when providing instructions and assistance. We will be back for sure!

Quiet and comfortable

Grounds were very well maintained. Nice pool and palapa. Interior of condo was ok. The place was sanitary but not quite clean...fine for a beach house though. Installing some hooks a toilet paper holder and a shelf or two, especially in the bathrooms would be a very simple improvement. Hand/dish towels in the kitchen would have been appreciated. The sliding patio doors were very janky and did not seem secure although we did feel safe at this location.

Great location, clean and quiet!

Nice property and location. It had everything we needed. Suggest hooks for towels and wet bathing suits etc...as well as holder for shampoo and soap in back bathroom. Mattresses could be a little better as well. Regardless, we will be back :-)

Location, location, location

We enjoy being north of the bridge when visiting Ambergris Caye and this place is about half way between town and snorkeling spots on the north shore. This is a quiet building with easy access to the beach. The unit was a comfortable size with great views of sunrises and sunsets. The kitchen was adequately stocked with utensils and dishware. Good restaurants are nearby if you don't want to cook. New family owned vegetable stand nearby also added to the convenience of this location.

Great place to recharge

Really liked that it wasn't in town. A 20 minute golf cart ride was just fine. Place was nice and comfortable and we loved the grounds. Wifi was spotty at first but we talked to the caretaker and he fixed it no problem. The only issue we had it that our unit needs more towels, beach towels, glassware and pots/pans. Loved the view and the deck was excellent. Great place to relax. Plenty of restaurants within a 10 minute drive (and some within walking distance). Loved the Tipsy Lobster and D'local Taste.

There was no host so no one to rectify any problems we had. Tried emails to the concierge with no reply, before our arrival and before. The place was filthy. The burners on the range did not all work properly. no water pressure. strong sewer smell in the condo. Mold on the shower ceiling. And the rock work on the other shower floor is coming loose because the grout never dries, and never been sealed. sliding doors and screen don’t slide well. lack of utensils, no glasses, poor quality kitchen ware, shower temp adjustment on both showers n/w, one too hot the other too cold. Shower in the back bedroom the glass door is loose and the shower nozzle coming out of the wall is very loose. Ceiling fan in living room is very dirty and the blades are expanded because of the humidity in the room. Not enough garbage containers for the property, over flowing and the racoons get into it. A racoon defecated on the steps and the cleaning lady walked by it and never cleaned it up for days. It’s still there. When we first turned on the water at each faucet, dark brown rusty water came out, luckily it cleared up. Lots of broken furniture or furniture in very poor condition. Vases or tables broken or rusty. Holes in the tile floor. Damage on the walls inside and out. This was probably a very nice villa when it was new, but since then very little repair or maintenance has been done. Dirty stinky beach. You wouldn’t dare enter the gross water with all the sargassum. Yuck.

Beautiful place in much need of repairs

The location of this property once you arrive is beautiful with the balcony facing the ocean. Unfortunately, the bathtub had a huge hole in it and evident of several attempted patches. The sink in the other bathroom leaked as did the window. The AC was lackluster and never reached anything less than 75 degrees.

The unit was not maintained very well.

The unit was not maintained very well. Most metal items had rust on them (Lamps/fridge/ tables etc) There were no door stops in place so when doors were opened door knobs punched holes in the drywall. Ceiling above shower in bathroom had a hole in it. There was dust on top of refrigerator & other areas Nothing that made the place unlivable but just not very well maintained

Good if you're trying to chill

First things first, this property is on the far north side of the island. It takes 30 minutes each way to get to town, and the roads are filled with potholes. The check in process was difficult because they need step by step instructions on how to open the box. Some of the walls were dirty, the floors needed to be swept and mopped, several pieces of the cabinets were in need of repair. The kicker is the day we checked out we were up at 7 to leave by 8, and realized they cut off but the electricity and water in an attempt to get us out on time. Very unprofessional. The concierge was only half way responsive to our questions. Overall i give it a 3.5 out of 5 mainly due to cleanliness and repairs needed. Oh, and forget about using the washer and dryer. They don't work either. If you're looking for a quiet property that's mostly nice then stay here, but if you want to be near the action of downtown, choose somewhere else.

Unfortunate situation turned worse by VRBO customer service

During my stay, the air conditioning in the front master bedrooms AC went out. Tried getting the room cooled by opening then front sliding door and by turning the AC on in the living room as an alternate figuring that one way or another we could get the room cool. Nothing worked. Host became non-responsive in the evening and did not send out anyone the day it was reported. No AC was running upon arrival and the whole apartment was hot. Host apologized and sent maintenance and AC repair people the next day but could not get it fixed. They did bring a fan that I made a request for which helped, When reaching out to VRBO customer service on the initial day, the representative acted as if I had spoke to him prior to my call and had a poor attitude. When asking to speak to a supervisor he said he could request a call back in the next 24 hours or we could start the conversation over. He then said after reviewing the photos I provided that we would have to change to a hotel at 11:30 at night and transferred me to what was supposedly the emergency booking service but no one answered and I got disconnected. The location is great for privacy and had the AC worked the stay would have been great. I appreciate the property groups attempt to make right by crediting me $24.90 but honestly an uncomfortable night of tossing and turning due to feeling, hot, sweaty, and gross isn’t worth it.

Staying on Ambergris Caye

The property was exactly as advertised and very comfortable. The best part of the experience was Ana the online concierge. She was so helpful with answering every question I had very promptly from the time we arrived at the airport. She arranged our snorkeling tours and suggested restaurants and all at no charge to us. The most disappointing part was the Caye itself and the area around the condo. The latter was a mosquito infested swamp. We were unable to snorkel from the pier or even swim because of the sea grass. Activities were very limited since we do not enjoy hanging out at bars all day. I would not go back.

Beautiful

We loved our time on the island, and this condo was clean, comfortable, and had a gorgeous view. We were so enamored, we began thinking about when we could return and how long we could stay next time. Some details: Pros: The view. It’s just paradise, sand and palm trees and the turquoise water as far as the eye can see. The pool: comfortable temperature, just a couple feet in front of the building, right on the beach, lovely. The dock and gazebo on the end of the dock: so charming and pretty, lit at night. There are kayaks available, and the water in front of the condo was calm and shallow. Plenty of parking for our golf cart. The apartment was clean and well furnished. They provided bedding, towels, soap, detergent, washer/dryer right in the condo, pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, utensils, and a 5 gallon container of drinking water. We cooked for ourselves several times during our stay. We had several tv channels and internet access (although the internet was a little spotty at times). The AC worked very well and was very appreciated at certain times of the day. We absolutely loved sitting on the balcony, reading books, eating lunch, looking out at the water, and watching frigatebirds, kiskadees, pelicans, flycatchers, and more - so many beautiful birds! We had plenty of space (2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a kitchen/open living area) - more than enough for the two of us staying here. It was quiet, felt very safe, and the other occupants of the 12 unit building were friendly and pleasant. Cons: We didn’t mind this, but you might want to be aware that getting in and out of town takes a while - about a half hour by golf cart, along a very bumpy road. We were also a bit surprised at the amount of litter on the island, including in the lot bordering our building to the north. The beach in front of the condo is raked and cleaned daily, so our spot was lovely. But just be aware that the island is not pristine. And finally, if you were hoping to swim in the ocean in front of the condo, you might want to reconsider - there’s quite a lot of sargassum and sea grass. We really enjoyed snorkeling out at Hol Chan and Mexico rocks, but didn’t swim in the ocean in front of our condo.

A quite slice of Beauty

Property was very nice. Our unit has definitely been remodeled. We were very happy with the unit. The balcony was perfect! Great views. Quiet location away from the town. The unit could use more kitchen items (baking pans, glasses, cooking pans). A grill for use by all would make this ideal. There are a couple there, but they are for certain units. You can ask to use. Loved the beach/pier/pool. Internet is glitchy at times so just ask them to reset it. Once that was done it worked fine. Would definitely stay here again.
