Black Barn Escape is a modern, architecturally designed home set above Nelson, offering stunning sea views and a peaceful setting. Ideal for families or groups, this spacious retreat includes a separate apartment with private external access from both the main house and parking area.
Enjoy nearby scenic walking tracks leading to Nelson’s vibrant town centre, where you’ll find cafés, markets, boutique shops, and restaurants. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore mountain biking trails, coastal walks, and beaches just a short drive away. The marina, with boat-launching facilities, is only five minutes from the property.
Perfectly located for day trips to Marlborough wine country, Nelson Lakes, Kaiteriteri, the Moutere vineyards, and Abel Tasman National Park, Black Barn Escape is an excellent base for exploring the region.
After a day of adventure, unwind on the deck with breathtaking views or soak in the spa pool. Whether you’re looking for relaxation or outdoor activities, Black Barn Escape offers a comfortable and convenient stay in beautiful Nelson.
**Special conditions & notes**:
- Strictly no party, gatherings or venue use. No Smoking.
- Apartment - Please note that Bedroom 4 is a separate apartment within the main structure of the house. This room provides a Queen Bed, Kitchenette, Ensuite and has external access from the main house as well as the parking area.
- Spa Pool use - Use of the spa is not permitted after 10pm due to local regulations & the proximity of neighbouring properties that may be affected by noise.
- Fall hazard - Please note the retaining wall along the rear property is greater than 1m in height and does not have a railing. Please do not allow children to roam above the wall.
- Stairs - This home has stairs so care is required if you have small children.
**Payment, Bond/Security Deposit and Cancellation**:
- A 30% deposit secures your stay with the balance due 3 weeks prior to your arrival (full payment will be required if booking within 3 weeks of arrival).
- Three weeks prior to your arrival (or immediately if booking within 3 weeks of arrival), you’ll need to provide a card authority for the bond/security deposit via our secure online check in process.
- Cancel anytime up until 3 weeks prior to arrival for any reason and you’ll pay no more than 30% of the booking total.
- Where compassionate circumstances for cancellation exist, we’ll be happy to look at further flexibility, usually in the form of postponement of your stay, or a credit towards future stay dates.
- A Rental Agreement document is provided as part of the booking process. Please refer to the agreement for full terms and conditions. :-)
