Beautiful and Peaceful stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this property. Everything needed was provided, however, there was only two beach chairs for such a large house. Definitely could use some more chairs or loungers around the pool. The concierge service was spectacular, Tony led us in the right direction every step of the way. And answered all our questions. I would recommend using him for any excursion you plan. Other than that, the place was fantastic, and we would definitely return to this property again.

Outstanding experience

Our family of six adults, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was great and well situated on the beach and near restaurants and a grocery store. Our contact from Krain, Tony, was super responsive and helpful in suggesting and arranging activities for our vacation. Could not recommend him any higher!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location of this home. We were a bit disappointed in the overall condition. It needs some TLC. The furniture is dirty, the refrigerator stopped working, the fan remotes did not work (presumably need new batteries), and the overall condition was very worn. Aside from that though, the house is in a great location on the beach and we did enjoy our stay.

Nice property

We enjoyed our stay, and thought the condo was nice. My complaint is that it is listed as a three bathroom condo, but one of the three bathroom's showers was non-functional. So the people in the bedrooms who were supposed to share that bathroom had to walk through the kitchen to a functional bathroom for showering. Not convenient. I texted the property manager ten minutes after checking in to relay this information, and the manager responded TWO DAYS LATER when we were checking out. They knew the bathroom was non-functional before we checked in. We stayed there in early July 2024.

Wonderful Home

We are a family of 6 with kids between 5 and 14 and we absolutely loved our stay at this house. The listing was very accurate and if you are thinking about booking this home you should. Sunset views are gorgeous and the ease of getting into vacation mode can’t be overstated at this property. The beach was amazing, the pool much bigger than any of the other ones we saw. You can take an easy walk to a few restaurants and some local shops, which was nice for us because we didn’t have a vehicle. Expect to pay vacation prices for food and most things in the area. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the necessities and certainly a bunch of nice to haves too. A ton of spices and seasonings were available. The provided beach towels and toys made it very convenient for us to enjoy the beach too. We did use the management company and they were very responsive, no issues at all there. And check-in and out were seamless. Just an FYI there was no shampoo or conditioner provided, not a big deal, just make sure you have your own, or buy $10 bottles at the local store. We are very glad we booked this home!

Overall this was an amazing property. I would recommend it. There were a few minor things that could be done to raise the rating for us. The dishwasher does not work. The coffee pot for the maker was broken but there is a one cup Kurig that was fine for our group. The shower in the guest bedroom area upstairs has very little water pressure and the handle to turn it on and off was broken. The washer worked, however, throw the soap in the drum as it doesn’t pull from the dispenser on top. Keep an eye on the water heater as it seems to leak, however they were quick to come fix it. The TV in the master bedroom does not work, if that matters to you. They could use new boogie boards and umbrellas for the beach just to add to the experience. The sunrises on our walks down the beach were beautiful. The sunsets even more amazing. The area of Potrero was welcoming and a quiet area which was exactly what our group needed and wanted. Our host Tony was so helpful and took amazing care of our group. He was the epitome of Pura Vida. Potrero, Costa Rica you have our hearts.

Could have been better

Let me start by saying that this is our second time in Costa Rica and staying at a Krain property. This property we found was better suited for our family because it was located near all the excursions we wanted to do and on the beach. Not to mention it’s close enough to beach bars and restaurants that you can walk to from the back door/beach. Now the property…. When we first arrived the impression was good. During our first night we found that the house may have been cleaned in a rush. Not sure if another family checked out that morning, but I found trash in the primary bathroom that looked like it had been swept but not picked up. There were 4 clean towels in total for 3 bathrooms, and 3 beach towels available for the pool. My husband finally found a pile of dirty towels on top of the washer. We just threw them all in the washer and we had plenty for the rest of the stay. Not sure if the housecleaner was unaware we were showing up or just ran out of time. We also could not get the safe in the closet to work. It wasn’t a big deal for us, but could be for others who may want their valuables safe. Overall it was a nice house with plenty of room for our family of 6. Lastly, our house manager/concierge Tony. We met him during our previous stay and was nothing but great. He helped us book our excursions and gave great recommendations for restaurants. He checked on us and tried resolving some of the above concerns. Overall we recommend the property and we would come back.

Casa con piscina frente al mar. Lugar perfecto para viajar con niños ya que puede pasar del mar a la piscina en pocos metros. Las habitaciones están subiendo o bajando gradas lo que podría dificultar el acceso a adultos mayores o con discapacidad . Excelente lugar para vacacionar

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I’ve just received an email asking for me to post a review of our house. Welcome your input but thinking something like....Good layout and setting for family, especially open concept main room to pool and beach. But house needs major updates as many, many things were broken and never fixed during our stay: BBQ never worked (and in fact was a serious hazard with a leaking propane hose), broken dishwasher, upstairs TV nonfunctional, wifi only works in living room (no where else in house - none of the bedrooms or anywhere upstairs, not even on outside balcony), extremely weak water pressure making it difficult to have more than one shower running at a time, batteries dead in several remotes (including for ceiling fans and garage door), lockbox is broken so anyone can get into the house, garbage disposal clogged regularly so had to be plunged at least once a day, pool lights don’t work, etc. We had daily messages to Krain about these issues - the company was non-responsive or very slow to respond (eg, it took two days for us to get toilet paper). The house has potential but in the current condition is extremely overpriced for what you get and we would not/not recommend to our friends and family.

Great location!

We enjoyed our stay here, the location can’t be beat! Unlocking the front gate was a little challenging but we had no other issues with accessing the house. Pros: Very comfortable beds, clean house, responsive management, excellent location (walking distance to shops and restaurants and grocery store), beach access from backyard, pool/ beach toys provided Cons: Internet in the primary bedroom was non existent, I wish the kitchen would have had a coffee grinder, more glassware and more food storage containers, I also wish the management would have let us know that at some point pool and lawn care people would be coming to the house because we were surprised and initially a little unnerved when they let themselves into the yard until we realized who they were. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to playa protrero.

Fantastic home and location...right on the beach

Luxurious home with a million dollar view of the ocean. When we weren't at the beach, we were in the pool looking out at the ocean! Master suite on the top floor is huge and has it's own private balcony. Numerous restaurants nearby and a great location to chill. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Peaceful & relaxing vacation

We ended our week long trip with a stay at Casa Las Sandalias. It was quiet and relaxing. The home is beautiful and being so close to the ocean was great. Restaurants, a pharmacy and grocery stores all within walking distance. Management was easy to communicate with, always quick to answer any of my questions. We loved our stay!

Perfect for the WHOLE family!

Loved this place, we had a toddler, teenagers and grandparents all along for this trip. The pool was perfect for our toddler as he could stay on the first two steps and play all day. The patio was so pleasant with the fan going and shade. I will warn the sand is dark sand so in the heat of the day you need shoes/sandals, but in the evening it was great to build sand castles and play in. There were plenty of sand toys and beach toys at the house. They have beach chairs and umbrellas too...maybe to help you not pack as much :-) beds were comfy, ac worked great and the kitchen has everything you need. Also the extra locks made us feel very safe. I highly recommend this house!

Reviewer Comments: Todo es hermoso nos hospedamos durante 4 días toda mi familia, todos fueron muy atentos, la casa es tal como las fotos todo muy ordenado algunas cosas necesitan un poco de mantenimiento como las ventanas corredizas, por lo demás todo excelente, Tony fue muy amable y nos ayudó con un tour de Jetski súper lindo, lo recomiendo al 100%. El único inconveniente es que para llegar a las habitaciones hay que subir o bajar gradas lo que en caso de tener adultos mayores o personas con discapacidad sería un problema. La casa está equipada con todo lo necesario para pasar unas buenas vacaciones.

Great location!

Lovely location, very clean, great distribution in the kitchen and social area. Nicely renewed property. Manager very efficient in answering our questions and requests. Ask how to operate dishwasher becase it was not obvious for us.
