Unobstructed views from this beautiful Oceanfront Log cabin in Gilles Bay, Texada Island, British Columbia. Relax on the oceanfront patio while watching the Eagles, Vultures, Blue Herons, and Hawks Soar over the ocean just off the deck. The perfect retreat for couples to unwind or families to make lasting memories. The beach is famous for the summer sandcastle competition. Miles of sand, tide pools, and sealife spread across Gilles Bay making the bay a perfect place to swim in the warm ocean, paddleboard and kayak. 9-hole golfing, hiking and a convenient 5 min walk to the local general store that supplies all groceries and liquor.
2 Bedrooms on the main floor + a loft (2 single beds) in a cozy log cabin/beach cottage. Sleeps 1-5.

10/10. Perfect view overlooking the water and mountains. Extremely well equipped in every room. Check in and out was a breeze and amenities like corner store, fresh eggs etc all near by. We were very impressed and it exceeded our expectations.

Sand Dollar Cabin

We really enjoyed our time there. The cabin has everything you need and the Island was neat to explore, lots of walking trails for us and our dog. We want to come back in the summer and explore all the nice beaches we saw. Thank you, Dave, Patti and Jake!

New Year's on Gillies Bay

The cabin was cozy, comfortable and had everything we needed for cooking.We enjoyed walks in the neighborhood and watching the eagles from the oceanfront deck.Relaxing and restorative, we rang in the New Year. We'd love to come back in the summer.thank you

BEAUTIFUL VIEW

Our stay at the cabin was relaxing and adventurous at the same time! The tide went down for one of the days we stayed, and we got to explore the oceans treasures. We found thousands of sand dollars. We were able to explore the island, grill, and have smores. The view from the deck is breath taking and we also saw some whales!

The Sand Dollar Cabin is a great place to stay!

We expected snow and rain so we were well equipped. The Cabin was clean and is well equipped. Being only the width of a wall away from the ocean was a real treat. Waking up to an unobstructed view of the ocean was amazing. I think we had the blinds open 24/7. Don't give it a second thought... Book your stay here! No regrets.

What a view!

Stunning view with a spacious deck where we spent lots of our time playing and relaxing once the kids were in bed. We saw humpback whales two of the evenings while enjoying the sunset. Gillies Bay beach has lots to explore at low tide, and at high tide the water is so inviting just steps from the house. We enjoyed evening swims to cool down after heating up in the sun on the deck. Excellent location-less than 5 minute walk to the General Store, which does seem to have everything (and not terribly overpriced), as well as the summer farmers market which we enjoyed! Janice (the host) and Danielle (the caretaker) were both lovely and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay again.

Comfortable and Well Located

An older log style cottage with an excellent view overlooking Gillies Bay. Everything conveniently located within the cottage other than the missing remote control for the dvd player.

My techs said it was a pleasure to have this property as an option for them to stay at during their time on the island. The view, the coziness of the home, they thoroughly enjoyed it. They wished they had more down time to enjoy all that it offered. We appreciate having you allow our team to stay there.

Very relaxing and quiet. The view is absolutely breath taking!

We stayed for 3 nights and it was so relaxing! The gnome homes trail (eagle cove trail) was really different and kids would love to see these cute gnome houses! Really enjoyed the fire pit right by the water at the bottom of stairs. Great place to escape from busy lifestyles! Definitely coming back :)

Fantastic

Great cabin on the ocean, the place wants for nothing and is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy laid back Texada living. View from the deck is spectacular, host is easy to deal with. Could not recommend more.

Gorgeous Property

If you are looking for a quiet, kid and pup friendly getaway this is it. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect set up and location. Walk out to the beach, enjoy the hot tub, go to the farmers market, walk the trails. Texada Island is a truly special place with the friendliest people. We will be back

Fabulous Getaway

We stayed at the Sand Dollar Log Cabin for a week in August 2021. In addition the cabin having everything we needed, the weather was also spectacular. It took us three ferries to get to Texada but it was so worth it to visit an Island with so much history and natural beauty.

Comfortable beds. Great fire place, well stocked kitchen, only 5 min walk from the store. Great board games and moves to enjoy on wet evenings. Lots of fire wood provided. Log cabin so noise transfer is hi. Lovely place to stay. Thanks Janice
