Bearfoot Lodge is located on the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula, beside Bruce Peninsula National Park, nestled between the shores of Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. This remarkable area spans more than 155 square kilometres at the edge of the Niagara Escarpment and is defined by dramatic limestone cliffs, hidden caves, underground streams, and ancient forests that include some of the oldest trees in Canada.
The neighbouring Bruce Peninsula National Park protects an extraordinary range of habitats, from rare alvars and wetlands to dense forest and pristine inland lakes. Together with the surrounding landscape, this region forms one of the largest remaining intact natural ecosystems in southern Ontario—a place where wilderness still feels truly wild.
Towering cliffs rise directly from the turquoise waters of Georgian Bay, creating breathtaking shoreline scenery. Large tracts of forest provide habitat for black bears, while rare reptiles find refuge among rocky outcrops and wetland areas. Ancient cedar trees cling to cliff edges, their twisted forms shaped by centuries of wind and weather. Throughout the region, a rich diversity of orchids, ferns, and plant life thrives in the mosaic of unique environments.
This is the heart of the Cameron Lake–National Park community, where nature takes centre stage and outdoor exploration is part of daily life. Hiking, wildlife viewing, paddling, swimming, and quiet moments in nature are all easily accessible, offering visitors a deep connection to the land and water.
Bearfoot Lodge offers more than just a place to stay—it’s an invitation to experience one of Ontario’s most ecologically rich and visually stunning regions, where ancient landscapes, protected wilderness, and tranquil surroundings come together in perfect balance.
