Welcome to Cape Chin Getaway! Enjoy the scenic beauty of the aqua water and the sound of the waves within steps, hiking the Bruce Trail and multiple side trails or relax in our private sauna and hot tub while watching the numerous birds come and go from our backyard retreat.

The space
Cape Chin Getaway is a private, nature filled escape. With beautiful views of the surrounding forest, this single level home designed with knotty pine high sloped ceiling, is just steps from Georgian Bay and the Bruce Trail! We are only 2kms to Devils Monument via the Bruce Side Trail which begins in our backyard! Escape the city to this special retreat, complete with hot tub and sauna, and just let yourself relax! Also work remotely - we have high speed internet and a backup generator!

Do you have an electric vehicle? Have no worries, as we have an EV Charger. Our universal charger with dual plug type is compatible with all North American EV's (Level 2 up to 48A).

The kitchen is equipped with all dishes and cooking utensils (blender, traditional coffee maker and grinder, Keurig Coffee Maker (bring your favourite coffee or tea pods), instant pot, toaster) to cook a gourmet feast.

We have a drilled well equipped with a water softener and our water is purified through a UVA filtration system. In addition, our refrigerator is equipped with a further filter and provides cold drinking water on demand.

Large living space with high sloped knotty pine ceiling, complete with fully equipped gourmet kitchen and dining table. Rainy days can be spent watching movies, playing the many board games, puzzles and table tennis (not regulation size), or select from one of our many books to read.

Wellness amenities include private hot tub, sauna, and 2 yoga mats. Relax in the private cedar barrel sauna or soak in the hot tub (both sauna and hot tub are open all year!!). Every weather is sauna and hot tub weather! (Just remember to bring your beach towel)

The home is centrally located in Cape Chin North between Tobermory and Lion's Head along the stunning escarpment of the Bruce Peninsula. There truly is no place like it! Feel humbled by the tall tree views and 200 foot limestone cliffs plunging down into the crystal clear waters of Georgian Bay right next to the Bruce Trail.

Linens for the cottage are included. Please use the provided sheets to make the beds you need. The towels we provide are for indoor use only. Please bring your own towels for use at the beach, sauna, and hot tub.

Like to bird? Use the binoculars. You will find yourself immersed in wildlife from the backyard. Numerous avian friends as well as the neighbourhood foxes.

On clear nights, make use of the Bruce Peninsula's Dark Sky zone. Appreciate stargazing with the naked eye, or choose to use the telescope.

In the summer months, enjoy BBQing in the backyard. Relax on the expansive wooden deck partially shaded by the pergola. Choose to lounge on the outdoor sectional or enjoy your meal at the outdoor dining area. Fancy an outdoor fire? Our outdoor fireplace surrounded by muskoka chairs is sure to please under the canopy of stars. All you need to do is bring your own supply of firewood, fire starter, matches/lighter.

Can't get parking at Devils Monument? No worries, just walk from the backyard! That's right - access the Bruce Trail from the backyard. The Devils Monument side trail is only 2kms away from the backyard.

Community shared beach access is located less than 100 meters from the house. We recommend water shoes for ease of entry in and out of the water as the Bay is made up of shore stone. We provide foldup chairs, beach umbrella, and beach mat. Bring your own beach towels, kayaks, and life jackets!

Blazing fast Starlink internet provided! Should you choose to, or need to work remotely, this is very convenient. Just set yourself up at our dedicated workspace. And, for peace of mind, we also have a backup generator, in the event of a power outage.

**LOCATION** we are located in a REMOTE area of the Bruce Peninsula. If you are looking for quiet, nature, beach and hiking -this IS the cottage for you! But if you are looking for shops/restaurants, night life, grocery store, we are only 25 mins/23kms to Lion's Head and 35 mins/38kms to Tobermory. Both locations have a Foodland grocery store.

(We are on septic with only one bathroom)

Other things to note
** MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY AT ANY TIME ** Maximum 6 adults and 2 children up to the age of 12 for a total of 8. Occupancy is strictly enforced by the municipality as well as the owners of the home - should the occupancy be disregarded, the deposit amount will be forfeited and reservation cancelled.

Guest access
Guests have access to the full cottage with backup generator, front yard and backyard, private hot tub and sauna, parking for 3 cars in driveway and EV charger.
Family friendly (board games, table tennis ((not regulation size)), books for all ages, and upon request the following items can be made available - mini crib, high chair, stroller).
Some accessibility features are available. Entire home is on one floor only with a step up access to front and rear yards. Upon request at time of booking, an accessibility ramp can be set up temporarily for the front entry. Some entrances are 32" or wider, but some are not. If applicable, please make an inquiry for further information.

Other things to note
Cell phone signal at the home is intermittent. Exterior cameras out front are for the security of our guests and also for our insurance. Upon request, at time of booking, one child's highchair, one mini crib (which can easily be moved to any part of the home), sound machine, baby monitor, baby gate, toys, outlet plug covers, and one stroller can be made available.
