Aloha & Welcome to our mid-century modern Maui condo. We invite you to stay and enjoy the peaceful and beautiful Kauhale Makai (Village by The Sea)resort.

We would like to share our vacation home with you!

This condo offers; fully stocked kitchen, new stainless steel appliances, many kitchen accessories, modern style furniture, new floors throughout, and much, much more!

The master bedroom has elegant modern furniture and a king platform bed with a luxurious Serta pillow top mattress.

The living room has a comfortable pull out sofa bed with a queen mattress (full inner spring - not foam or inflatable), and a 55" LED Smart TV and WiFi. The kitchen will meet all your needs, the brand new appliances and accessories are all you require to prepare a basic meal or a fancy feast. This kitchen has it all! This condo offers Central AC to keep you cool , or you may wish to open the large sliding doors in the living room and bedroom to take advantage of the Maui trade winds.

This unit has magnificent views of the ocean. The large lanai overlooks the immaculately maintained grounds, including the heated pool, hot tub and barbecue area.

Kauhale Makai - Village By The Sea is proud to be a Smoke-Free condo/resort.

The view from this unit is absolutely stunning — the kind of Maui magic you never get tired of waking up to! The condo had everything we needed to get started and was beautifully furnished - it felt so welcoming and relaxing.And the bed… wow! So comfy! I may have lost my husband in it a few times (it’s huge), but we both agreed it was comfort to the max — and that never happens!Communication with the host was a breeze — clear, friendly, and responsive. The keyless entry was so convenient, and the location near the elevator makes it ideal for anyone with mobility concerns.All in all, this was our second stay at Kauhale Makai, and once again, it did not disappoint. The location is bang on for enjoying all Kihei has to offer and a quick walk across the lawn gets you to the beach. Mahalo for sharing your beautiful slice of paradise — we’ll be back for sure!

Home away from home

Wonderful location to rest and experience Maui. Could stay within 3 miles or drive an hour 2, either way you’d have something new to try almost daily. Food and a calm area where I could snorkel or hike was what I was going for and this spot was perfect for all. Home is clean, bright, and the perfect size for a couple.

Condo updated, and bed comfy, but slider door to lanai wouldn't open, living room is dark, needs more light, shower slow to drain until we cleaned hair out. Otherwise a nice place to stay.

Awesome condo at great location

We love the clean look of this condo and it’s large enough for couples. The bacony has an amazing view and it’s easy to get around the area. There is enough parking space and the grounds and bbq area are very well maintained. Everything looks very clean and organized.

Better than the photos!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a cute, modern condo that is actually larger and nicer than the photos show! It came pretty well equipped with beach towels, chairs, umbrella, and cooler, which were super useful. Lots of towels and supplies as well as a nicely stocked kitchen. The complex itself is laid out nicely and the pool area was fun!The down side was the place could use a better cleaning. I saw a photo of a filthy fan in one of the reviews, and that is still not corrected, as the scary fan is still right there. Also all of the vents are incredibly thick with dirt. The dishes and pots are not looked at after the previous tenants because there was a lot of food stuck on them and the blender wasn’t cleaned. Over all though this was an excellent stay for us! We enjoyed our time and it was all in a great area too!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property has the best view I could hope for, we were able to watch the wales from our deck. Bed was a little softer than I like, but I slept well in it. The kitchen was accessorized well, but could use a couple of spatchalas: a plastic one for flipping pancakes and a metal one for the gril out side. Condo was clean, although the floor had not been wet moped. My white socks turned brown within 20 minutes of arrival. It could use a couple more towels as there is not a washer or dryer in the condo and we didn’t come on vacation to spend hours doing laundry. Over all, It was a great experience and I look forward to coming back. Property management was easy to communicate with. Loved the place.

An honest review

Our second time in this building, different unit. We love our time in Hawaii, and appreciate the community aloha wherever we go. We aren't overly picky, and overall this unit is okay. I would equal it to a 2 star hotel on the mainland. The pros: great location, great grounds (pool, hot tub, lawn), short walk to beach. The cons: it feels a little sparse in the unit, not very inviting. It also has a smell, musty in a more than this is the tropics way. AC is pretty old, so perhaps it's that. The standup fan provided was the most disgusting fan I have seen, we never used it. The bed was broken, and yes as another person said: has a topper so it's incredibly soft. But overall, the unit felt pretty dingy to us. To be very fair, we let the property manager know all the issues and they replied they would update/fix things right away, so I'm hoping the next folks found the unit to be in much better condition.

I found this complex on Tripadvisor and I wasn't sure about it as I hadn't seen anyone talking about it on any Maui forums. Let's just say it is a very well kept secret. The complex is beautiful, the grounds are impeccably maintained, the grills, the pools and the hot tub were lovely. The unit was so much better than I expected. The photos don't really do it justice. It's small but very cozy for a couple! It's not fancy or loaded with amenities but it has what you need and it's very comfortable and was immaculately clean. The view is outstanding! We so appreciated the beach supplies and used them quite a bit. The property MGMT company was so nice and easy to work with. If we come back to Maui, we will absolutely book this place again!

Great getaway

Great ocean views, close to restaurants and shops. Easy access to roads leading to sights on the island. Beautifully maintained condo and property. I would highly recommend staying at this location.

Decent spot but better options available.

We stayed here over new years when there were not a lot of available properties, so our options were limited. We arrived at the 4 pm check in time (which is incredibly late) and the cleaner was still there. The place is a lot dingier than the photos indicate and I would recommend other accommodations if they are available.

Great Location

Very centrally located to all parts of the island. The beach isn’t very usable but it makes for a pretty sunset and you can easily drive a few miles down the road to many beautiful snorkeling beaches. Condo was very clean and everything worked great.

Great little condo and location

Overall the condo was nice. Some maintenance issues though. Sliding patio door was broken and unuseable. Dishwasher wouldnt work properly so dishes had to be hand washed. Bed has a foam topper which is pretty awful. Its hot and you just sink into it. Unless you like soft beds then you'd love it. The property amenities were great. Pool hot tub grill and the beach on the bay nearby were awesome. Communication was pretty good. Except they never replied when i asked what kind of coffee maker so we had to do 2 grocery store runs after we saw it was only a regular drip coffee maker. No coffee is supplied! We left some and sugar as well but i have a feeling its just what other guests may leave thats available.

The only thing I would suggest is for the cleaning personal, they need to do a better job at cleaning. I'm a clean person so when I arrived I swept and there was so much dirt/sand, something minor I was able to resolve by doing it myself. Everything else was great and cannot complain.

Perfect Getaway

My husband and I loved our stay at this apartment. It was next to the beach with a fantastic view. The furnishing was very modern and things like snorkel equipment and boogie boards were provided. We also appreciated the ease of checking in and out of the apartment. Overall highly recommend and would stay again!

Kihei was a perfect "base of operations" for all the fun things we had planned. A few minutes to the south we had Maluaka and Makena beaches. Great snorkeling and we never had to search long for turtles. A short drive north to historic Lahaina and Kapalua Ziplines. Haleakala and the Road to Hana were not far away either. Self check-in was a breeze and the condo was clean upon arrival. The kitchen was up-to-date and well equipped, however, the addition of some grilling utencils for flipping burgers outside by the pool would have been nice. We really, really, really appreciated the use of the beach gear (umbrellas, chairs and boogie boards) so, thank you much for that! I wish the site let us share pics because the sunsets on our balcony were magnificent. The A/C was cold and the water was hot. The entire complex settled down nicely in the evening so we could relax and everyone we encountered there seemed very happy. Why wouldn't they be? It's Maui! Thanks for having us. We'd definitely recommend Kauhale Makai to others. Cheers!
