River Charm on the Alafia River

Beautiful waterfront home on the Alafia River leading to Tampa Bay and Gulf of Mexico. You will have access entire first floor of the house and a beautiful dock and huge Sundek. Bring your Boat and fishing rods or skis. (Boat Docking and trailer parking on premises) Excellent Fishing and Wakeboarding. In minutes you can be in Tampa Bay, Williams park boat ramp is just a few minutes away. One bedroom with queen bed and living room with 2 sofa beds with 1 full bath, sleeps 4 people. If you're looking for a nice waterfront restaurant we often visit Fin's or Circles in Apollo Beach, Joia on Gibsonton Drive, Rivers Edge or Tiki Docks on the Alafia, & Little Harbor in Ruskin. All noted restaurants are 5-20 mins away! The International Independent Showmen's Association Event Center and Museum is close to property and they have tours of the Museum. It can sometimes be noisy during some events. ( A few days a year). Please check for times and dates before booking if you have concerns.

The hist was wonderful. He answered every question we had. The house was super nice and clean. Loved the screened in patio. Will definitely be back if ever in the area again.

A lovely spot on the river. Each morning, we enjoyed coffee while watching the mullet splash with joy! Lots of bird watching in the area, too.

Beautiful, peaceful location, clean and nice place. Gary responded to my messages and questions promptly.The screen porch near the river was nice for have morning coffee, and ensuring there weren't bugs when sitting out in the evening.The couches are different from the pictures shown on the listing, but both are pull out sofa beds, full size (not queen).

I’m kind of a clean freak. I cleaned when we got there. It could’ve been cleaner. Otherwise the place could be our home away from home. The barking dogs next door were somewhat annoying. The owner was super-responsive. We will be back as we have friends & family in the area.

We enjoyed our stay! The location had great views and we really enjoyed the dock and screened in patio. Gary was great about ensuring we had everything we needed.

the host barely talked with us, we called customer service two times and got no satisfaction. customer service sent an email for me to send pics but i don't know how to do that so my daughter is helping me with it and you will recieve it shortly. the whole experience was not good.

Gary was an awesome host very friendly and helpful! Place was clean and fit 5 of us perfectly. Location was cute and peaceful right on the water. Would recommend for a more chill and quiet getaway. Definitely recommend to anyone!

Peacefulness

My parents and my wife’s parents have stayed at Gary’s places several times and they really enjoy the locations on the river. Staying on the river is peaceful and just the right spot. The homes/rooms are always clean and you have what you need even for an extended stay.

Girl's Vacation

Restful, relaxing and we loved the swing on the deck. Right on the river, the view was lovely. Nearby restaurants were delicious. We can highly recommend Joia, described as a pizza and martini restaurant. The ravioli and salad was very good and the chocotini was wonderful. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful.

River Charm

River Charm lived up to its name. We had morning coffee outside in the lanai every morning. Watched the sunrise, the Pelicans fish and so many other birds to watch. Location was perfect for us. Less than 10 minutes, by back roads, to our daughter in Riverview. Great stay and perfect spot for us.

Renter Beware

Essentially the enclosed space of a "stilt-house". Very cramped, especially the bath tub/comode/sink. Had no dining table, only 4 elevated bar chairs for a short counter. Communication with host did not begin well: aside from the entry code and WiFi password, greeting message was a litany of threatened "fines", including trying to pass responsibility for an inadequate septic tank ($200 "fine" if it clogged). Would not recommend this property or others of his ownership.

Don, I'm sorry you did not enjoy your stay! The house is a three-story structure with the first story being concrete block. The access code for the lock and the Wi-Fi name and password are right above the instructions about the sensitivity of a septic system which is not inferior. The counter bar is long enough for four to five people to dine. The other things you spoke about can all be seen in the pictures provided on the website. It may be a very good idea to do some due diligence (looking at pictures, etc.) before making a reservation instead of taking so much time to write negative reviews. Other hosts should be aware of taking reservations from you. I have hundreds of five-star reviews from this property and my other properties.

River retreat

Both the owner and the property manager; Cody, were extremely helpful and responsive. Great experience if you like to fish, right off Gary’s dock. Easy access to lots of Tampa attractions.
