Dirty Condo

I had to wash a bed spread as soon as we got there because it looked like it had chocolate ice cream on it, which makes me wonder if the rest of the bedding was even clean. The oven mits had dried food on them, so I had to wash them too. We found a gum wrapper on the floor, which makes me wonder if they floors were even cleaned. Several dishes were dirty with mold and food stuck on them. I messaged customer service immediately and was given the generic response of thanks for letting us know, we will pass this information on. Then, I got a text message asking me to rate the condo, and I put a 3, and I haven't heard anything since. While we were there, I was contacted about fixing the ice maker and was told that someone would schedule a time. Then, my daughter and her friend were in the condo when the maintenance worker just randomly showed up to look at it. We had to buy ice all week on top of the cleaning supplies I bought. One of the shower knobs was torn up, but there was a wine cork in the shower that we found out we could use the turn the shower on. The view is beautiful from the condo though, and the condo is right by the stairs, which made it very convenient to get to the beach. With proper management, this would be a great place to vacation.

Great for a family vacation!

The beds were pretty comfortable, the balcony was nice and spacious, the master bathroom was nicely remodeled, and overall the condo was great! As of July 2025, there were a few minor maintenance issues that I'm sure will be fixed soon. The shower faucet in the secondary bathroom shower was broken and a wine cork was being used as a replacement knob, the dishwasher mount was broken from under the kitchen cabinet and it tipped forward every time you opened it, and the closet doors were broken in the second king bedroom. Our biggest inconvenience was that the icemaker didn't work, so we had to buy bags of ice all week. You will most likely want to bring a big cooler so you don't have to keep running to the store for ice! There were pros and cons of being on the second floor. It was great not having to wait on elevators! But there is a yard right under the balcony and there were families playing ballgames ALL WEEK from sunrise to dark and they were VERY loud. It made relaxing on the balcony a little difficult. There's really nothing that could be done about that, though. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and we would stay here again.

Perfect vacation

This is our third year using Vacasa to book our beach trip. This unit was freshly upgraded with really nice touches! There was construction going on but we were notified before going and since it was a holiday weekend, it was minimal noise. I can’t wait to go back next year :)

Great Unit but Avoid Booking During Construction

We were notified several months AFTER booking that there would be construction going on at the property. We decided not to cancel as this was the unit & bed configuration we needed. We regretted this as there was jackhammer noises going on, workers going up and down on a noisy construction elevator by our deck all day, limited parking, and unmarked wet paint that got on our clothes and hands. We asked for a discount on our next stay for all this inconvenience, but it was declined by the property manager, Vacasa. Having said that, if you can wait till next year when the construction is over, this is a really great unit. The deck is fantastic, it is almost like you are on the beach. It is big, freshly refinished, and equipped with a table and lounge chairs. It is away from the pool noise, so normally it would be very quiet. The unit itself is well stocked with everything for your stay. It has a fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils you need to cook family meals. The towels and linens are clean and plentiful. All appliances worked fine. There are even some books, DVDs and games in the cabinet under the TV. The unit furniture is a little worn, as you might expect from a beach condo, but that didn't bother us. It was clean and that's all that mattered. The only complaint I have about the unit itself is the bath and shower floors are slick and there are no safety grab rails installed. I would recommend this unit, just be sure you book after construction is complete

Solid Condo with room for improvement

The condo was spacious and well laid out. Location was excellent. It’s on the second floor and right next to stairs, so elevators were virtually unnecessary. Great views and a flight of stairs down and about 150 yards and you’re in the ocean. The condo was a little dated. It appears that the last updates were about 15 years ago. The worst thing about the condo is not the condo itself but the facility it is located in (Summer House) does not have a bar/grill on site where you can get food/drinks by the beach/pool. The closest one is the Holiday Inn about a half mile or so West down the beach. Overall, great stay and I would stay here again.

Nice at first glance

I called ahead to make sure pool, weight room and hot tub were all be open before I booked. The outside pool was the only one open. The inside pool, hot tub and weight room were locked an only a sign on the elevator stating they were closed for repairs for the whole time we were there (almost 2 weeks). I feel we should be compensated as that was why I was booking there and I confirmed before I booked or we wouldn’t have stayed. I talked to two other guests and they said they also called and we’re told they would be open with no issues. I reported the following issues and heard nothing the whole time we were there, other than it was reported. 1)The sliding doors were very hard to open/ close and neither have locks on them 2) there was water leaking from the ceiling above us by the washer 3) the tubs won’t drain properly and the on/off Handel comes off in Main bath 4) the front door wont latch unless you slam it and pull up on it several times. I didn’t report this but you really need some grippers in the tubs, I just about fell and I am healing from knee surgery, which is why I needed the pool hot tub and exercise room! I thought it was interesting that when I said I should be compensated we had total silence not even your email apologizing that you were overwhelmed with responses! Which speaks volumes to renters in the church group that go to orange beach each year for two weeks!

Happy Week

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The 2nd floor view was just right for us. Just a few upgrades (new stove, maybe some new mattress in the guest rooms (Not the Master) would have made it five star. But, all in all it was conveniently located, parking was good and the grounds were well kept. We enjoyed it and would book again.

Beach was beautiful but…

The outside of this building was very run down and dirty. Holes on the outside of many unit’s doors and filthy stairways. Our unit had several dirty areas where I could remove the dirt such as the showerhead, kitchen sink and shower doors. No one wanted to use either bath tub.

Nice roomy condo, just needs updated furniture.

We have been vacationing in Orange Beach for over 30 years. Once again, we really enjoyed our time at the beach. This was out first time staying at Summer House. While I understand that the building suffered damages from a hurricane last year, I found that it was old and out dated. There was never a security guard at the entrance and not once did we see one on the property the entire week we were there. The condo was clean and roomy, however the living room furniture is stained and worn. The mattress in the master bedroom is extremely hard (but that may be how the owners like it) and the comforter is very faded and worn. The kitchen is well equipped. The balcony is nice and roomy, however the furniture is rusted and very worn as well.

Overall decent

The property was clean and close to the beach, which were most important to us. The biggest issues we had were that the gym and indoor pool were closed due to prior year storms but that information was not shared in the listing and only after our refund period was up. Indoor pool and gym are key amenities that people seek out. Last but not least, there was no chain or slide lock on the front door, which I find to be a pretty serious issue and is also an easy and inexpensive fix.

Great place!

The view was amazing, in the pics the beach looks farther away but your actually a stones throw away. The actual furniture was alil dated coffee table glass had been broken before we got there, the metal piece was pushed over to the side. Patio rug was pretty dirty probably time to change it out. Those are small things. Overall this place was clean, they have plenty of dishes, extra blankets and lil starter pacs of dishwashing liquid and laundry soap. We had plenty of room for the 6of us. This was a very nice stay and enjoyed every bit of it!

Summer Getaway

This condo is in a great location for a fun family summer getaway. Awesome view of the gulf...close to family attractions...all you need in a home for cooking in ...or close to some great restaurants if you want to eat out Would definitely come to this location again!

Great location- Great Vacation!!

Loved the second floor location, it was perfect for watching Grandchildren go to beach. The condo was roomy and the kitchen big enough to really cook a meal. We did have a small issue with water in bsthroom from condo above but a call brought out someone to take of it really fast. I would love to rent this unit and the one next door next year to have all of my family there at one time.
