Casa del capitán; Apartamento de 2 habitaciones, espacioso, limpio, céntrico

Captain’s House está situado en el segundo y tercer piso de un edificio histórico (Patrimonio Nacional) de 1652.

La ubicación del apartamento está justo en el corazón de la ciudad vieja, en una calle residencial y peatonal que hace que sea fácil llegar y una base perfecta para explorar la ciudad a pie, en bicicleta o en transporte público.

Creemos que unas vacaciones son mucho más cómodas en un ambiente limpio, por lo que hacemos un esfuerzo adicional para ofrecer un apartamento limpio y reluciente.

A la llegada y al dejar el equipaje se le subirá y bajará.
También a la llegada, te llevo en un recorrido por el vecindario para mostrarte los buenos lugares para comer y comprar.

El primer piso consiste en el dormitorio principal con una cama doble grande. Baño con ducha de lluvia y WC. También hay un baño separado adicional.
El segundo dormitorio es acogedor y con dos camas individuales que también se pueden hacer como una cama doble de matrimonio.

Hay muchas toallas, papel higiénico y gel de ducha orgánico, champú y acondicionador.

Desde el segundo dormitorio entras directamente a una terraza muy soleada y tranquila.

Todo el segundo piso consta de una amplia sala de estar con dos cómodos sofás y una cocina pequeña pero totalmente equipada.
También hay un reproductor de televisión, cd y dvd con una gran selección de series de dvd y películas.

La cocina está provista de aceites orgánicos, vinagre, hierbas y especias.
También hay un mostrador con café orgánico y tés.

Arjen is an amazing host with a beautiful home. The house is located in a quiet street less than 10 minutes away from Amsterdam Centraal Station. He greeted us upon arrival, showed us the house, and gave a tour of the surrounding neighborhood. During our stay he was readily available and answered any questions we had about the house or the surrounding city. The kitchen is stocked with dishware, cooking equipment, tea, and coffee supplies. The house also has an outdoor back patio as well as a washer/dryer. I would return here as well as recommend it to my friends and family.

A lovely stay in a heritage property built in the 1600s, but with brand new updates in the kitchen and bathrooms. So much charm and character. The decor and huge windows are beautiful. A real taste of old Amsterdam. The host, Arjen, showed us around the town. He is rightly proud of this beautiful spot in the centre of town. Thank you, Arjen - from your Canadian guests.

Arjen was a wonderful host, giving us a tour of the area with lots of tips for getting the most out of our trip. His home was well appointed, had everything we needed, and was spotless. Arjen lives adjacent to the rental property, so is readily available if necessary. We were within walking distance of the Rijksmuseum, the Rembrant house, The Lord in the Attic house, Van Gogh museum, and much more. We highly recommend this property!

We had a wonderful stay in Arjen’s beautiful Amsterdam home. The location was perfect, we could walk everywhere, including Amsterdam Centraal, the Red Light District and the Van Gogh Museum.Arjen met us personally and gave us a tour of both the house and the neighbourhood. He pointed out where to grab a few groceries quickly, where to find a larger grocery store and his favourite locally owned restaurants for all different types of food. His love for Amsterdam was obvious and made our introduction to the city feel especially welcoming.The house had everything we needed and truly felt like a home, not a rental stocked with only the bare minimum. The plants, fresh flowers and thoughtful touches throughout made it warm, comfortable and inviting. Arjen also checked in halfway through our stay to make sure we had everything we needed.Checkout was incredibly easy, with none of the long cleaning lists that often come with vacation rentals. Arjen simply asked us to enjoy our final morning and leave everything for him, which was such a refreshing and appreciated way to end our stay. We would happily stay here again!

Wonderful stay, very clean & comfortable. The beds were so comfortable not too firm or too soft. If you are a light sleeper you might want ear plugs - the front bedroom you can hear voices from people walking by. The street outside is walk only no cars.The area is the perfect location to Central Station and so many bars & restaurants. Easy to get anywhere in the city. We would definitely stay here again.When we arrived Arjen gave us a walking tour of the neighborhood and it was a highlight of our trip. He pointed out great local restaurants, and shops. We also learned about the history along the way.

Our stay in Amsterdam was very enjoyable and our host,Arjen, ensured it was stress free with handling our luggage up and down Dutch steep stairs. The flat was very comfortable with everything we needed and its central location was ideal. Arjen went beyond most hosts helping with my luggage right up to the train itself. A memorable stay.

The accommodation were exactly -or better- as described, and Arjen is an incredible host. The tour of the neighborhood and his check-ins and recommendations are the best I’ve experienced. The location is so convenient and beautiful. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone.

Authentic and Cozy

Such a lovely place - we highly recommend! We were delighted that our host, Arjen gave us a walking tour of the neighborhood so we knew our way around a bit and felt right at home. The apartment is very comfortable, with a full kitchen, cozy living area and a sweet little deck area out back. We loved our stay.

Everything was perfect during our 5 day stay.

The location was very convenient for walking or taking an Uber to locations throughout the city. Since there were three women in our group, having two bathrooms was a plus. We enjoyed being able to relax in the spacious living room each evening. The kitchen has everything anyone would need during their stay including coffee and tea. Arjen, our host, carried our bags up and down the stairs and during a tour of the area he introduced us to nearby restaurants which we visited each night.

Lovely Little Home on a Lovely Little Street

We enjoyed every minute of our stay; the little street and all of its charm, the close proximity to everything, Arjen, was an amazing host and a generally cool guy. He has put a lot of special touches and treats into the stay making it a cheerful experience. Would highly recommend.

Best Ever!

Our stay at The Captain's House was the best holiday apartment and stay/experience we have ever had. Arjen was the most supportive, helpful and friendly host we have ever met and nothing was too much trouble for him. We cannot recommend him and his lovely and unique house enough - the house was in a great location and central to everything and delightful to stay in. Thank you again Arjen for making our stay in Amsterdam something special!

A highlight of our trip was staying here and Arjen was a wonderful host. Amazing thinking about the people and history that has transpired over the 470 years this house has been here. A real feeling that you are somewhere special, and not just a place to spend the night. Perfect location for walking anywhere in the city, and is safe and quiet as well. Metro and trams also close by, so getting anywhere is easy. Two single beds in the 2nd room was perfect for our family. We loved the upstairs loft for eating and hanging out.

I have been a Vrbo user for over 20 years. Arjen who lives down stairs was the most kind and helpful host i have experienced among a lot of helpful hosts i have met. In this locatio you feel you are living in Amsterdam, but its very central. This was my third time in Amsterdam, so i have seen many angles.

LOVED the Captain’s House

Arjen and his Captain’s House were both AMAZING! Arjen was a FANTASTIC host!He carried all of our luggage in (& out!), gave us a walking tour that definitely helped familiarize us with the neighborhood, and he gave us several recommendations for places to eat….all of which were delicious!The Captain’s House was in a perfect location! Super central & convenient to everything! And staying in a place that was built in 1652 definitely added to the experience.Only complaint- we didn’t stay longer.I would absolutely recommend Arjen & his Captain’s House to anyone…..& when we come back to Amsterdam we will definitely stay here again!

Great location, wonderful host, and comfortable place!

The communication with the host Arjen before our arrival was great. We appreciate the tour he gave us upon arrival and the knowledge of neighborhood he shared. The location is very convenient, right next to the central station. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. There are long stairs to get to the guests apartment. But Arjen help us carry our luggage up and down. Even thought my son is a special needs child, the stairs didn’t cause any problem to us. We would come back to stay here again at our next visit to Amsterdam.

Perfect home base in Amsterdam!

Perfect home base in Amsterdam! 2BR, 2BA, well stocked kitchen to cook in if you want and loads of space (especially for Holland) to unwind after sightseeing. Walking distance to everything! Charming home. Excellent host-very communicative, greeted us with a little tour of the apartment and neighborhood which was super helpful. All around excellent. A couple of nights we did hear some people going home (loudly) late at night-it was not a huge issue and obviously is out of the host’s control, probably would happen anywhere in the city. Highly recommend and would stay again!

The perfect home base for our stay in Amsterdam

Arjen was such an amazing host. He was there to greet us, helped carry our bags upstairs and gave us a lovely walking tour around the neighborhood. The apartment was everything we needed and more. The kitchenette is well equipped, the beds are comfy, the 2nd bathroom was nice to have, as was the patio. The neighborhood was easy to learn, and I felt completely safe, even when I went out for a stroll on my own. We walked almost everywhere we went, and we went everywhere...Anne Frank House, Van Gogh, Moco, Rijksmuseum, ARTIS, Nemo, A'DAM Lookout, This is Holland, canal tours etc. And it is very close to Central Station and the ferry. I will definitely ĺook for this rental first when I return and would recommend it to anyone.
