Nestled on a quiet cul-de-sac along Mobile Bay, Meme's is the perfect retreat for discerning guests who want to enjoy the beauty of sunrises and sunsets on the water. This waterfront home has two large bedrooms and two newly renovated baths, a well appointed kitchen and plenty of comfy spaces from which you can enjoy the water and the wildlife. Guests often report seeing dolphins playing in the water in front of the covered dock. Pelicans, seagulls, osprey, eagles, and herons abound. This home is also dog friendly and has a fully fenced back yard.

Relax on one of the two screened porches where you'll find rockers, swings, and tables for outdoor dining. Or hangout on the back patio while cooking up a feast on the charcoal grill. While there is not easy access to the water, fishing is good from the seawall and dock plus the home is only about a mile from the white sand Gulf beaches of the Bon Secour National Wildlife Preserve.

The trip to the center of Gulf Shores takes less than 10 minutes. There you will find grocery stores, restaurants and other attractions. Several good restaurants can also be found a few miles West at Jesse's on the Bay or at the Beach Club. Or pickup some local seafood from nearby shops and prepare your own feast in the fully stocked kitchen.

Spend your days exploring the nearby attractions, such as the stunning Ft Morgan beaches, historic Fort Morgan, the Bon Secour National Wildlife Preserve, and the lush Gulf State Park, all within a short drive. When you return catch up on your favorite shows on the smart TV. For a bit of entertainment, dive into the selection of games, books, and DVDs available or sign in to your favorite streaming service.

When it's time to retire for the night, you'll find comfortable accommodations with a king sized bed in the primary bedroom, two twins in the second bedroom and a sleeper sofa. With two new full baths, air conditioning, two screened porches with water views you will have all the essential amenities you need.

I've stayed at this property before and I love it! It's exceptionally clean and the area is quiet. Being away from the noise and chaos of Gulf Shores is very nice, but it's easy to drive in to the restaurants in town.The owners are very nice and respond quickly to text messages.

It was just like the pictures, when u pull in to the driveway and see the water it’s like all problems in that moment disappears, definitely bring bug spray guess because of the trees a lot of mosquitoes, but well worth it..lol can’t go wrong with this place..

This is our second time staying at this property and it was just as lovely as the first time!! Great location to downtown Gulf Shores but far enough away to be peaceful. The property is well maintained and clean. Martha, the owner, was extremely easy to work with and prompt with communication. Highly recommend!!

The pictures of this beautiful home is what attracted me to bring my wife to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary; however, the experience of what we had and the location is what will bring us back! Our host was so nice and the home on the bay was so clean and beautiful. Downtown life with restaurants and entertainment is only a 20 minute drive. The location was peaceful and relaxing! We even got in some fishing, reading, cooked out on the grill and took in a movie. A wonderful anniversary! I will definitely book this again!

We really enjoyed our stay. House was great and perfect for our needs. Sunset was amazing from the dock or porch. Fishing from the dock was fun. The house was in a very quiet area away from the crowds. Neighbors were friendly. Just a short drive to Gulf Shores or Fort Morgan public beaches (we went to both). It was also a very short drive for groceries or a plethora of restaurants. Our dog loved the yard and the wildlife. Screened porch was amazing when the mosquitos became a nuisance (really only 2 evenings for us). The view was great from the living room as well. Very relaxing much needed vacation. Thanks for hosting our family.

beauty and relaxing

This is a great location with good distance to all activities if you want to have a quiet spot to relax. It was very good for our dog to have space and easy with the fenced in yard. We so enjoyed the covered dock to watch the sunset. The view is your big reward in staying here.

Wonderful stay on the Bay

Thank you for sharing this Bay front cottage with us. We enjoyed the location, and the spacious living quarters offered by Meme's Cottage including the bay side screened porch and living room/dining room layout. Very clean and well-kept. Nice kitchen and baths. Close to beaches. GREAT PLACE!

This home exceeded expectations. The house was lovely and well equipped with kitchenware, games, reading material, and a very comfortable King bed. Most notably, the front fenced in yard was perfect for sunny outdoor breakfasts. The large waterside yard was perfect for sunsets and a bonfire. We hope to return soon!

Lovely Cottage!

Such a great place in a perfect location, right on the water! Everything was as described. Cottage is on a quiet street, but within a reasonable distance to stores, restaurants and golf courses. Martha, our host, was great! Check in was easy and very responsive to any questions or issues. Cottage was clean and so comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

My daughter and I have owned this cottage together since 2010. I am a long time resident of Gulf Shores and live close by. After teaching in public high school for 30 years I retired and later became a licensed Realtor. I list and sell property in the area and manage several vacation rentals for myself and others. My daughter who grew up here is a military pilot who does not get to visit too often but does love to spend what time she can at her grandmother's former home.

This was my mother's home. She always wanted to live on the water and at age 78 designed and built this cottage where she spent the last 5 years of her life. She loved the quiet surroundings and the tiny lane of friendly neighbors. But most of all, she loved the oaks laden with moss and the constantly changing view of from her front porch.

This property is unique in its location. While it is out of the way of the crowds it is still close to everything. The quiet lane is very private, great for guests looking for a relaxing vacation. In contrast to the beachfront condos this place will feel like home!
