Charlotte's Place is steps away from the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean. Close to beach access, this open floor plan features beautiful finishes. Custom heart pine wood flooring throughout the home ads to the beautiful decor. A large dining space accommodates large family meals and gatherings. The screened porch located just outside the dining area provides additional dining and lounging space. The master suite is located on the main floor and offers access to a private screened porch. The second-floor guest bedrooms enjoy a shared living area ideal for families traveling together. The second-floor living area also offers a queen sleeper sofa. Enjoy time in the sun and great water views from the open deck. Charlotte's Place is conveniently located near Beach Access #9. Sleeps 8 (max.). 3 bedrooms, with additional sleeping in the loft (1K-1Q,1Trundle-1QSS). 2 full baths. 1 half bath. (1) 4 passenger cart (1) 6 passenger cart. Pets allowed. High Speed Internet. Friday/Friday. 5:30 p.m. arrival/10:30 a.m. departure.

A week at Charlotte's Place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a lovely experience. The house is well set up for families- lots of games, toys, etc for kids of all ages. It was very private and very close to West beach so some lovely sunsets, though a bit more humid and buggier than other parts of the island- luckily, we had screened porches! It was close to the ferry, the lighthouse and restaurants and really not too far from anything (nothing is too far on Bald Head). Dog friendly was a huge plus as well!

Cute house, needs some TLC

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First impression was bad. Overgrown with weeds. Needed an exterior paint job. Interior of house was cute. Nice floor plan and nice decor, though sofas needed to be cleaned. Watch bench area upstairs if you have young kids: they could climb over and fall down to the bottom of the stairs. Dishwasher was crazy loud and left some dishes dirty. We used the 2nd-story door exclusively, entering and exiting the porch, because the downstairs door was extremely hard to lock. TV was a bear to figure out; needed more-thorough instructions IMO. Mechanical noise in master bedroom at night; never did figure out what it was. Used a sound machine to drown it out. Could walk to the beach in five minutes from this house. We mainly used the golf cart to go to our favorite beach at the top of the island.

Great location needs repairs

The house is in a great location and the house itself is nice but it needs maintenance. The master bedroom mattress needs replacing It's very soft and lumpy. We had to call maintenance because the upstairs bathroom sink and tub were clogged and the downstairs bathroom toilet was not working. They came right away and unclogged everything and fixed the toilet but it was a pain have to call maintenance on your vacation The house just needs some TLC

Great Family Getaway

Great Rental

Reviewer Comments: Overall the house is great - Pros- was very clean upon arrival - plenty of room for us, love that it’s pet friendly - tons of games which our kids loved!! Large eating area which was nice too. Cons - the oven is very wonky ... took twice as long to cook something , could use a new can opener, and the six seater cart had a bit of a putter and a lag. Minimal cons though overall outstanding rental!

Nice and comfy home in BHI

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I enjoyed staying in this home. Our kids and their friends like the location and the easy access to beach. We would rent this house again if we go back to BHI. I would recommend purchasing extra sauce pan or two for the kitchen. The cleaning crew forgot to clean the staircase/landing to the basement. An outdoor shower would be great addition :) Thank you!

Better than last year

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Charlotte’s Place before. The owners listened to the reviews and have cleaned up the landscaping. I think they replaced the loud dishwasher (we only ran it at night so didn’t notice). The stove and oven are finicky but we made it work. We had some issues with the dryer but the rental company was amazing and took our laundry away to dry it for us until the dryer was fixed. The house was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Very clean! Charlotte’s Place has so many games and puzzles for something to do on rainy days! We enjoyed our morning walks on the beach by using the nearby beach access. We were able to use the pool everyday at BHI Club but we were unable to get dining reservations the entire week. Even getting take out from them was nearly impossible. We enjoyed our stay anyway and used the grill almost every night to make dinner. We took a kayak tour one afternoon and climbed to the top of Old Baldy. There is so much to do here and we love Bald Head Island!

Great house and location but so many golf cart issues

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been traveling to BHI for almost 20 years now and have stayed in many houses in various locations on the island, using different realty companies. This house was well maintained, clean and a really nice location. But we had a lot of golf cart issues throughout the week. Luckily we had brought our bikes and we had a kid cart that attached to one of the bikes, because there were a couple of times when we had to bike to the grocery store because we had no operational cart to use. Intracoastal was very quick to respond each time but I think the issue is that the carts just aren't well maintained. For example, there were 7 year old batteries in one cart when the average life span is 3 to 4, according to the cart repair guy. Also the tires were completely bald on our six seater. One of those tires blew out one afternoon. I don't think we had two days during our 7 day stay that we had the same two carts in our possession due to carts being swapped out. One day, we went out to go for a bike ride and only had one cart there and had no communication from anyone that the cart was being taken for service. The day we arrived, we had no carts upon arrival. We had to abandon one of the carts along the road the second evening there, after just a 1 mile trip because it died. We had to call for help another time when our cart died several miles from our rental. The day our cart blew a tire was a little scary because we were in the process of pulling off the side of the road to check out an unusual noise when it happened and we narrowly missed running into a tree.

A Good Summer Break from Home during Coronavirus

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a good getaway from home---relaxing and yet fun. We rode bikes every day, and we went to the beach every day. The shopping was minimal but fun, and food takeouts and cook-ins were simple. The only problems were as follows: 1. doors were difficult to lock. 2. The dishwasher was noisy. 3. The landscape needs lots of work (especially with regard to weeding). 4. The landscaping lights did not work. Otherwise, our beds were comfortable, and everything else was provided for our comfort and enjoyment. It was great that two golf carts were provided so that my wife and I could drive one and our two adult daughters could drive the other.
