Lovely all around

We had an amazing stay - location, amenities, comfort of the house and all things in it. We didn’t find anything we needed and that wasn’t there. The house is lovely and the outdoor soace and beach are fantastic for all ages and activities. I can’t wait to come back again!

Always a blast!

For the third year in a row, we’ve made Sunset Lodge our vacation spot with friends and family. The beautiful sunsets, the fabulous patio, the beautiful kitchen and spacious living area make for a great week of visiting and memory making. Jason and Lisa are lovely hosts. Another week for the books!

A/C failed

Water equipment and house layout was great. BUT the A/C failed. We could own windows and doors to compensate, but lower floor bedrooms rose to 90 degrees the last night. Kitchen faucet failed and it took 4 days to get the owners to fix it. Game equipment mostly had missing equipment.Nevertheless, good time!

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, and we’re genuinely sorry that parts of your stay didn’t meet expectations. We apologize for the delay in getting the kitchen faucet fixed. I did reach out to our plumber right away and hoped to have it resolved within a day, but unfortunately, scheduling challenges meant it took a follow-up to get them in. Regarding the A/C, we’ve since learned that it was functioning correctly, but the in-floor heating had been left on high, which caused the two systems to work against each other. We completely understand how uncomfortable that must have been, especially during the warmer nights, and we’ll be updating our manual with clear thermostat instructions to help avoid this in the future. As for Golden Tee, we’re not sure what happened there, but we’re actively working on getting it repaired. We truly appreciate your honest feedback — it helps us improve. We're glad you still managed to have a good time, and we hope to welcome you back again under better circumstances. Warmly, Lisa & Jason

Fantastic Property!

We had a wonderful time at this cottage. It is beautiful, clean and very well kept. The views from the cottage are incredible and the beach is even better. The games room was a huge hit with the kids. Everyone enjoyed the kayak and paddle boards at the beach. Some small gestures that we really appreciated and helped cut down on our own packing were the availability of common pantry cooking supplies and spices, and many condiments you would plan for including ketchup and mustard. It was also nice that all linens and towels including beach towels were included. We had a fantastic trip and will look forward to returning soon.

Beyond expectations

What an amazing place this is, it is by far the most unique home I have stayed at. All the wood, architecture, the unique decorations and the layout of the home were beyond expectations. The Host was beyond kind and accommodating, they truly made all the difference. The pictures do not do it justice at all. This is the place when you can disconnect, cuddle up by the fireplace with a book, enjoy the bonfire or cook a massive meal in their state of the art kitchen. You will not be disappointed!

Absolutely amazing

This place was everything I could have dreamed for. My husband and I just got married at this property with 50 guests and it couldn't have been more perfect, from the private beach to the huge log cabin you get to stay In and enough property to have a tent for the reception. All my guests said how beautiful it was, everything was absolutely stunning! So much room, so clean, and Jason was always so responsive to anything we needed, him and his wife are amazing and awesome hosts! This cabin has everything you need and more! You can't go wrong with this place, it was a dream being able to stay here and I hope one day we can again. Thank you so much for allowing us to have our wedding here, it was honestly a dream come true and the perfect place to have a wedding, I can't thank Jason and Lisa enough for allowing us to have our wedding here! If you can stay here don't miss the opportunity, it's a dream! Thanks again Danielle and Colten Neufeld :)

Amazing cottage with heavenly sunset views!

Jason’t and Lisa’s cottage is the whole package, if you are looking for luxury, peace, nature and serenity, this is the place for you. It is spacious, very well-maintained, neat, clean, well-kept, and well-organized, with plenty of supplies, everything we needed was there. The cottage comes with a beautiful private beach and a large games room. Jason and Lisa are great hosts and were very helpful, we really appreciate their prompt and kind response. Thank you for having us, we had a fantastic time. Just a side note: for anyone planning to rent a golf cart, please make sure that you get one which can handle the steep incline down to the beach. We rented a golf cart, which was unable to climb up the hill and had to return it the next day. Even though the path to the beach is steep, the beach is so inviting and scenic that it was worth the walk down. We were able to manage with four young children (under 5 years) and myself, a grandmother almost 65.

Ayesha and family we're among some of the most gracious guests we have ever had. We ran into a couple of issues throughout the week and although we were able to attend to them relatively quickly they still would have been frustrating as it ate in to some of their time. They took it all in stride and it's incredible to see that it didn't allow it to put a damper on their week. Absolutely wonderful guests and would have them in any property at any time.

Amazing property!

We’ve been cottaging in the Grand Bend area for 30 years and this might be our best cottage yet! This place is just beautiful. We enjoyed the large backyard for yard games and their beautiful patio area for appetizers and drinks each day. The kayaks and paddle boards were used everyday down on the beach. We spent the sunny days on the beach enjoying the sand and water. We spent our rainy days enjoying the games room, downstairs movie area and large gathering space upstairs. We loved being able to gather together around the island to chat while dinner was being prepared or after while dishes were being done. We found the cottage and grounds to be very clean! Our crew loved having bonfires on the cool evenings. There are plenty of chairs to accommodate larger groups. We had the pleasure of meeting Jason and Lisa briefly and they are lovely. They were wonderful hosts! The communication was excellent as we had a lot of questions. They always responded in a timely manner! Everything we needed was there! We just needed to bring our personal belongings. Our families loved making memories here and look forward to doing so in the years to come. Quick tip for renters - at this time (summer 2021) the entry into the water is quite rocky. It does turn to sand but the entry was a bit tricky. Bring water shoes if you have some 😊

✨Dream Wedding✨

We had such a fantastic stay at Jason's Luxury Lakefront Property. Jason was gracious enough to let us rent the house to host our wedding and it was absolutely amazing. We rented the house for two nights so we had plenty of time to set up and have our rehearsal on Friday. Our whole 12-person wedding party stayed over the Friday night and their spouses stayed the night of the wedding as well. We had the ceremony and cocktail hour in the backyard and luckily the weather was absolutely beautiful, and then had the reception inside. All of our guests had such an amazing time and we were able to make so many beautiful memories over the entire weekend. The guys loooved their space in the basement, and spent most of their free time playing pool and the Golden Tee golf game. The girls made great use of all the space in the master suite, spending the morning getting their hair and makeup done. Hosting a wedding out of a house was a little more work than some other options. Having to coordinate all the linens, tables, tent rental (in case it rained), decorations, offsite catering, and bar setup definitely seemed challenging during the planning stages. But after seeing how perfect everything turned out for our big day, we wouldn't do it any other way. It was well worth the extra effort to make our day, and our whole weekend with all our favourite people, as magical as it was. Again, we can't thank Jason and his wife enough for allowing us to make our dream wedding a reality ❤️

Best Family Cottage on Lake Huron

Our family of 14 were happily surprised with the furnishings and wood/stone cottage structure. All amenities were included. Kitchen was roomy so all could help with meal preparation. Everyone had their own bed and shared bathrooms were luxurious. The private beach was clean. We would recommend water shoes for the lake rocks when entering the water. The property was spacious with a fire pit and plenty of firewood for nightly get togethers. We had room for a volleyball net and outside games. The patio was a bonus for both daytime and nighttime enjoyment. The temperatures were hot so air conditioning was appreciated. So hot the AC couldn’t cool the lower and upper levels. The main floor was always a perfect temperature. Although very expensive for the week, our holiday as a family was priceless. Thank you to Jason and Lisa for your great communication and having a beautiful Haven to enjoy.

A summer highlight

This is our second summer back at this property and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. It has everything you need and more. Our family enjoyed the paddle boards, large yard for games, the patio area for 'pour at 4' and the campfire pit for our evening s'mores and sing alongs. The games room was a hit on our one rainy morning as was the downstairs TV area. We were able to take in the sunsets from the beach or up at the cottage. Thank you Jason and Lisa for being fantastic hosts. See you next summer!

Family Cottage Week

This is a beautiful cottage with tons of space to play in and out. It is well kept, tidy and has all the amenities you could wish for! Hosts were quick to respond and easy to communicate with. There is a steep walk to the beach, we rented a golf cart for this purpose as suggested which was super helpful for all the trips back and forth with little ones. The beach is rocky on entry as the hosts described, water shoes make swimming more comfortable. The water sport toys (paddle boards and kayaks) are new and in amazing condition and great fun to have available. The life jackets and sand toys available were also much appreciated. We enjoyed the fire pits and were impressed to have fire wood provided. The games room was such a fun option for late night games. Multiple dinning and seating areas are available. Overall this property was exactly what we were looking for in a memorable family vacation!

Fantastic house in a fabulous location

This is a beautiful house in a wonderful location - PRIVATE beach right on Lake Huron. Lake Huron's beautiful sunsets are the best in the world and you can watch them from the property. Large, well-designed and maintained house (not really a "cottage"). Everything we needed was in the house. Jason and Lisa (the owners are wonderful to deal with and we had the pleasure of meeting them). Private location (although there are cottages next door - they are quiet and respectful owners - not to mention "not there" during the week). But this is all about getting away to a beautiful house on Lake Huron - and being close to the wonderful towns of Goderich and Bayfield (and Grand Bend, if you want to go!). Golfing is great very close by. Listing is very accurate - and the house (although "not cheap") is well worth it. Its priceless to get out of noisy Toronto to be in this part of Ontario. Thank you Jason and Lisa!
