This guest did not ever call us directly. She called VRBO twice. I am sorry if anyone laughed at her but all management communication was in writing (due to us contacting her via email in response to VRBO telling us she called them) and the complaints Cindy sent over were related to the outside surroundings. This comment about the floors was never involved in her messages. We are sorry we could not accommodate Cindy's request for a full refund which is what she wanted due to not liking the area. The only complaint she documented about the house itself was where one bathroom had a towel bar that had fallen off of its anchor. She called this a hole in the wall and sent a photo. We did send someone to replace that former towel bar with a hook. At that point Cindy and her group were at the house. We try to describe the house and the neighborhood very honestly to avoid reactions like Cindy's. The photos of the house do accurately reflect the house. The surroundings are not the same as the house and in fact some are quite humble and some residents do indeed seem to keep a lot of unusual things or even trash outside for weeks at a time. Thunderbolt is a historic fishing village by the intercostal waterway. Some people have resided here for decades. Real estate is very sought after in this area by locals despite the potential for neighbors having their old Christmas tree out in the yard all year. We are beholden to the Town of Thunderbolt and any codes it may enforce regarding what can be in the yard. Guests may wish to research the safety of Thunderbolt which could come as a pleasant surprise as it is a generally sleepy, safe tight knit community with its own small police force and town hall both within walking distance of this home.
