La base ideal para hacer turismo. Aislado entorno rural en el borde de Shrewsbury!

Accedido por una carretera de asfalto privada de 250 metros a la puerta, esta casa construida de ladrillo solía ser el granero en nuestra pequeña granja. Se ha convertido y equipado a un alto nivel. Tiene un gran salón de planta abierta / cocina arriba, desde el que una puerta estable lleva a una zona de estar exterior. En la planta baja: un cómodo dormitorio doble con cama king size, baño con ducha, recibidor y porche cerrado con área de secado y almacenamiento para abrigos, bicicletas, etc. Hay un aparcamiento privado al lado de la cabaña.
Hay un buen pub local en el pueblo (10 minutos a pie) y un servicio de autobús regular en Shrewsbury. Rápido y fácil acceso a las principales carreteras principales ya las zonas de Shropshire de excepcional belleza natural.

Lovely week

We had a lovely week at this cottage. Nora and Simon were so helpful and welcoming. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. There were many thoughtful touches. The location was perfect for exploring the area and i would recommend the Park and Ride to go into Shrewsbury. We hope to return in future!

A very enjoyable and comfortable stay at the Cornhouse

A lovely cottage set in a very quiet location and very helpful hosts. A comfortable and well equipped property that is convenient for Shrewsbury, walking in the Carding Mill Valley and several National Trust properties nearby.

Wonderful, relaxing, peaceful and spacious

We had a super stay in Hook-a-gate at this spacious and very well presented and equipped cottage. Nora was a lovely host and left a generous welcome basket. We like to try different places and never stay in the same accomodation twice, but I’d definitely make an exception for this lovely property in a great location to explore Shrewsbury and the surrounding area. Thanks so much Nora.

Excellent Cottage in quiet location for exploring Shropshire

Second time we have stay here ... lovely cottage for a couple in small village 4 miles from centre of Shrewsbury. Greeted with a lovely welcome pack including milk, eggs, bread , butter and biscuits . Bathroom and shower on the ground floor and lounge/kitchen (one room) on the first floor with outside sitting area if the weather is warm - lovely views. Great base to explore this part of the world as we visited Powis Castle and charming village of Ludlow both about 45 minutes driving. Shrewsbury 10 minutes max is also an excellent walk around with lovely gardens etc

Super Shropshire

Lovely property for two in the countryside and within easy reach of Shrewsbury. Plenty to do in the area with NT Attingham well worth a visit and also Shrewsbury Prison. Nora was the perfect host and this is a property we would happily recommend and revisit.

Lovely Cottage home from home.

This is a lovely Cottage in a nice quiet location but situated within easy driving distance to Shrewsbury and the Shropshire area. The host Nora is very welcoming and also included a hamper with some essentials to get us started for our stay.

A fabulous cottage in a quiet village

An ideal property for two people, well equipped and furnished to a high standard in a great location for visiting Shrewsbury and other places in Shropshire. The cottage was extremely quiet and peaceful in the evening and at night time, ensuring a good nights sleep in the comfortable bed. Nora and Simon were delightful hosts, quick to respond to any queries and helpful and friendly throughout. We really appreciated the delicious cake and welcome pack goodies awaiting us on our arrival.

LITTLE GEM !!

This cottage is a wonderful find in the heart of Shropshire. Everything was just perfect, the facilities, the attention to every detail right down to the welcome hamper of food, not to mention the owner, Nora, had baked a cake for our arrival. Great location, property with superb service. Fabulous stay.

Some background…my wife and I have recently retired and moved to Shrewsbury from Canada. We had originally booked this approx. two years ago. Covid and other issues necessitated a few amendments to our stay dates which Nora promptly and efficiently accommodated. This was our first experience with the superb service that our hosts provided. Our stay was for two weeks in July. The Corn House has the bedroom/bathroom downstairs with the living area/kitchen upstairs. This worked out well for sleeping with the warmer weather. My wife and I are in our early 50s and have travelled extensively. This property is as advertised. Quiet, peaceful location while still providing easy access to Shrewsbury either by car or bus (Arriva 546). If available, I would recommend booking it.

Hello, we are Nora & Simon Richards & we have lived at Hanley House since 1993. This used to be the farmhouse associated with a large farm. A few farm buildings close to the house remain, of which two are of traditional brick & tile, but were in a very sorry state.
One was the Corn House with hay loft & stable & the other was a workshop/smithy with a granary above. We decided to build these as purpose designed holiday cottages, they became available from 2005 & have ever since provided enjoyable breaks for people all over the world!.
We run the cottages ourselves & also look after the gardens, which are often complimented upon by our visitors. We get great satisfaction from reading our visitors comments & we are delighted that 5 star ratings are the norm!.

The cottage is a converted farm building specifically designed as a holiday let. For over 10 years it has been very popular and rated highly by our many visitors. It is a quiet location away from the main road with easy and quick access to major road networks. Shops only about 5 minutes away.
