Vacaciona como una celebridad, en nuestra nueva casa en la playa llamada Casa Blanca. Ubicada a solo 2 cuadras de la playa.

El nivel principal es un concepto abierto que ofrece una estadia cómoda con una amplia cocina de chef con vista al comedor y la sala de estar y con una chimenea a leña. Perfecta para leer o relajarse, la acogedora sala de estar tiene vista al primer piso y está a solo 3 escalones del nivel principal. Los 2 dormitorios cuentan con camas queen y 2 baños completos. El nivel superior ofrece una amplia habitación familiar con TV y Air Hockey y se abre a un balcón con vista al patio con vistas a los árboles. Hay 2 habitaciones con camarotes estilo Jack y Jill y con una variedad de camas individuales y completas para dormir y un baño en el pasillo. El dormitorio principal tiene una cama king y un gran baño. En la parte inferior, encontraras una mesa de billar, ping-pong, y sport-tv.

La parte exterior cuenta con un espacio perfecto para descansar y cenar y una parrilla de gas. Dúchate en nuestra ducha exterior y relájate en una hamaca después de un divertido día de playa. Es un pintoresco lote espacioso completamente ajardinado que cuenta con una fogata a leña, con suficiente espacio para jugar al aire libre. El hogar puede alojar fácilmente hasta 17 personas, la tarifa anunciada es para hasta 10 personas. Se aplican tarifas por cada invitado adicional sobre los 10 asignados.

Nice home for family and friends gathering

The home had plenty of room for all of us. The location worked well for the activities we wanted to do. Check-in was easy. Kitchen was well equipped. We enjoy our stay.

Very nice inside accommodations. Roomy, equipped, clean, and fun. Social coffee on the front deck started our mornings (some updated cushions needed). Enjoyed the game rooms and nightly games, family meals, smores at the fire pit, and close proximity to beach and park.

Lovely stay with short walk to Lake Michigan

This house was the perfect location to meet up with Grandma and Grandpa while we were traveling with our 3 kids and dogs. The house had plenty of space and was just a short distance from a walking path for our dogs, as well as a short walk to the beach. We were able to visit Indiana Dunes National Park easily and were only a short drive to the train station that took us into Chicago. Great location. Lots of wild life to view in the neighborhood.

Christmas Celebration

We had rented this property last year for our family Christmas and were so happy with it, we did so again this year. It was perfect, as expected. So many amenities we didn’t even get a chance to use. Wonderful host, location and space for 11 adults, 1 toddler, and a geriatric dog. We will definitely rent again and everyone thought we should try to meet up in the summer sometime.

Had a great family thanksgiving

The house was beautiful and there was so much stuff for the kids and adults to do! The host was resposinve to all our needs. The only thing that did not work was the coffee maker. Easy fix:) would recommend a stay here!

This is our 2nd year to rent this lovely home. It is so spacious and enough room for our family. A well equiped kitchen, and plenty of seating for us to eat and play table games. Comfy beds. There are areas to sit and read or sit on the porch or do a puzzle. The piano is a plus. Lots of inside activitties, pool, pingpong, air hockey table for the kids if the weather is not favorable. An easy walk to the beach, great bike path nearby, frisbee golf, and hot tub.

The perfect getaway

Casa Blanca was marvelous for us!

Seven families had a great week-long reunion. A picture on Houzz shows the lower level bedroom has a door to the outside; bikes and other gear can come in and out without having to navigate stairs! From our 3-year-old to our 75-year-old, we loved using the ping-pong table. We couldn't find the cornhole (nor the hammock), but we found an unexpected bocce ball set! The overstuffed chairs near the pool table were worn and superfluous; the oversized bean bag chair got a lot more use. On the back lawn we played our croquet set and enjoyed the hot tub. We took the beach wagon to the beach, which was delightful. The clothes washer was out of order. The bedroom on the lower level has no closet, nor any place to hang clothes, so we used the mudroom coat hooks. We enjoyed dining on the wrap-around porch, using two large tables. However, the door from the kitchen to the porch is hard to open and close, so going back for seconds was tedious. Reviews mentioning that door date back to 2021. The piano is in better shape than we expected; thanks, Margaret, for getting it in shape! The coffee table in the upper section of the first floor was great for jigsaw puzzles. Our young kid's favorite area was the living room on the second floor; they reconfigured the couch cushions as houses, a bank, and a "marketplace". Despite adjusting the thermostats, the second floor was too warm and the lower level was too cool. These quibbles aside, we loved Casa Blanca and will seriously consider returning.

A great stay at Miller Beach

We had a great trip to Miller Beach. Margaret’s house was as described. Lots of board games, plus pool, ping pong and air hockey were great for the kids. Check in was easy and her communication was quick.

Stunning Home Steps From Lake Michigan and National Park

Margaret's home was SO beautiful and comfortable for my family - there were 10 of us ranging in ages from 3 to 76! My husband and I enjoyed our morning coffee on the front porch, listening to the birds and watching the deer stroll by. Our two families from Texas and Virginia met in Miller Beach to explore Indiana Dunes National Park. The park and the beaches are stunning. The home was a great location for these activities. We were not too familiar with the Gary, Indiana area living so far away, and admittingly were a little worried as we were just a couple miles away from the house and the surrounding area looked a bit abandoned. Once we got to the home and explored the neighborhood, we felt safe and right at home. We did have to drive to Merrillville (25 mins away) to find a more robust grocery store, which wasn't a huge deal. All in all, we had a wonderful stay! Thanks for the hospitality Margaret!

Sports weekend!

My family stayed her during a swimmeet for my daughter in nearby Hobart. It served as a perfect home base. The host was super helpful during check-in and the house was immaculate. We’d definitely stay here again!

Family celebration

The property was wonderful. We loved the main living area where we could all gather for visiting, cooking, eating, play games, etc. and have plenty of room for all 9 of us and a baby and dog. Had great amenities which we didn’t get around to using. Had everything on the kitchen you might need and more. All was clean, well kept and great outdoor areas which we would have enjoyed if the weather had cooperated. Will definitely keep this in mind for a future get together.

Our yearly family outing

This place was beautiful; exceptionally clean and very spacious for a family of 11. The pool table, ping pong and air hockey was an added benefit. We liked that each level had it's own area to hang out. The kitchen was well supplied and lots of seating. The yard is beautiful. It was an easy walk to the beach and to the bike/walking path near the park. Our family voted this their favorite Labor Day place to stay to date. The owner was very prompt in answering questions.

Great multi-family house

This house had plenty of room for our family reunion. There are several large common spaces, ample dining room and kitchen space, and having two master suites and two bunk rooms was ideal. Close to a lot of great beaches. Had a minor issue with water coming under a door after a heavy storm, but the owners were very responsive and addressed it immediately. We enjoyed our stay and would come again.

Great house for large group

Open floor plan kitchen perfect for hosting with three levels to spread out families/groups. 5 minute walk to the smooth, sandy, lakeside beach. Host communicates well and house is as pictured. End of July to beginning of August felt almost private at the beach during the week.

Great house - even better than photos

We were a group of 6 adults and 6 kids ranging in age from 1-8. There was something for everyone here and you can’t beat the closeness to the beach which we found to be mostly clean and a great place to hang out with the kids. The house was even bigger than we had imagined from photos and everyone had their own space. Adults and babies stayed mostly on the main floor and deck. The kids booped around between the air hockey table upstairs and the ping pong/tv space downstairs. Communication with the owner was great. She was helpful and quick to respond. The only issue we ran into was that there was more sand underfoot in the house than we would’ve liked. We had a hard time locating a broom but Margaret didn’t stop trying to help us find it. It was eventually located in a locked garage which was a mistake made by the cleaning company. Had we had access to the broom earlier we could’ve swept up the extra sand and food remnants left by our kids. The day before we left margaret ended up coming by and getting the broom out for us which was very nice of her to do. It is a beautiful property, close to the beach. We were nervous about what the area would be like since it’s in Gary but we had no issues. We mostly stayed at the house or walked to the beach. Thanks for a great stay!

Margaret is a realtor with @ properties in the Chicago area. She started Restore North Shore, a construction and design company in 2010. She discovered Miller Beach in 2013, and purchased this abandoned cottage in 2016 with the desire to breathe life back into it. It was a complete labor of love, and she hopes to purchase more homes in need of repair throughout Chicago and the Miller area.
