Great little lake getaway with two important caveats
We chose this property for our annual lake trip to Nacimiento due to its proximity to some friends that live in the Running Deer Ranch community. The property was tidy and had a lot of fun amenities for our whole family including a well-stocked game cabinet, cornhole set and disc golf baskets throughout the property. Overall, the property was very nice and well-kept. Quarters were pretty tight for two families but completely adequate and the property was stocked with all of the essentials. Two major caveats that contributed to my overall 4-star rating are: 1) access to the lake for launching and storing our boat was only allowed due to our relationship with other RDR owners that were present with us. This property does not have lake access and the RDR board is very strict about owners being present with guests at the launch ramp and day use area. 2) There is no trash service anywhere around the lake and all trash must be packed out. With two families living here for a week, we had more than a truckload of trash that had to be dealt with. We found solutions, but it was a part-time job managing trash on our vacation. I would love to see an easier solution for guests at this location, but we also understand that this is sort of a condition of rural living on Naci. Without access to the lake, this property would be extremely secluded, that may be good or bad for you, just consider that it's at least 50 minutes to town for ANY supplies...and trash disposal. Host was great
