Excellent stay!

High water and rain didn't dampen our moods when we had such great accommodations. We did have a break in the weather and were able to enjoy the kayaks and even had a fire at the beach before the next shower rolled in. Great getaway!

Cozy Cabin

We stayed at the Adirondack cabin over New Years Eve, with family at the Lodge next door. It was a perfect location with cozy cabin features and walking distance to the lodge. Beautiful view overlooking Hinkley lake. It was blanketed with snow during our stay, but i can also imagine how beautiful and enjoyable it would be during summer months. Hot tub was enjoyed daily! We loved our stay!

Beautiful Cabin

Beautiful cabin on prestigious property. Plenty of room inside for our family and nice trails to hike... ALL on the property!! Hot tub was a bonus and allowed a perfect setting for evening activities. Kitchen had all the amenities and more!! Property manager was prompt and always responded to my questions in minutes. We’ll be back!!!!

House on a lake w/boating and beach

Lovely stay at Henckley Reservoir. Emily & Kim(s) gave nice attention to detail like the waters and snacks available for excursions. We rented a pontoon boat and Andre was a great captain showing us around the lake first. Loved having a clean private beach to ourselves and the paddleboards and kayaks were easy to use. The view afternoon and evening was lovely including the loons. Thank you so much! Cabin was very comfortable and clean and up to date.

Perfect middle of nowhere escape from life

My family stayed here for a week in July. There were 3 families. 7 kids, 9 months old to 14 years old. The cabin is absolutely beautiful. Everything was very clean and neat. The outside was very clean and tidy. We put all the kids downstairs and everyone was happy. Once we were there, we didn’t have to do a thing. Everything we could possible need was there. We rented a pontoon boat and the owner brought it to us and docked it. Then, all week every morning someone would fill it with gas for us. Plenty of kayaks and paddle boards to go around! Kids swam, fished, played ball on the lawn. Outside gas fire pit is so nice. Then there is another fire pit down on the beach. We took the boat over to Rocky’s for dinner a few nights and it was amazing! Hot tub is very nice! Lots of seating on the deck and under to relax! The wrap around deck is so peaceful and relaxing. The linens were all nice and clean. House fully stocked with cooking supplies. We didn’t even have to leave. It was perfect. We can’t wait to go back again!

Not Luxury Rental

Summary of comments I passed along to Guest Services in August of 2022. Safety Issues: There is a significant moisture problem in the lower level – there was water pouring down the walls near the staircase and dripping down from the cross bars on the ceiling tiles when we arrived. I can only assume there is mold and other moisture related problems in the ceiling tiles and rug. Water that dripped on the floor made the tile very slippery. The faucets in the shower on the lower level are installed backwards – what you think is cold is actually hot water. The sink faucets in both the lower and main level no longer “stop” when you turn off the water – you need to find the right “spot” to ensure the water is completely turned off and not left running (which happened a couple of times). The dishwasher is NOT attached to the counter – when you open the door, the unit slides out from under the cabinet. The hot tub was gross – especially the slippery carpet on the lower deck that was actually growing moss around the hot tub. Suggestions: NO instructions on how to operate the TV – which remotes went to which TV’s, how to access the DISH and other features. The upstairs bedroom had no place to put clothes – there is no closet in the room and there was no dresser when we arrived. The house sleeps up to 12 – we only had 8 and couldn’t all sit down to dinner together – the chairs/bench in the dining room could only accommodate 7 and the table outside only fit 6. There was NO PLACE to put away the food we brought with us for a one-week stay. It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in the boat house, so you didn’t have to lug refreshments and snacks up and down the hill.

Hello Susan, first and foremost we would like to sincerely apologize that you had a less than stellar stay with us. We always go above and beyond to ensure that your stay is an unforgettable, positive experience - and we pride ourselves on our return guests. We are routinely in the Adirondack Cabin between each guest checking on any repairs that may be needed, servicing the hot tub and cleaning the entire property from top to bottom so that it’s ready for the next guest’s stay. In addition to our routine damage and cleaning sweep, we also have weekly property checks and monthly maintenance inspections to ensure the cabin is up to the highest standards and guidelines for not only your convenience, but your safety. If an issue arises during a guest’s stay with us, we have 24 hour maintenance on site that will stop by to address and correct the issue. Upon your departure it was discovered that the thermostat had been turned on very low downstairs, which would absolutely effect the humidity on the lowest level during the month of August. The sink faucets had also been fixed upon your departure, and we always ask that you contact us during your stay if anything of this nature were to happen so we can send maintenance over to correct the issue. We appreciate and welcome all guest suggestions to improve the quality of future guest stays, and we’ve since added instructions on operating the smart tv’s in the cabin guest books. Unfortunately, we would not be able to add a small refrigerator to the boat house, as you are aware it sits on the water and if there were any chance of flooding it could cause an electrical issue. We sincerely appreciate your transparency and candid feedback, and we’d like to assure you that your concerns were thoroughly investigated and resolved upon your departure back in August.

Quiet retreat in beautiful lakeside setting

Our family (including grandparents & 9 year old son) all enjoyed the quietness and gorgeous lakeside views this home provided. Every amenity including kayaks, life jackets, pristine hot tub, comfortable beds and very well stocked kitchen, all helped to create a relaxing and comfortable stay. Located on a gorgeous quiet area of the lake with plenty of space to play baseball, etc. outside. Restaurant down the road was fun and convenient. Highly recommend this home with plenty of space to spread out on 3 different levels. Very responsive host/property manager!

Great location except for the construction

The Adirondack cabin at the Kuyahoora Resort is a beautiful. Besides hard to work showers the house was perfect and filled with the things you need for an extended trip with plenty of room. The yard and the lake provide ample possibilities for activities and fun. All of the kayaks and paddle boards were in great shape except for one which was missing a fin but we had that replaced. My only real complaint is that the property had construction going on which I was not made aware of until after having myself, family and friends drive 4 hours, and spending 4k on this property and checking in. Expectations when you are paying this much and driving out that far from anything is a little peace and quiet. The construction was on the same property and it was them adding another rental unit. When I tried contacting the manager through VRBO to ask how long and when this will continue I recieved no reply back (two times). Bottom line: this is a great rental but I highly recommend you contact them before you book your trip to make sure they aren't doing construction on the resort during your stay. It definitely dampens the atmosphere.

Wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with family and friends

The cabin was perfect for us; two families with kids 3-15 of age. Although the cold weather and snow we enjoyed the outdoor lake and kayaks, we built a snow man and had a nice hike in the area . We came with all our supplies and managed to cook nice meals in the fully equipped kitchen. We enjoyed cozy time with the kids and friends. Perfect location with amazing view and tranquility.

Top notch - WELL deserved 5 stars!

This was our first trip up to Cold Brook and this area of NY. We definitely chose the best place to stay! The pictures listed for this cabin do NOT give this cabin and surrounding area justice!! It’s absolutely beautiful! The house is extremely well stocked with anything you may need from big pots, small pots, plates, plenty of utensils and cooking utensils. A big cabinet of spices, sugar, salt and pepper is provided! There is a Keurig AND a regular coffee pot too. The little things they include upon your arrival such as snacks bags, cold bottled water in the beverage coolers (3 full coolers throughout the house!), plenty of bathroom tissue, little shampoo/conditioner/body wash in each bathroom, towels and PLENTY beach towels are some of the things that really make this place special. There are pontoon boats that are available to rent upon request and we decided to take advantage of that one of the days we were there. Al was our captain and even if you know how to operate a pontoon boat it was worth it to have him take us out and be our guide!! He knows the reservoir like the back of his hand! He took us to some great fishing spots, the dam, the cliffs and beach area, and let the kids tube off the pontoon boat! It was a blast! We spent many nights down by the fire on the beach and fishing from the dock. We took the kayaks and paddle boards out and put them to good use for fun and fishing! The entire trip has its moments of pure fun, relaxation and utter exhaustion from all the activities we were able to fit in. The jacuzzi was a great place to relax and unwind as well! Thanks to Kim, Kat and Al for making our stay a very memorable one!! We hope to be back next year!!

Great all around

Great family rental, kayaks, paddle boards, towels provided a huge plus. Limited pictures online but great property with great kitchen, deck by the water, small beach area. Short drive/walk to Rocky’s, so convenient for take out or is stop in to the bar for drinks. Phone reception was bad but that is expected when you get away and disconnect. Beautiful views and friendly helpful staff.

Great Family Getaway

My husband, 3 daughters, parents, and brothers family, spent a great week relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. The house had everything you could want/need, was extremely clean and amenities were perfect for all ages. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend!
