Parking was easy for the golf cart. The property is well maintained by Juan. Cesar was a great host and very accommodating. Very private yet near restaurants just a couple of minutes away. I would also recommend secrets impressions day passes, which is about two minutes away

3rd times a charm

This was our third time staying in unit 16 at Sotavento.The unit is on the end and walks right out to the pool and the best view on the Island.We have stayed all over the Island and by far. Unit is as advertised

What a great condo, perfect location! … south side of the island where it is a little bit more quiet, but the island is so small, you can get anywhere you want, fairly quickly, easy parking… Cesar the manager was always there if we needed anything.I like that it was on the ground floor because we had big suitcases and it was an easy jump into the pool! Well stocked with pans and dishes, and spices (only thing we didn’t have was a garlic crusher, and a colander for pasta.) we definitely will come back to the island, fun, restful vacation, gorgeous water and weather.!! Bring kitty treats because the condo has an adorable little boy named Simon. We fed him every day.

It was Awesome!

We loved it there!! It was in a perfect location. You could walk to 3 different restaurants and a store in couple of minutes. We'll definitely be back! 😁

Beautiful views

I have stayed at Sotavento Isla once before, but in a different unit. Just as before, the views are beautiful and the location is definitely the best on the island. Staying at the South end of the island, you can enjoy the peace and quiet and it’s only a short drive to excitement (if that’s what you’re looking for). I will stay at Sotavento again and again

We have stayed at the Sotavento condo complex and will likely return. 1st floor 1 bedroom with good Wi Fi, w/d and comfortable bed. Recommended.

Christmas in Isla

The property was amazing! Great location and views of turquoise-blue waters. The unit was clean and had all the accessories you would need to live there for an extended amount of time.The owners and the management were very helpful and responded in a timely manner, any time we had questions or needs. We definitely wouldn't hesitate staying at our host's home again in the future. Thanks for opening up your space for us.

Nice and Relaxing

The condo was beautiful, clean and peaceful. Beautiful view of the ocean and just few steps to the infinity pool. We loved being South end of the island away from the crowd. The Sunsets are beautiful! There are few local places to eat within walking distances. Very clean and well maintained inside the condo. Highly recommended & hope to stay again. Thank You Bob and Sandy for letting us stay at your place.

Nice spot but needs help

Overall the location, view, and place were good. What didn't go well was communication. We didn't have check in or check out info. Cesar was great as our contact on the ground but zero communication from the owners. There is quite a bit of damage throughout the property as well, but overall it didn't affect our stay. I sent a clear message about water damage in the living room ceiling and when we turned on the fan water went everywhere. No response. You'll enjoy the view, location, and pool, but overall it left much to be desired. There is also only a couch, not a futon as described with additional sleeping space.

Ultimate Relaxation

My wife and I had absolutely the best stay at the condo. This was not our first stay at the Sotavento condos. Last year we stayed at a 2 bedroom with friends but this year we wanted less steps with direct access to the amazing pool. #16 came with all the comforts of home and was very relaxing. Thanks to the Dickies for opening up their home and Cesar being responsive to our questions. BTW we left two floats for pool use. See you next year!

Great Location

Overall, we had a great experience with this condo and its location. This was our first time renting in Mexico, as we typically stay at resorts. The Sovento complex felt very safe, with key access required for entry and exit, ensuring that only residents were present.Being on the first floor turned out to be a great perk—we could step right off our deck and walk straight to the pool. The condo itself was clean and well-equipped with essentials. As mentioned in previous reviews, there was some water damage in the living room, likely from heavy rain, but the owners are addressing it. Fresh paint was visible on the walls, and new blankets covered the furniture.The condo offers thoughtful amenities, including air conditioning, two smart TVs, and a washing machine. We brought our own sheets and towels, which I’d recommend, as the provided linens were a bit worn.While there are some restaurants within walking distance, I highly recommend renting a golf cart for the week. There are fantastic dining options across the island that you’ll need to drive to.Would definitely consider staying here again!

A Peaceful Retreat

We recently stayed at Bob and Sandy’s condo on the south side of the island. The location was perfect for us—quiet and calming, a real escape from the hustle and bustle. The condo itself was secure and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. However, there were a few issues that affected our experience. During a rainstorm, the ceiling leaked quite badly, causing some flooding and damage to the furniture. We immediately alerted Bob and Sandy, but unfortunately, we did not receive any response from them regarding the situation. This lack of communication was disappointing. On the bright side, Cesar, the manager, was incredibly responsive and helpful. He did his best to manage the situation and assist us with any needs during our stay. Overall, it’s a nice place in a peaceful area, but better communication from the hosts would greatly improve the experience.

Great getaway

We stayed at this condo 3 years ago pre pandemic, and absolutely loved it, from property manager to the well appointed kitchen and breathtaking views to easy access to the stunning pool. This visit there was a disconnect between us, the property manager, and the owner. There was nobody to meet us at the property when we arrived, after several emails and texts to the property manager informing him when we would be arriving. I called him and he told me he had no idea we were checking in, but would be there in 20 minutes. Not the greatest start to our holiday after a long day of traveling. He did arrive in 20 minutes and gave us the keys but needed time to clean it. So we went to eat while they cleaned. After that hiccup it was smooth sailing. The kitchen could use a few more tall glasses and small plates and maybe a few storage containers. But all in all has everything you need View is amazing and the patio is literally 6 steps away. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back Thank you Bob and Sandy for sharing your beautiful condo with us.

Definitely not for us

We have been to Isla 25 plus times over the last 12 years and stayed many places. This was supposed to be a splurge for us the last 5 nights of our 28 night trip. Definitely not for us! A/C problem, leaking over toilet. We either had A/C in the bedroom/bathroom or a usable toilet (after A/C was turned off for 3-4 hours it would stop leaking). There was evidence this had been leaking for quite some time, many stains on the ceiling in the bathroom, then covered with blue painters tape and painted white and it still showed signs of long term leakage. We made multiple requests for repair, some acknowledged and some ignored, had to contact VRBO to get a temporary fix to last until we were gone. The condo has been poorly cared for in terms of cleanliness and minor repairs. I took pictures but do not have an option to add any of those to this review. The glamour photos in the listing are nothing like the reality of what you will get. The couch is covered with stained sheets and blankets, the rugs are stained, the dining room chairs need replaced due to grime on the arms and seats, the bathroom has multiple issues as previously discussed, the bedroom is very dark, holes in blinds, stained sheets, worn out pillows and the entire condo is missing some of the furniture shown in listing. There is a window in the entry that has a huge gap around the window frame thru to the outside where mosquitos were coming in. It's obvious this used to be a nice condo but it needs some care.

Beautiful place

We had an amazing stay at the condo for that me and my partner would like to thank you very much. Most of everything was provided to us which is nice. The only thing I would change would have been the smell coming from the bathroom pipe in the ground could have went away. Other than that it is a very great place to stay

Nice property, but lack of privacy

The apt isnt fine, esp for the price, but pics of furniture and decor dont match the listing. Expect it to be a little outdated. All that isnt worth complaining about, but lack of privacy caused us to to choose to leave and stay elsewhere. Other guests of the building have access to the garden just steps from your door. When we checked in, the shades were completely drawn to what should be a beautiful view. Once the property manager left, we realized why. Just outside our double doors someone was laying outside them as the grassy area along the pool os considered public.
