PB Family Getaway

This house was ideal for our family of six (4 adults and 2 children). The location is ideal - a great jumping off point and easy to get to the bay, the beach, and close to the main strip in PB. We took advantage of all of the amenities - garage, laundry, TV, games, and of course the hot tub! - and really enjoyed our three night stay. Communication from Avant was clear and easy. The only negatives - while the property was clean (and the cleaning crew showed up promptly as we were checking out!) it felt a bit “lived in”. Furniture and was not in great shape and some show wear and tear and staining. Guest bed was very creaky and slanted. Some doors and kitchen cabinets also not totally functional and need a detailing. None of this is visible in the photos, so it would be nice for Avant to make some repairs for future guests. That being said we had a great time and thought it was a good value for the location.

SeaWorld here we come

I went to this home for my children and grandchildren and myself to spend a couple nice days in the beautiful San Diego area. The home was very nice. Had a bit of a problem with getting our welcome package to get into the home, but it was resolved promptly and they have a very leaky fridge. They were notified and stated that they would take care of it. It’s a hazard with children because it’s a tile floor and kids fall as did a couple of my grandchildren, so we kept a towel on the floor but all in all definitely would stay there again and highly recommend it was wonderful right on a corner

Cute property close to the beach and bay

We had a girls weekend here and so glad we found this property. It was right down the street from the bay and a 5 min drive to the beach. We could have walked but we decided not to. The house was really cute and the backyard was relaxing as well.

Nice quiet neighborhood close to beach

The house was immaculate. Lots of space for everyone. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit, thought the fire pit is small- so more for the vibe than actual heat. We liked the quiet neighborhood and were still able to walk along the bay to Mission Beach and also easy access to PB. We would stay again.

Great place to stay!

Our stay at this house was great! We stayed for 5 weeks and really enjoyed it. It was a lot bigger than we expected and had all kinds of amenities for our kids, even a baby gate for the stairs! The backyard was also great and offered a lot. It was only two blocks from mission bay making its location amazing for us. Unfortunately, it is on the corner of a busy street but you can’t have it all haha. Avantstay was amazing to deal with. We had a couple things pop up during our stay including locking ourselves out of the house, but their responses were very quick and helpful. We would recommend staying here and we hopefully will stay at this location again!

August at the Bay

Beautifully remodeled house with plenty of room. There’s ample space for a family. Quiet neighborhood. The house has all of the amenities, and we cooked several meals in the well-appointed kitchen and also on the grill. My family particularly liked the hot tub after a day at the beach. Our only concern was that the house is a bit of a hike to the ocean at Pacific Beach, but it is close to the bay and other activities.

Stay at Avant

Overall it was a great space for a large group. There were some faulty appliances like toilet paper holders being loose and one of the garage door clickers not working, but overall I’d recommend to anyone looking for a great spot in Pacific Beach.

We brought our two kids to PB. This property was well-located to walk to parks, beach, grocery store and a short drive to almost everything else.

Perfect for families

We came for a family reunion from Hawaii, Oregon & California. It was great to have room to all be together. The size of the couch, the dining room table the outside table were perfect. Had all the amenities & a large kitchen. I would definitely recommend.

Saint Diego or A Drunken Evening in the West

The monotany of modern travel wears on you until you leave an airport glazed in a sullen malaise. Such was the state I found myself in riding the downward escalator of the arrivals terminal. My companions and I stood silently, pulled toward the teethed steel grates. As you reach the bottom and walk toward the sliding doors, a current of warm humid air is there to great you. That and your ride, hailed from the cell phone waiting lot. It was upon this backdrop I made my way to the rental. Its white walls cast against the dark cloudless sky. The upstairs window set forth a light; a marker of the prearrivals. A homely sight. A lighthouse come to vantage for weary sailors, voices made horse by the repetion of some seatime shanty. The front door made way to the living room. A welcoming and warm room made warmer by the greeting of those came before. The television is mounted upon grey stone slab. Smooth. Like some great monolith left to be wondered before the time of man. The sound on the tv doesn’t really work real good though. It keeps, like, mismatching the sound with the picture. Like, do you remember those awfully dubbed kung fu movies? Or Kung Pow: Enter the fist? Or MXC? Like that but not as funny. The backyard is secluded. It is your own. A boiling sun warms the rubber beneath the artifical grass and so the sand of the beach falls from the soles of your feet. The cornhole boards are of good quality. A slick white plastic reflecting the light of the moon, laying claim to our night and so many others. The hot tub boils you to the precipice of hysteria, setting forth vapor into the night. Rising pale against the dark night, dancing in the passing currents, only to disappear into the void out beyond man’s knowing. A firepit flickers and plays host to those gathered around her sharing stories of time since past. The city is loathe to shake its heritage and nor should it. Taquerias dot the streets leading toward the bay. Cheap and filling. May their fare come to pass for all the world. It is not, however, a good sports town. Michigan and University of Southern California flags hang from like windows. There is a patriots bar downtown. That would never fly in Philly. Perhaps that is why the Chargers left and why they are widely regarded to be a cursed franchise. A sunset is a must during your time here. Along the short walk to the beach, the passing cars kick aside gravel and the finer sand. Up ahead, a curve in the road sets forth another pair of

Amazing family accommodations

This is, by far, one of the best homes we have stayed at! It was extremely clean, in an excellent location, and stocked with all the kitchen appliances/accessories you could need. The outdoor area was so inviting and provided a wonderful space for the children and adults. We will definitely stay here again when we visit this area.

Expectations Met

Really enjoyed the stay, especially the outdoor space. Although the yard is minimal, compared to most places in the area its enormous. Great to have all household amenities available when you are travelling with small children.

Great location and beautiful house

House is in a great location. Quick walk to the beach. Has a bunch of beach supplies so you don't have to bring too much. We had 2 babies and a toddler and they loved it. Crib and highchair was provided. They could have done a better job cleaning the floors. Looked like they just swept the floors and didn't mop because the first night we arrived we were barefoot in the house and the bottom of our feet were pretty dirty and our two babies crawling around on the floor were pretty dirty. Also use the text option to contact them. I found contacting them via VRBO app either took a much longer time for a response or didn't respond at all. Overall place was awesome and would definitely recommend!

Modern, spacious near bay

This is a beautiful, modern house. The kitchen has brand name pots, pans, cooking spoons etc. The key pad entry means you never have a key to lose. Lots of extras here with toilet paper, shower soaps, dishwasher pods, trash bags. Plenty of towels for showers and jacuzzi. Great location just blocks to bay.

Perfect location for a beach vacation with young children

Appreciated the child gate at the top of the stairs, kept our toddlers safe. Backyard was fantastic for socializing in the perfect weather. Easy walk to a low-key beach with still water for young children.

Simple and straightforward

Our family loves the San Diego area. This property was in a good location and had a good amount of space. We enjoyed the extras like the hot tub and the outdoor toys. The only critique we had was that the place could use some more basics like blankets, a colander, some Tupperware, etc. Communication with property manager was great. (When we asked for a cooler, they brought one over within the hour.)
