About the home
“Foreshore Sunset Retreat” is a classic Beach Shack - an older style single-storey family and pet-friendly home in Jam Jerrup on the beach with stunning 180 degree water views, beach access just across the road and a short 10 minute drive from the supermarkets, restaurants & cafés of Lang Lang or Grantville. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:
Indoor Areas
The large central open plan Kitchen/Dining/Living Room (with 43" smart TV, mini table tennis table, coonara wood heater, dart board & some games) has delightful uninterrupted 180 degree water views and provides access to Bedroom 1, featuring a wall mounted 43" smart TV and WIR and dual-entry ensuite (with shower over bath & a toilet). The Kitchen flows through to a sunroom that provides access to Bedrooms 2 (with WIR), Bedrooms 3 (with BIR) and Bedroom 4 (with BIR and a vanity with sink). A Laundry (with washing machine) is in the rear Hallway which also leads to a Bathroom (with shower) and a separate Toilet.
Note: The property is in a very remote area and reception can sometimes be affected; however, there is Wi-Fi and a cellular booster available at the property.
Outdoor Areas
The large front covered Verandah (with gas BBQ, seating for 4 people plus an outdoor table for 4 more) overlooks the good-sized front yard with fire pit area (with seating for 4 people) and has unimpeded 180 degree water views, looking out over the French Island Marine National Park to French Island itself. The huge fully enclosed rear yard is accessed via the side driveway and is perfect for children and pets alike with plenty of space for ball games and features a small covered area. The rear Shed & Garage are not for guests, but the long driveway provides parking for up to 4 vehicles (cars and/or a boat).
Kitchen
The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, toaster, kettle, Vertuo Nespresso pod coffee machine, etc. plus a double sink, fridge, dishwasher, electric oven and gas cook top.
Note: The home is on tank water which is drinkable, but guests are encouraged to bring some drinking water for themselves if they are unsure about drinking tank water.
Heating/Cooling Systems
There is a wall mounted reverse cycle air conditioner in Bedroom 4, ceiling fans in Bedrooms 1, 2, 3 and the Living Room, plus 3 additional stand-alone heaters which can be used where required. The home has a Coonara-style wood heater in the Living Room (some wood provided to get you started).
Bedding Configuration
This home has 4 beds accommodating up to 8 guests:
Bedroom 1: One King bed
Bedroom 2: One Queen bed
Bedroom 3: One Queen bed
Bedroom 4: One Queen bed
Linen
It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.
Peak Periods
Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.
Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies
Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties, or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies, irrespective of whether school-leavers are part of the official Schoolies Program. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process. Local council restrictions are in place for this property, and compliance is mandatory.
