Colby Reef is a charming, private, and relaxing home offering an incredible Mendocino coast getaway.

Located only 1.5 miles from Van Damme State Park & Beach, where you can explore an incredibly scenic network of trails, including the unique pygmy forest and lush fern canyon. You can rent a kayak or relax at the beach. Right by the park is the Little River Inn, offering a 9-hole golf course, tennis courts, spa, fabulous dining, and Ole's Whale Watch Bar.
The historic Mendocino Village and all it has to offer is just an 8-minute drive.

The stunning living room with vaulted ceilings opens to the dining, kitchen, and mezzanine area, making it perfect for everyone to stay connected.

The mezzanine area includes a foosball table, board games, and two amazing recliners to kick back and enjoy the ocean views.

The large dining table has seating for ten to enjoy a great meal as you gaze at the waves.

There are two bedrooms on the main floor. The ocean views primary suite has a king-size bed and an attached ensuite with a separate shower and bathtub.
The second guest bedroom on the main floor has a queen-size bed and looks out to the beautiful deck and yard.

There is a large private suite downstairs that you can also access from a separate entrance, which includes a king-size bed, two queen sleeper sofas, a detached bathroom, and a laundry room.

The large wraparound ocean view deck has a hot tub, barbecue, and several areas to relax, unwind, and take in the splendid sunsets.

Colby Reef is the perfect home to make Mendocino coast memories that will last a lifetime.

Although Colby Reef is pet friendly, please note that it is limited to dogs only with a maximum number of no more than 2.

Big House, Lots of Room, Quiet Area, Great View!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Third time we've stayed here with our dog. Great view in private quiet area. Really like having access to garage for our mountain bikes! Has everything we really needed! My wife says it needs a full-length mirror & a Keurig coffee pot would be nice! Only other suggestion is for the price it would be nice if the cobb webbs were cleaned over the dining room table & kitchen window.

Great Mendocino House Rental

The downstairs part of the house was great for our group of teens as it left the main part of the house upstairs for the rest of us. It’s close to the town of Mendocino and Fort Bragg. The house has all the amenities we need and the kitchen is well stocked with plenty of supplies. We really appreciate that it is pet friendly and that our dog can travel with us.

The location is convenient for our frequent trips into Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Deer and quail visited daily. Though the visibility of the ocean from the house is nice, the outside of the windows on ocean-facing side were dirty, causing a hazy obstructed view. The charcoal barbeque was pretty rusted out, and the hot tub is not on the ocean-facing side of the house. And beware of the carpeted runners placed on top of the carpet, they are a trip hazard! That said, the house was generally very nice, and I would happily recommend it to others.

Reviewer Comments: The views you can enjoy during meals from the dining room table, or while enjoying beverages on the deck, or even from the cozy chairs on the upper levels are amazing. Somehow even doing dishes is better with the view of the ocean out the kitchen window! The home is conveniently located to Mendocino town and hiking trails, and not much farther from Ft. Bragg and the Skunk train. The hot tub is very enjoyable but does not have an ocean view. However, given the windy days we experienced, I can understand why it is positioned where it is on the back of the home, more sheltered from the ocean winds.One thing that could be improved is the pull-out couches in the basement. Those are very uncomfortable and I cannot recommend them. It would also be nice if the maintenance issues with the chimney were resolved so that guests could enjoy a fire in the fireplace on chilly, windy nights.

Little River coastal beauty

We loved our stay at the house! It had stunning views and was well equipped with amenities to get us started! We were bummed the fire place didn’t work as it was fairly chilly in the main part of the house in the morning and evening. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would love to go back!

Loved It!

We had a great stay celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. The property management went to the extra length of recognizing our special day with signage and a special treat at the bar. The house was beautiful, comfortable, great views, and near everything we wanted to do. We would definitely stay at this property again and can highly recommend.

Amazing property

We went here for my fathers 80th birthday celebration. It was perfect! The property was even more beautiful than the pictures and the house has a lovely cozy atmosphere. Adults, seniors and children all loved it and had plenty of room. The views were great too of course! Checkin was smooth and simple and the house was super clean. It was perfect in every way for us and we hope to return again someday .Thanks for all the personal touches and!

The beds were very comfortable, there was plenty of space throughout the house to relax, and the house was very well stocked. It would have been nice if the door code could have been delivered electronically, but stopping into to pick up the welcome packet was easy enough. Regardless, we loved every moment of our stay. We would absolutely stay here again.

The house was wonderful. My only objection was the check in process. Not sure why we had to drive into Mendocino to get a paper telling us what the door code was. An email would have been better. Other than that it was a terrific weekend. Beautiful house and wonderfully appointed. We'll be back :)

Beautiful location with lots of privacy

The location is lovely, great views of the ocean, although best observed from the upper level viewing chairs inside. There is a huge wraparound deck, with one side facing the ocean, and the other facing the secluded forest. The hot tub location faces the forest, and was very private and quiet. My negative note is the sofa in the living room is quite old, to the point where some of the seams are coming undone. Overall, this was a very nice home with an excellent location, and would be great for a family gathering.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was nice and clean. The kitchen had limited supplies as regular can opener, the electric one was difficult to operate. There was no naming dishes only cookie sheets and no crock pot either. The 2 couch beds downstairs mattresses were very uncomfortable. They need to invest in better mattresses for their guests.
